PERSONALITY There are lots of words to describe Harper Shin. Some good, some bad ones. But one of the most common words that defines Harper is that she is empathetic. It doesn't just mean that she cares about other people's feelings on a basic level, but Harper values other people's feelings more than her own. She knows when someone is happy, upset, or angry without the person telling her how they are feeling. While this can be a lot of emotions for her on a daily basis, Harper knows how to be proactive and get things done in a timely manner. BACKGROUND Harper Shin was born on January 13th, 1998 in Manchester, England. Her parents, Bart and Noelle Shin, are both from South Korea— Busan and Incheon respectively— but met during university in Manchester and decided to permanently stay there. This makes her and her older brother of two years, Mason Shin, first generation immigrants in England.
For the most part, Harper had a steady and pretty normal life. She did unfortunately had problems in school and having a stable friend group. Because she and her brother were the one of the only Asians in their school, Harper got picked on and stereotyped by her classmates a lot. In a result of this, Harper became distant from her peers at school, not wanting to push anyone's buttons.
Participating in art was her escape from reality. Throughout primary and secondary school, Harper would try out different forms of art to see what she liked best. In the end, it was music, drawing, and fashion. During this time, the internet was becoming more popular and accessible than ever before, and of course, Harper scoured the internet and decided to post about her work online, specifically on Tumblr.
She didn't have that much of a restriction on the internet from her parents mainly because they didn't know how the internet exactly worked. Of course, Harper was careful about what not to post and any personal information about her, so she posted on Tumblr under the username onestxrz, a nod to the meaning of her Korean name. But soon enough, Harper was slowly getting more popular on the site, amassing over 10k followers within her first year actively posting in 2013.
Her popularity was mainly because people liked her style of fashion, especially since it was a popular fashion trend in the mid 2010s. Harper would often post outfits of the day and recommend some brands her followers would also like. In the following years, she was becoming a popular Tumblr user.
In 2016, Harper graduated and promptly moved to Brighton for further education in both business and music. Following this, Harper decided to reveal her face to her followers after 3 years because she finally felt comfortable showing her face, as she felt uncomfortable with herself after her acquaintances picked on her due to her race. Harper also formally left Tumblr to move onto other social media platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram.
The next following years were nothing notable. Harper had a good enough job working as an influencer, making enough money to put herself through university without external help. She made a habit of posting at least one video a week and streaming on the weekends.
Sometime in 2019, Harper had come to the conclusion to finally release some music of her own. She had uploaded covers of artists she liked in the past and wrote a few songs here and there but Harper didn't really do anything with it until now. She debuted her first single "Square" in July of 2019, and the song was well received by her audience. A year later, she released her first extended play entitled "Popo (How deep is our love?)" which was also well received by many and Harper even got gigs at small venues following the release of the album.
While she liked creating music, Harper didn't necessarily see herself pursuing music seriously as she was content with her work as an influencer. She just thought it as something that she would casually do. That, and Harper realized that she slightly had stage fright when performing in front of a live audience in person.

But after talking to her family and girlfriend, they also agreed that it would be a wonderful opportunity for Harper and eventually convinced her to go through with it, so she emailed MIK back and accepted their offer to join their new band, STAR:CODE.
