Sometimes we forget because it’s easy. The easiest thing at the moment is to forget. To move on and not remember the past and only look at the future, but there will always be times when the past comes forward and shows itself. It says look at me I am still here. We run from things of the past. We run but we can’t hide. The past will always be there taunting, and mocking you trying to pull you down. We don’t have to succumb to the taunting though. We can preserver. We can stand up and keep running or we can face the past. We can stop running because no matter how far we get, the past is still there, it doesn’t go away. It’s like a memory. Memories are with us always. We might not be thinking about them at all times but they’re there. Some memories we may not have thought about in years, but then we smell something that reminds us of that memory, or we meet someone that brings it back up. We can see a sign or hear someone’s voice and that memory that was hidden for so many long years is brought back to the surface again. You can’t hide from yourself, from what you’ve done or whatever it is that happened in your past. you can’t hide but you can run, and after a while running gets jaded. You can only run so long and then its time. Time to face what you’ve been running from for so long. You have to face fear head on and remain strong because running won’t cut it, not this time.
