Personality. 

Motherly: Chaewoong is the mom of the group, he thinks he’ll make a great leader because he just naturally takes the motherly role with everyone he meets. Probably because he is the oldest sibling. He is very protective of s and will do anything for them. He is observant of them and other people around them since he doesn’t want them to get hurt. He has the less loved part of being motherly like being naggy and scolding but he never screams. Just sighs and talks calmly so not everyone listens to him but then he’ll clean up their mess anyways.  

Disciplined: He learned quickly that being a trainee is no place to be babied instead the opposite and you can get cut anytime. So he learned to hold back his emotions and take his duties seriously. Even if he’s on the floor panting like crazy, he will get up to say lets do it again and knows how to respond well in interviews. He is always very professional. He gives off the calm aura, the one brain cell in the group.  

Empathetic: Chaewoong can understand others problems well, its apart of his motherly side and leader side to solve his group members problems. Even girl problems he can solve and is understanding because of all the sisters he has. He's there for all of them when they need him. He’s very good at giving wise advice and a warm hug. Though because of so much pressure he tends to blame himself for others problems too.   

Perfectionist: A firm believer of pratice makes perfect, Chaewoong wants everything to be perfect. He watches fancams just to see where they can improve because in the end it all falls on him if they mess up. When they don't practice he gets naggy. His patience is really good with everyone but himself. When he’s learning a dance slowly his dancing doesn’t look very good in the mirror after many practices he gets annoyed. When he’s annoyed or mad he gets quiet and glares. When it’s really bad he’d go outside for fresh air or if he’s wearing a hat he’ll throw it on the floor. He overworks himself a lot so he can do well by Eclipse and they can succeed since it’s his last chance.  

Insecure: He isn't confident in himself so strives for the best. He doesn't think he’s attractive or very talented so any little comments really gets to him. He’s really humble and doesn’t give himself credit. Whenever someone compliments him he rejects it but deep down he really doesn’t think he deserves the compliment because he’s been overlooked so many times and it took him so long to debut.  

Stoic: He doesnt tell others his struggles, he figures s are struggling too so his issues dont matter as much since he is so used to putting others needs before his own. Telling them will only worry them and make him look like an incapable leader so he keeps many worries to herself, the only person he really tells is Chanhyuk and sometimes Bangchan. 

Background.

Chaewoong is the first son of the Lee family. His parents were in love with the performing arts growing up. They loved to go see musicals and was a huge fan of H.O.T, S.E.S and Seo Taiji. So they wanted their kids to be into the same things, not for the purpose of being an idol but just as a hobby or talent to have. They put Chaewoong in dancing lessons from a really young age. He was really hopeless though and hated it. He was the kid that messed up the recitals so she took him out and put him in a choir instead. He really thrived there and liked it a lot more. His voice was really beautiful so he got many solos too. His parents were so proud of him every-time he sang and his sisters looked up to him, except for the youngest one that wasn’t interested in performing arts. He only sang in choir and at church for a long time until 2013 when he decided to audition for kpop star 2. It was all his idea to audition, both his parents were fully supportive as was his family. He did a really good job and got in 3rd place, from there he became a JYP trainee.

He was like their second mom growing up so they confide in him a lot no matter what it is. Whenever they fight they tell him about it so he’s used to resolving their issues for them. Even though they debuted before him they always looked up to him. They still do now though he doesn’t think he deserves it. He doesn’t confide in them because he doesn’t want them to worry. But you can really tell that they adore him because whenever they see each other they hug or cling to him. He’s really proud of them for debuting and has nothing bad to say about them ever. If any of s flirt with them he wouldn’t approve at all.

Best friend / Lee Chanhyuk / 26 / Member of AKMU / INTP / He became friends with Chanhyuk back on Kpop Star and have been best friends since. Chanhyuk is the honest kind of friend that gives good advice and doesn’t judge. He got him into songwriting too and looks up to him for that. He still asks him for advice when songwriting too. YG let him date so he could write good music so he gives Chaewoong advice on women and flirting all the time since he says he’s hopeless. They like to travel together to catch up when they’re busy and get drinks. Chanhyuk is the only one that has seen a drunk and dancing Chaewoong. They didn’t talk for a while because of Suhyun but that drama is over now. Though he still is protective over his sister.

