Prologue

[Jiyeon’s POV]

     “Jiyeon-yah, eomma’s getting married.”

     It took me a few moments to process what she was saying before I choked on my bread.

     “What? Getting married? Why?”

     “Because I have found true —”

     No need to listen to her rubbish about true love and whatever. The more important thing. Who.

     “Which one?”

     “What do you mean which one? I—”

     “Who are you getting married to?” Don’t tell me it’s that Choi Taesung guy or whatever, I hated his attempts to try and get closer to me everytime Mum brought him home. And seeing the way he talked about his kids, they seemed to be real snobs, even though I haven’t met them yet.

     “You know. Choi…”

     I shut her up with a piece of bread. Mum chewed the bread thoughtfully, trying to read my expression.

     “They’re coming tomorrow.”

     “Okay okay… What? They?”

     “Taesung’s coming over to live here, with Jonghun and Jiyoung.”

     “Tomorrow? And you didn’t bother to give me at least one week to prepare my innocent soul for those idiots coming?”

     “They’re not idiots, Jiyeon. Jonghun’s the same age as you but a few months older, and Jiyoung’s two years younger.”

     “I don’t need to know how old they are,” I snapped, pushing my chair back.

     “Jiyoung’s going to share a room with you!”

     Great. Now I have to share a room with an idiot.

     “Can you believe it? They’re coming over. Tomorrow.”

     “There’s no need to get so worked up over it, you know…” Minhwan’s voice filled my room. I always liked to put my phone on loudspeaker. Guess I have to break another habit once that idiot arrives.

     “My cousins are coming over tomorrow too,” Minhwan said excitedly. Oh, I remember. He'd been talking to me all the time about his cousins, one guy and he really liked this female cousin, whom he described as ‘very pretty’ and ‘fun to be with’. In other words, he probably liked that cousin very much.

     “I gotta go, hyung’s calling me. I’ll see you tomorrow, I wanna meet your step-siblings!”

     “Yah, Choi Minhwan!”

     Click. He’d hung up.

     Wonder which hyung is it. Nowadays Minhwan treasured his hyungs more than his best friends.

     Better get ready for one idiot living in my room then. Then I realised that there was only one bed. There was one extra mattress but that probably went to that Jong guy. And thinking of Taesung and mom sharing a room... Urgh.
     Great. Now I even have to share a bed with an idiot.

     I was awoken rudely by the doorbell. Whoever was pressing the doorbell was obviously having alot of fun, occasionally making short rings and most of the time leaving their finger on the doorbell.
     12.09pm. I'd overslept again.
    Then I remembered that the 3 idiots were coming today. And one of the idiots decided to make it his job to wake us all up.
    I pulled my blanket over my head. Why hadn't mom gone to open the door yet?
    Mumbling angrily under my breath, I wrenched the door open. "Why can't you guys shut up?"
    Standing in front of me was one of the prettiest, most statue-like guys I'd ever seen.
    And he didn't look happy.
