Another night is coming on. The darkness spreads her glittering skirt, the starlight twinkling off the snow. Chrismas decorations lit up the streets and shone from windows. In a nice building, a mini Christmas tree sparkled merrily on a ledge. Inside however...

The five occupants of the dorm wandered in a fog of their own thoughts. They seemed to glide around, each so lost in their own thoughts that they never noticed that everyone was in the same state. Outside the door, a man pulled out a cell phone. 

2011 December 13

He sighed. They didn't even remember. He knew that the gifts were already purchased and hidden, but in the past week or so, something had triggered all five of them to almost shut down. They had withdrawn into themselves. He closed his eyes for a second before punching in a number he'd hoped he'd never have to use.

"Weaver. I need your help."

The one called Weaver answered without hesitation. "You or them?"

"Them."

"Alright."

"When?"

The voice behind Weaver smiled. "Tonight, of course. I don't like waiting." The line went dead.

He put away his phone and looked at the door one last time before walking away. Good luck, everyone.
