at first glance, sungwoong is pretty petite, but upclose, he is a very attractive male. he has soft, but interesting features that help enhance his facial expressives. his smile is very contagious, making other smile as well. his body is lithe with hidden muscles from dance training. most of his muscles are in his upper arms and thighs. his fingers are rather long and give his hands a regal appearance, especially when he's playing his bass. the most petite thing on his body is his small waist and tiny feet. his small waist is one of the first things people point out because...how can a male have such a small waist? and his feet are rather small for his age, but it matches his height.

sungwoong has both ears pierced in the lobes and hopes for more piercings in the future. he has one minimalist tattoo on his right forearm he got before the show.

* sadly, sungwoong wasn't blessed with the genes of height and he's pretty much stuck at this height for the rest of his life.

STYLE

ever looked at a girl's closet and it ends up looking like they stole 50% of their boyfriend's clothes? that's essentially what sungwoong style is like. shirts and hoodies that tend to be larger than his lithe frame, hiding his small waist from people. he mostly wears skinny jeans and his hardly ever seen wearing anything else. he usually sticks to white sneakers or worn out chuck taylors when it comes to shoes.

when it comes to formal wear, well, he becomes a total diva. he will deck out in those expensive he can find. he will look drop dead gorgeous in the end.

sungwoong is very quick to understand things, to learn and devise plans and ideas. his intelligence tends to throw people for a loop, especially since he doesn't really act like he's intelligent. sungwoong is full of passion. whether its dancing or playing his bass, he's passionate about life. he's eager to learn, learn, and learn about new things to become passionate about. he hardly lets anything get to him when he gets passionate over something. he is very determined. he knows exactly when she when he can do something. even if he fails, he'll get right back up and try again. with sungwoong being very clever, he is alo very witty. his fairly quick to spill out some humor with his wit just to make everyone laugh. sungwoong is a romantic by heart. each time he goes out into public, he expects this will be the day that he'll meet his soulmate. at least, a part of him does. he knows it crazy to think that way, but the excitement gets him going.

living in america and learning their culture has made him somewhat sarcastic, which actually goes along with his wit. he's just as quick to let out sarcastic comments as he is with funny wit. he can be very straightforward and blunt. he does not like beating around the bush at all. he's rather be direct then soft-spoken about things. he is also rather demanding as he wishes for everything to be perfect. he will make others work harder just so he can meet the high standards he has for himself. sungwoong is very much a perfectionist. if one little thing is misplaced, he will do whatever it takes to put it back in it's place. sungwoong is definitely stubborn. there are a lot of times when his stubborness gets in the way like whenever he really DOES need help, but refuses to ask for help. he's stubborn like that.

BACKGROUND

sungwoong was born to normal couple in incheon, south korea. he wasn't planned, but the couple welcomed him to the family nonetheless. his family weren't rich, but they weren't poor either. they were normal family and he was raised like normal. but as he grew up, everyone around sungwoong noticed the boy was the light of their neighborhood. he brightened everyone's moods with just a goofy smile on his face. he did his best in school, making sure to make his family proud of him. he even applied for foreign exchanges to america for further studying multiple times and attended those dance classes like they wanted. he definitely made his parents (and little sister) proud when he graduated those few months early. he even made plans to apply to for an arts college to further learn dance like his parents wanted.

though what his parent's didn't know was that whenever he was studying, he was listening to music or strumming on a secondhand bass he got from a friend. listening to kpop and learning his bass became his happy place where he didn't have to study or do anything. he could be himself.

when he graduated, he was quick to audition to be. he knew his dance lessons would come in handy as a few attendees were also singers who taught him a thing or two about singing. his parents had no idea about his singing or bass talent until he was accepted into magicstar.

despite being angry for their son's secrecy and going behind their backs, they were happy with whatever made sungwoong happy.

tl;dr he started the foreign exchange program in middle school which carried on into his high school years. his little sister was born when he was 6 years old, making her 14 years old. sungwoong graduated in mid 2015, making him 17/18 when he auditioned for magicstar.