Best friend / Bang Chan / 25 / Member of Stray Kids / ENFJ / Bangchan and Chaewoong became friends from being JYP trainees. After getting rejected from Day6 and Got7 he got close to Bangchan. A producer at JYP recommended them to work together for a monthly evaluation and come up with their own song since Bangchan produced and Chaewoong wrote. Since that experience they became good friends because they worked together so well. Chaewoong was like the unofficial member of 3Racha. Since they are rappers he didn’t fit in but if they had a song that needed vocals he was always the first choice. They liked to make fun of him whenever he tried to rap like them too. He taught Chaewoong a lot when it comes to producing. Now since they’re both leaders they talk about their members like they’re their kids. They have their 3am deep talks sometimes too.

Ex Girlfriend / Lee Suhyun / 23 / Member of AKMU / ENFP / In 2015 Chaewoong and Suhyun dated for a few months. She was his first girlfriend and she liked him a lot more than he liked her. It was after Twice debuted and he was having some serious Jihyo withdrawals because she was so busy. Suhyun liked him for a while and he unintentionally used her as a rebound. Chaewoong would still talk about Jihyo to Chanhyuk so it pissed him off and he threatened to kill him if he hurt his sister. In the end Chaewoong realizes his mistake and didn’t want to lead her on any longer so he broke up with her. Suhyun was really heartbroken so his and Chanhyuk’s relationship with affected too. After hearing Re-bye he got reminded of their situation and reached out to congratulate her and akmu’s #1 and apologize again. She said it was actually inspired by him and thanked him for breaking her heart so they could write good music. After that they started talking again slowly. Now they’re friends but still awkward a bit. Yeri is good friends with Suhyun and she really hates him though.

Trainee years. 7 years ( 4 in JYP, 3 in Dal Media )

Trainee Life.
Chaewoong joined JYP in 2013 when he was 16 after appearing in Kpop Star 2. On the show he mostly just stood and sang but JYP had the idea to put him in a group instead. He thought he’d be perfect for Got7 which was already in the making and had all of their members. Chaewoong was going to take the final spot as the main vocalist. But he struggled a lot more with dancing than JYP thought. Got7 had hard choreography and acrobatic moves so it was easy for Chaewoong to look out of place no matter how good he sounded. Since he practically trained with them from the moment he joined JYP he thought he’d definitely debut with them but he got replaced last minute by a 7 month trainee named Youngjae. After leaving Got7 JYP tried to put him in Day6 instead but he didn’t play an instrument. He was only able to play by ear and at that point the only thing they needed was a drummer so he didn’t fit in there either.

Chaewoong spent the next 3 years trying to perfect his dancing, singing osts, featuring in a few songs, and learning how to song write and produce. He was chosen by Bangchan who was a good friend of his to be on Stray Kids new survival show but he was the first member to get eliminated because the staff felt his dancing never didn’t have much improvement despite him working so hard. After he got eliminated he left JYP with no hesitation, he didn’t want to wait any longer for another rare opportunity and he wasn’t getting any younger either. He had no idea that JYP would end up bringing back the eliminated boys and debut them all so Chaewoong was the only one to not debut in Stray Kids.

After leaving JYP he joined Dal Media where he felt like such an underdog. He didn’t live up to the expectations of being a long time JYP trainee because of his dancing. There were so many more talented people than him that it messed with his confidence a lot. He went from a big company to a small company and even there he was seen as a bad dancer. He worked as a trainee while writing and producing some songs for the debited groups under Dal Media.

In 2019 he joined Producex101 because Dal Media said so. They thought he’d surely get through because he was already known and they were right. Chaewoong was well liked on the show and ended up debuting in X1. Chaewoong felt like his life was finally going up but then the manipulation scandal happened and even though Chaewoong wasn’t manipulated in any way X1 still disbanded. Debuting in Eclipse is Chaewoong’s last chance to make it. If he doesn’t he’d just be a producer and song writer so he’s at least doing what he loves for a living.

Scandals.

Year / True / Chaewoong gets hate for lip singing during a live performance and people bashed him since he’s the main vocalist. Everytime he sang a high note it strained his throat but he never took a break. He physically couldn’t sing but still wanted to perform.l so the fans wouldn’t be disappointed but instead it backfired on him.

Year / True / Chaewoong goes on hiatus due to vocal nodules surgery, he overworked himself with so many high notes and not giving his voice a break he had to get surgery and go on vocal rest. He felt really bad towards s and blamed himself a lot calling himself a bad leader.

Comments/questions. Sorry if he's bad, I rushed him a lot. I can see him as  the leader. If him and Jihyo date they'll be the ultimate parent couple. But if you don't like the Jihyo idea and another applicant matches him more then that works too.
