when one thinks of hwang yeojin, they first think of hwang yeonji, because who doesn't know of her? the twins are almost a packaged deal and it doesn't help that yeonji is the more outgoing one. but behind yeonji lies yeojin, the softer of the hwang twins.

yeojin is a total sweetheart, kind and gentle. charming in his own way, the younger twin is easy to please and he's always careful of his words. he'd never hurt someone on purpose, it being not in his nature. he's always up and wanting to help others, just to see a smile on their face which ties in well with his loyalty. much like a cute little puppy, he is loyal to the ones he loves and is close to. he's always on his friends side and always ready to stand up for them. he respects his friends space, but is always there if they need someone to lean on.

another thing very noticeable in yeojin is that he's hardworking and passionate. he's committed to his dreams and will continue walking straight ahead until he gets it. he's determined and ready to overcome obstacles in order to see his dreams come true. and his passion shows in many ways. he shows his enthusiasm in different ways than his sister, telling others just what he likes, but open to others' likes as well. others enjoy seeing the way yeojin is so passionate for things loves and likes, like dancing or his love for his favorite group. they know its his life and it's the force pushing him forward.

yeojin is a helpless romantic, whether he shows it or not. it's in the way he subtlely acts. always sighing when reading about the newest romantic movie or making longing eyes at couples walking by. he even tends to make comments, after watching a show, how the guy could of made the date more romantic (before sputtering afterwards and trying to deflect). maybe it's a bit childish, in the way he wishes for those kinds of sugary sweet romances. being doted on in his younger days might have something due to it. sometimes it shows in the way he cries way more than one should, being much more sensitive than others his age. many things can set him off into tears. and his sensitivity shows a softness, a gentleness that his sister tends to not show. he's much quieter and calmer than his sister (unless, you really get him started on something he loves...)

being constantly compared to someone, yeojin has grown used to the little feeling inside of him. insecurity eats away at him almost constantly. insecure in his talents, in his whole being. he always feels like he's not good enough, especially standing next to his sister. which is where his perfectionism comes in. he tends to overwork himself, becoming too hardworking. he always yearns for perfection, to be like his sister. his dancing is never enough, not like visuals which everyone comments on.

and his yearning for perfection comes his stubborness. much like his sister, they both share a bull-headedness. he's one that probably would never ask for help until he's left alone, crying for it. and he's reactive, especially in his emotions. one would call him emotional and others would call him dramatics, but yeojin has always been the more emotional twin. he shows many of them: happy, sad, mad. maybe they come off stronger, but that's how he's always been. botttling up his emotions doesn't make it better either, just making them burst out of him stronger.

BACKGROUND

may 5th, 2000, the hwang family was blessed with the birth of yeonji and yeojin. truth be told, the expecting couple had originally been hoping for a baby girl only to get a surprise in finding out that it wasn't just a baby girl, but also a baby boy. thankfully, it wasn't bad news and welcomed the addition of yeojin with no problem.

the twins were practically inseparable, but it was easy to see that yeojin was the smaller twin, especially as they began to grow up. as yeonji slid into her role as the big sister, yeojin was fine with being the younger twin. he grew used to being the one doted on the most. the one that was protected.

unlike his sister, yeojin was a bit more studious. he didn't have the high energy levels yeonji had and such had no yearning to be as active as her. yeojin had a harder time in school, mainly always being compared to his sister. "why are you so small?" "why don't you do sports like yeonji?" "you're a boy, aren't you?" those were comments yeojin always heard in school, but he tried not to let it bother him, especially when he would catch up with yeonji and her neverending spirit that brought him happiness.

he was yearned to have the fanbase his sister had, noticing how many boys and girls would be attracted to her energy and warming aura. it reminded him of how fans adore their favorite kpop singers.

yeah, yeojin liked watching kpop. he always enjoyed hearing the music and watching idols dancing and singing on stage. he loved watching how happy most of them were, especially when they saw their fans. it was something that yeojin yearned for, to have people find him important. just like their classmates with his sister.

it was something he definitely wanted.

so while yeonji got into sports, he told his parents he wanted to dance. nothing in particular, just dance in general. he started dance lessons at 1million and that was the start of his dream.

RELATIONSHIPS

►   hwang yeonji   -- twin sister, 2000

yeonji is his twin sister, older by five minutes. they partically share most of their face, but that's where the similarities end. while he is much softer like a gentle breeze, yeonji is the personification of fire. yeonji has alwas felt like an older sister to him and they've always been close. despite their differences, they still find a way to mesh together. he's always talking yeonji's ear off, but she never brushes him off and is always listening to him. 

yeojin is protective of his sister more in the way of wanting to stop others from using her. yeonji has a tendency to always see the good in everyone and that's just the first step into using her kindness. it upsets him when that happens and is always warning yeonji to be careful.

► rejection -- his most serious fear. he hates rejection. rejection of not being friends or perhaps...rejection from the one he might possibly love.