🌱 exo are his kings and chunga & sunmi are his queens. put him in room with them and i'm pretty sure he'll self-combust.

this relationship happened back in middle school. everyone kept saying they would look good together so they went out. it was then when sungwoong figured out that he was very much in fact gay. though their breakup didn't happen until the end of high school to keep of pretenses (aeri would help cover up sungwoong's late night excursions with a certain boy). though they remain perfectly good friends as they are pretty much alike personality-wise (aeri is a bit more refined than sungwoong). aeri has promised sungwoong that she'll be cheering for him on as his number one fan.

yonggu is the certain boy sungwoong would hang out late at night while aeri covered for them. yonggu actually confessed to sungwoong when they were freshmen, he thought sungwoong was really cute and attractive. yonggu was the perfect gentleman for sungwoong and aeri thought they were absolutely the cutest couple. their love was innocent before hormones were added into the mix. yonggu was sungwoong first taste in true love. their breakup was due to yonggu having to move to japan due to his father's company. they still remain good friends and are still contact. sungwoong goes to yonggu for love related things.

yonggu still has feelings for sungwoong, but he won't tell him that because he's going to take over his father's business in japan. he was the first person to tell sungwoong that his relationship with junhoe was bad from the start, but sungwoong didn't listen to him. it's hard for yonggu to listen to sungwoong's cries whenever they talk about junhoe or seeing the bruises on his skin whenever they skype.

sungwoong knew junhoe was school as they went to the same high school. they were acquaintances that spoke to each other a few times at school. it would continue as junhoe was accepted into yg entertainment. sungwoong remembers when junhoe appeared on win: who is next? and he would be lying if he said he didn't watch the show. even yonggu knew that sungwoong had a bias and his name was junhoe, the male always thought he looked hot (not that it bothered yonggu, he knew sungwoong loved him). yes, he totally didn't ugly sob when junhoe's team didn't win, but life went on...until junhoe's team actually debuted. ikon debuted the same year he graduated and was accepted into magicstar. it was weird, that he actually knew junhoe before this fame, but he continued on. that was until...

they bumped into each other randomly a few months after ikon's debut at a convenience store and recognized each other. they exchanged numbers, but sungwoong was quick to notice junhoe's eyes following his backside as he left, but he said nothing, thinking he was seeing things. for months in advance, they would text each other and junhoe's texts were getting more and more flirty with sungwoong. after some time, junhoe had free time from ikon and sungwoong agreed to hang out. and it was during that time did something really happen. junhoe made a move on sungwoong and...sungwoong let him. they flirted back and forth until their lips made contact.

their relationship escalated quite quickly and, sungwoong being sungwoong, found himself falling in love with junhoe just as quickly. before he could confess, junhoe was getting busier with ikon promotions. they didn't meet up for some time and when he came back, he came back different. he was a lot more rougher with sungwoong, but sungwoong didn't think much about it at the time.

but his actions continued to be rough until sungwoong finally told junhoe to stop, that this rough him wasn't the one he fell in love with. junhoe laughed at sungwoong's confession and essentially told him he was only with him to 'let off steam'.

their relationship ended and junhoe continued on with ikon so sungwoong thought he saw the end of junhoe, but he didn't when he ran into him once again in that same damn convenience store a year later. sungwoong still isn't over junhoe and pretty much does whatever he wants whenever he's near. because he just can't say no to him, even when he comes back to the company dorms with bruises littering his arms.

currently, the only person who knows of his relationship with junhoe is yonggu and his little sister knows that he's in an abusive relationship, but doesn't know who.

when the filming for constellation starts, sungwoong's bruises fade away since he's too busy to meet up with junhoe due to the show. a part of sungwoong is afraid of what might happen after the show.

TRAINEE LIFE

as sungwoong was accepted into magicstar, he was fairly surprised how they let him train his bass talent. they trained him in his singing, dancing, and playing his bass. he thought of it odd, but took what he could get.

sungwoong's training life is pretty much like any other trainee's training life is except that sungwoong made everything a show. a simple day of practice was like if he was on stage. many trainees looked up to boy with the amazing stage presence despite only training for some time.

instructors usually sang praises about sungwoong's impressive talent to train and go beyond. he hardly took criticism bad and it made him train harder.

trainees and instructors weren't surprised at all when sungwoong was chosen to be one of the fourty trainees to be on their survival shows.

 

PRE-SHOW EXPERIENCE

HEADLINES

🌱 FAMOUS COVER DANCER TO DEBUT?
when his youtube channel became private the same time as magicstar released the fourty trainees for constellation, fans instantly knew that sungwoong was @hwallman1.

🌱 BRUISES ON HWALL'S ARMS?
at the beginning of the show, eagle eyed fans were quick to notice many weird bruises on sungwoong's arms and legs. even another trainee had pointed out the many bruises in which sungwoong just brushed them off, saying he bruises easily and they were simple bruises from training.

a lot of fans thought the explanation was pretty vague, but the bruises faded away as more episodes were filmed.

but as sungwoong continues on the show, fans begin to bring up his own words: "I bruise easily." ever since those first few episodes, he wasn't seen with any bruises. so the question still lingers: "Who gave him those bruises?"

(whether sungwoong makes it to the final lineup or not, i could probably see the fans continuing to talk about it...like pictures could be seen where the bruises return and fans demand to know what is happening to everyone's favorite drama queen.)
