Mirai's POV

"Ryosuke! Ryosuke! Where are you?!" I shouted. This is painful. I didn't know that giving birth would test your threshold of pain. It digs in every part of you, physically and mentally.

"Mirai..." my mother told me. "Just breathe. Keep breathing. He will be here soon." I heard her through my pain. She wiped the sweat on my forehead when I wished it was Ryosuke.

I closed my eyes, breathing, hoping that I'd hear his voice; that he'd hold my hand and say the things I wanted to hear this time. 

/italics/ "I'm here Mirai, I'm here... Don't be afraid... Do this for our children... They will be fine... You will be fine..." /italics/

But there's no Ryosuke. No voice. No presence.

Ryosuke's POV

"RYOSUKE!!"

"STAND UP!!"

"This isn't manly of you. How can you be here when Mirai is giving birth to your child?" 

My father was shouting; hard enough to wake me up from my fake sleep. I didn't dare raise my head as he continued to bother me. 

"What is wrong with you, Ryosuke? How dare you. Is this what I have taught you? You're disrespecting me!" he belowed loudly.

Despite all his shouting and prodding, I didn't raise my head to affirm his noise. I still laid with my back facing him. I wanted to talk back but he still kept going.
