#Hashtag (Korean: 해시태그) is a South Korean girl group under YG Entertainment.
The group debuted on March 22, 2016 with the song "Dumb Dumb" from the album, 'Here We Come!'. The current lineup includes Hyunji, Hana, Ahri, and N-Yu. Their fanclub name is #Importants announced on March 21, 2016.
History
2015: Pre-releases
They were first teased on September until members started to be revealed in November and all the way till the end of December. It was also mentioned that #Hashtag would pre-release songs before they would debut (just like WINNER and iKON) did. There will be two singles; 'Red Light' and 'My First Love'.
2016: 'Red Light' & 'My First Love' all-kill, first reality show, broadcasting, debut concert, 'Here We Come!" + tops charts, Japanese fan meetings, Hyunji dating news, acting
Both 'Red Light' and 'My First Love' got all-kills as soon as they were released! With 'Red Light' being #1 and 'My First Love' being #3. And on January 3rd YG Entertainment announced that #Hashtag would have a reality show before they debut titled '#Hashtag One Fine Day' and the first episode is to air January 28th.
On February 12th YG Entertainment said that #Hashtag would debut sometime in March. Teasers titled 'Dumb Dumb' were then released on March 3rd and through March 12nd.
YG Entertainment announced that #Hashtag would promote on other music shows besides 'Inkigayo' and 'M! Countdown' despite Lee Hi (who is promoting at the same time) who is only performing on these two stages. The next YG announced that #Hashtag would have a debut concert (like iKON) titled "We're Here!" on March 21st.
The girls debut album 'Here We Come!' was released on March 17th and had the title track 'Dumb Dumb', as well as the pre-release tracks 'Red Light' and 'My First Love'. The album charted on Billboard's World Albums Charts at #1, #24 on the Heatseekers Albums Chart, and #1 on Gaon Album Chart. 'Dumb Dumb' itself ranked #3 on Billboard's World Digital Songs as well as #1 on YinYueTai's V-Chart Korea. #Hashtag's debut concert also sold out on the same day within 7 minutes.
#Hashtag debuted on March 22nd on 'The Show' and won their first music show award. They ended promotions on April 22nd on 'Music Bank' after winning two Triple Crowns and other music awards.
On April 23rd YG Entertainment announced that #Hashtag will go on Japan fanmeeting toured titled '#Hashtag Fan Meeting 2016 in Japan * Connected' starting on May 9th and going through May 12th and visiting various cities in Japan. But unfourtnally YG announced on the 25th that Hana will unable to make it to due to the passing of her twin sister.
On May 17th media reports showed Hyunji out with SPEED's Sungmin and out on mutiple dates. YG Entertainment confirmed that the two are dating and have been since October 2014.
Ahri was announced on June 26th to act in the web drama 'Matching! Boys Archery Club' (she acted in 'The Heirs' as f(x)s' Krystal's younger character). Following Ahri, maknae N-Yu was announced on October 25th to also act in a web drama titled 'Monim's Room' where she played Moda, Monim's younger sister.
2017-2018: Electric Boy + Jet Coaster Love, Hot Summer, Summers Not Over, KCON, Hana debuts as actress, '32nd Golden Disk Awards', Odd Eye Circle, Drama and Ahri hiatus, Sey's contract terminated
#Hashtag were to debut in Japan and released two singles 'Electric Boy' and 'Jet Coaster Love', with the second song placing #1 on Oricon music charts. They came back with 'Hot Summer' on April 2nd as their third single. They pre-released 'Why Did You Come To My Home?' on April 1st. #Hashtag also released the Japanese version of 'Hot Summer' on June 14th.
On August 11th, YG Entertainment started to release teasers for #Hashtag's comeback with the full release of their title song 'Red Flavor' on August 24th. They made their comeback on August 26th on 'Music Core'. #Hashtag was also invited to their first KCON in September. Hana also got her debut role in the drama 'My Mister'. At the '32nd Golden Disk Award', the group won the 'Digital Bonsang' for 'Red Flavor'.
On February 7th, Sey the oldest member graduated from Korea National University in dance performance. On June 10th teasers were revealed, which was later said on June 18th to be the first subunit of #Hashtag. The subunit is called Odd Eye Circle and consists of members Hyunji, Hana, and N-Yu. Their single 'Girl Front' on July 1st, following their debut stage.
On July 6th, Sey posted a suspcious message on social media saying trust has been broken and netizens thought this was targeted towards the other members and YG Entertainment. YG responding, stating that Sey has been consistely absent from group practices and activites since the end of April and this cause #Hashtag not to have a comeback since they couldn't keep in contact with Sey. YG also stated they would end her contract if she contined to affect the group. Another surprise was Ahri's sudden health was released. YG mentioned in the same statement that Ahri had anoriexia and would take a undefinte hiatus from #Hashtag to focus on her health, with this Odd Eye Circle stopped their promotions.
On August 23rd, YG announced that Sey's contract was terminated and she is no longer apart of the group. But as by the court she will still have to pay fines which include trainee and others.