► bugs & insects -- not as serious, but yeojin loathes bugs and will scream at the sight of them. yes, they will make him cry. he hates bugs.

TALENTS

► n-igma fanboy -- he has n-igma's discography memorized. not a joke.

► dancing -- yeojin's dancing style is fluid, contemporary shown in it much more than other styles, but he's fairly knowledgeable in other styles.

► smell -- he has a pretty sensitive nose, especially when it comes to spice. he just knows when a dish or snack is spicy and he will vehemently refuse eating it.

► photography -- one does not simply become a fansite admin and not be good at photography. he definitely has a good eye for portrait style photos.

TRIVIA

► yeojin is a major n-igma fanboy, haejin biased. (yes, yeojin may or may not have almost fainted when he met him at prism entertainment...and then almost fainted again when he was told he was going to debut with him).

► he shares matching phone cases with his sister. he made an off-hand comment about how cute they were and then his sister bought them.

► yeojin carries a haejin photo card in his phone case, he's always kept it close to him because it was his only haejin photo card and considers it his lucky charm. he tries to keep it hidden, too embarrassed to tell the other members (especially haejin).

► yeojin has a HUGE sweet tooth. there is never not a time when yeojin isn't seen with some kind of sweet confectionary in his hands.

► before n-igma, yeojin was a fan of 2pm. he enjoyed seeing how manly they were, burning visuals and the like. he wanted to be like them. (yes, he was definitely taecyeon biased).

► unlike his sister, yeojin is technology saavy and it shows. he had a instagram account while he was just a dancer at 1million (@jin.jin.yeoooox) where he posted a multitude of different things from selfies to coffee drinks to friends. this instagram account went private when he became a prism trainee.

► he also had a twitter account (@n_ergiezzzking) that was connect to the fansite that he was an admin of. it went abandoned when he became a trainee under prism.

► before they are allowed their own instagram accounts, yeojin for sure will be using it a lot. yeojin loves taking pictures and updating and talking to the fans.

STAGE NAME

► yeao -- pronounced as 'yea-oh' and it's a play on of the 'yeo' in his name. he came up with the name by just randomly writing out his name in different ways until he came up with yeao.

TRAINING BACKGROUND

he was only twelve when he began to dance and even though he was not a natural dancer, yeojin was determined to improve.

a lot of instructors were endeared by his passion, his passion to succeed. he was such a young boy, a young boy that wanted to show the world he could do something. and he didn't let one style stop him, he was always trying to learn all different styles, wanting to just learn.

yeojin put all his blood, sweat, and tears into his dancing. starting from the bottom was definitely hard. it only got harder for him when his sister decided to join his dance lessons. it was not his sister's fault, but how could one compare to someone with natural talent?

to say the least, it was not a surprise when his sister ended up getting scouted by an entertainment company. he encouraged her to go, of course. what kind of brother would he be if he didn't? but it didn't stop the jealousy churning inside of him, insecurity eating at him. he even heard dancers around them. "i bet yeojin could get scouted by visuals alone...at least he has that."

while his sister trained under an official company, yeojin focused entirely on dancing. he was going to be better. he was going to surpass people's expectations. he was going to follow his sister's footsteps and no one would stop him.

he was no longer in the learner's classes, finding himself in the stronger ones. instructors were impressed to see how dancing became like breathing. they watched a young child grow into a dancing machine.

finally, finally, in early 2019, everything came full circle. another scouter, from prism entertainment. he was given a card, just like his sister. this was it, what he has always wanted. all his hardwork for this moment.

he wasn't going to pass it up.

much like his sister, training under an official company was definitely different. much like how he started dancing, yeojin had no more training for vocals and it was quick to see that yeojin wasn't going to be much of a singer...but thankfully, an instructor had suggested him to try rapping and that's where he showed more talent.

he wasn't no high school rapper or show me the money, but he didn't care if he wasn't. his main talent was in dancing after all, but he was great for an idol rapper.

 

PRE-DEBUT EXPERIENCE

► 1million -- along with her twin, the both of them started out dancing at the popular dance academy 1million. due to yeonji being scouted earlier, yeojin was featured in more videos than she was.

► fansite -- in 2018, yeojin became an admin for a n-igma fansite. he went under a pen name and never showed his face in pictures, but it's not that hard to tell that it is him. he left his admin position when prism ent scouted him.

MEDIA PRESENCE

almost like his sister, he didn't have mainstream popularity. he was never seen on a survival show or in an old group like his other vesper members. he became quite popular through 1million videos, one of the few netizens watched go from being seen in the learner's class to showing up in choreo ones. mostly his visuals and small body became a focus to most fans, wanting to know exactly who was this pretty boy.

he'd get minor popularity due to the fact that, yes, he is yeonji's twin brother and, yes, he was also an admin of a n-igma fansite.
