Ken is such a kind person, he talks with a calm voice and is good at staying calm. He likes to help the underdog and anyone that needs it. Always he has wise words and does things for others. Like if he sees a group working hard the whole time he will bring everyone waters or teas. He can't help but to break out into an inspirational speech. Anyone he works with will say he is hardworking but very nice and he treats his fans well too.
Ken has a lot of experience in the industry, he is a veteran. So he is well respected and expects respect too. Usually traditional isn't a bad thing but it can be when it makes you more closed minded. Ken is a bit like that, since he went through a lot he expects others to work so hard like him and doesn't like the people who slack off. Respect and honorifics mean a lot to him. That's one thing he doesn't tolerate, he will first say it calmly but if you keep saying it wrong he will lose his temper but that's super duper rare.
His work ethic is very good and perfectionist. He will keep practicing until it looks good to him but then he expects others to do the same and want to be better. That's the thing, he can't control that if someone doesn't want to but instead he will scold them and make them stay to practice all together. Even if he isn't th leader he can't help to take the leader role because he is controlling and likes perfection.
If he has a problem he likes to say it and solve it directly. He becomes to mediator in many situations and makes people talk it out to get it over with and move on. Even to the staff he will be direct with his issues but still speak politely.
BACKGROUND
Ken was born in America to a wealthy family, his parents were both lawyers and expected him to follow their path. His older brother was perfect and just the kid they wanted. So Ken felt a lot of pressure to compete with him to prove himself. He did a good job though, he was so smart that he skipped two grades in middle school and got the top in his grade every year.
For a long time he followed what his parents wanted but he truly loved singing and Kpop. Boa, Super Junior, TVXQ, Brown Eyed Girls, and Lee Hyori got him through a lot of studying. It was hard to make friends since he was younger than everyone and Kpop helped to cope. So when he heard that SM was auditioning in LA he skipped SAT prep for the first time to go.
He didn't expect much from it and went on with his life. He got into Yale at 16 with a 1560 SAT score and was prepared to move but instead he got a call from SM that he passed the audition. Instead of telling his parents he got his brother that was 22 to sign for him and went to Korea with them thinking he was at Yale.

Hello, please introduce yourself : annyeonghaseyo, long time no see everyone. I'm Ken, it's nice to be back in Korea.
What is your reason for joining the show? : To give my dream another go. I was in a short lived boy group called c-clown
What do you consider your strengths? : My voice is my biggest strength.
Is there anything new you want to try on the show? : Funny enough I'd like to try rapping, I never had a chance to try in c-clown but I'm afraid of disappointing Miryo.
What is your view on Genesis88? : I think it's great! I never thought there'd be a show where an old guy like me could have a shot at being an idol again.
Would you ever try to compete for the center or leader role? : maybe the leader, I'm too old for the center no?
And finally, what advice would you have for your younger self that's about to audition for the first time? : it'll be hard, very very hard, and you'll fail way too many times but don't give up because in the end it'll all be worth it. Trust me.

Ken isn't close to his parents since he lied to them about going to college. They feel like he wasted his years training when he could've been a lawyer. Now that he's successful he tries to buy their love by getting them a new house and expensive gifts but they are still apprehensive. They still prefer Gavin after all his hard work.

Unlike his parents Gavin has been supportive of his whole career. He hates being a lawyer and wish he had the guts to do what Ken is doing. He goes to Thailand very often to see him and they text a lot. He encourages Ken a lot and is a good older brother.

thyey knew each other since trainee days. They couldn't speak the same language but got close through playing soccer. They didn't need to know how to speak the same language to play. Sometimes they would sneak away to watch the games together too. Even after shinee debuted he remained in Minho's soccer playing friend group. He took him under his wing and helped him with his Korean and even helped him get his first girlfriend at 17. They haven't seen each other since 2015 when Ken went to Thailand though. Their schedules made it hard to keep up and both changed phone numbers many times but seeing each other on the show would be a great surprise.

he had a crush on her since he was 15, seeing her would be a dream come true for him and he would get blushy and nervous around her. Mind you he is never nervous since he has so much experience.

Brief group history : they debuted in 2012 and didn't have much popularity. They had some songs on the charts and a small fanbase but at most sold a little over 5,000 copies a d never had a music show win. Their most popular song peaked at #7. they had members that stood out over the rest and Ken was one of them. In 2015 they disbanded.

Trainee and/or idol life :
Ken started training at SM in 2007 when he was 16. Training was a lot harder back then, he didn't have his phone to contact his parents and he didn't speak the language so it was hard. He was used to being alone though so it wasn't too bad. He was lucky that he fit the beauty standard to not get too harsh of treatment. The dorms were gross though and had mice and roaches, and he's pretty sure it was haunted. A culture shock from his house with a pool in California. Still he had a beautiful voice and practiced hard so he could debut. On the side he had a part time job as a dish washer at a restaurant so he could have pocket money. His parents didn't support him so he was really on his own. He was almost a final member of Shinee but they decided to eliminate him last minute.
He stayed at SM though, at least his talent wasn't wasted because sometimes he would fill in when other members couldn't perform. In the meantime he trained with EXO expecting to debut in EXO-M but then when he wasn't chosen again he left and got a offer from Yedamg Enetertainmemt to join C-clown in late 2011. He wasn't sure if it was a scam or not but he had nothing to lose at that point. Good thing it turned out to be real, it was a way smaller company than SM which meant more crowded and rundown dorms but if it meant debut it was ok.
Thankfully it turned out not to be a scam and 6 months after training with them he debuted in C-Clown. His whole time in C-clown he didn't make money, just had debt. He was one of the popular members known as the Thai prince and especially because he was friendly with other sm artists on stage. He got some mc opportunities which was rare since his group wasn't popular. He was the idol that netizens would say if they debuted in a big company he would've done so well.
He was happy to live his dream but still being an idol was hard. Whenever they didn't do well they were publicly scolded by kneeling in the hallway with their arms up in front of everyone walking by. It was embarrassing and since he didn't make money he was still a dishwasher when he didn't have schedules. There were many problems behind the scenes like bad management and promotions.
When they disbanded he didn't regret it at all because it taught him a lot. Even though he was the most popular he wasnt popular enough to have a successful career in Korea on his own. He was going to go home but actually he got an offer from GMMTV to sign him and work in Thailand where he was more popular. He joined them and auditioned for his first acting role as Nueng in Nueng Sai Suang and got it. That kickstarted his acting career but then he didn't expect it to go so well either.
He became a rising star in Thailand. Just from that drama he won 4 awards. Since then he has done more acting and singing. He become an actor that knows how to sing and shows it sometimes on variety shows and the musicals that he does. Everyone knows he can sing well he became a panelist on I Can See Your Voice and a judge of the voice Thailand for a season.
His popularity in Thailand over the years let him pay off his debt and buy a big house in Thailand. Last year he opened a performing arts company called Ken Studios that teach dance, singing and acting lessons for kids and adults. One of his contestants went on the be a runner up on the voice kids and some got acting roles and signed to thai entertainment companies. He wants to create partnerships with Korean companies to help his trainees get into kpop and get Thai people more seen by the world. His ultimate goal is to make his own groups. But he has to show by example, partially he is coming in the show to give his dream another chance and show that it's still possible to chase your dream no matter the age. It's also for business.
He is loved in Thailand and has a squeaky clean image, let's see if he can capture the hearts of Korea on a bigger scale this time.
Life on Genesis88 :
Ken will take on the dad role. By default he will take care of the younger onew and help them and try to solve the problems. Almost everytime he will take on the leader role. His old fans would be so happy to see him and be surprised he still looks so young. His voice is amazing as ever but mostly he is worried about being able to keep up with the choreography, his knees aren't what they used to be.
The audition : For his performance he was dressed as a girl in leopard pants, it was cringey and Ken never thought he'd still have to do that at 30 but he did abnormally well. Probably the best out of everyone. Besides being entertaining it didn't show off much talent so they asked him to sing and it was beautiful. That's mainly what got him the A, and probably that he looks good in a bob wig.
