APPEARANCE soobin's quite taller than most girls her age however that makes her look lanky in comparison. she doesn't have obvious curves and has an almost flat chest. she has light skin, v-shaped face, heart-shaped lips with a beauty mark below it on her left side, structured nose, and prominent eyes. she wears very light makeup that consists of bb cushion, eyebrow pencil, blush, one eye base color, and lip tint. though what makes her stand out the most is her bob cut hair that's dyed to a shiny silver. soobin had sported long waist-length hair all her life until the summer before her freshman year of uni where she impulsively went to the salon and cut it short. and just a month before starting uni, she dyed it to the new hair look she currently has.

FASHION STYLE soobin mostly tends to dress warmly and flowy. so it's usually simple t-shirts or sweaters paired with high waist trousers or jeans or shorts with a belt sometimes then finally a pair of sneakers or boots or derbies. then she'd sometimes accessorize with gold necklaces. while all her clothes are women pieces, it's styled in a gender neutral way and that can make her be mistaken as a boy, which is often the case.

🌼 it’s none to say, being compared to her exemplary older brother all her life did mess her up a bit. she hates it but she has developed a certain sense of inferiority towards him. soobin loves sejoon with all her heart but deep down she can’t help but feel small when she is around him. when normal judgments doesn’t hinder her, the mention of sejoon brews a burning passion inside her. that is when she becomes sensitive and irritable. when everyone thinks she is a strong independent girl, what many don't know is that soobin can be fragile and has a breaking point, she is just good at masking it.

BACKGROUND
🌼 soobin is the second and youngest child to the lee family.
🌼 she was born in jeju island and lived there until her first year of high school when her family moved to seoul cause her father had to take on the family business’ seoul division.
🌼 her paternal family owns a biomedical engineering company largely known as lee medical systems or lee meds in short that specializes in prosthetics. her older brother sejoon is set to inherit the company after their father.
🌼 her grandfather founded the company after studying abroad and introduced biomed after coming back home. lee meds was one of the first biomedical companies in east asia.
🌼 so ever since she was born, her parents have been expecting nothing but perfection from them even at a young age.
🌼 despite the obvious pros and benefits of being filthy rich and family owning a multi-million company, there are severe cons to it too like the constant pressure to living up to the high expectations put on both her and sejoon which often stresses them out.
🌼 unlike sejoon who lived up to the perfect child facade to satisfy not only their parents but their entire family, soobin was always more outspoken, carefree and true to herself.
🌼 and so, it was evident that taming soobin was futile and that she won’t be fulfilling her parents' dream and following their wishes.
🌼 because soobin isn’t the goody-two-shoes like her brother, she is often overshadowed by him. many would say she’s the black duck of the lee family. her snobby cousins even go as far as calling her an abomination which sejoon always heed them with a warning glare. all that shunning just because she doesn’t share similar future plans of following the family legacy, isn’t pretentious like them, and isn’t lady-like enough. doesn’t take no from anyone and voices out her opinions clearly.
🌼 soobin is aware that sejoon following the path chosen for him by their parents is him taking the bullet in order for her to take up her own path without too much trouble and pursue her passion. she is eternally grateful to him for that but at the same time she pities him for taking all the family pressure and duties upon himself.
🌼 her senior year came the time her mother dreaded most, soobin rebelled on her parents and bluntly told them that she will choose to major in literary arts after she graduates, wanting nothing to do with lee meds. after a blowout, her father threatened to financially cut her off if she were to continue with her “childish behavior”.
🌼 soobin does have a small soft-spot for her mother and so she thought she’d at least apply to jju to ease a bit the heat and backlash her mother will no doubt get from her husband’s family.
🌼 she may not be as social and popular like her brother is but she always high grades, so it was no surprise when she got into jju too.
🌼 soobin’s grandfather, father, uncle, aunts and cousins all went to jju. so, the lee siblings both being enrolled in the university was expected.
🌼 she is looking forward to starting a new chapter of her life, away from any family scrutiny and just chasing after her dream.

🌼 soobin wouldn't mind either a double or triple room. she's not too high-maintenance and doesn't mind any type of roommate as long as they don't leave the room looking like a hodgepodge. a bonus would be if they are friendly and approachable for soobin is hoping to be close to her roommates and share adventures with each other.

🌼 soobin has classes everyday of the week. whilst she has two classes on mondays, tuesdays and thursdays, she has three on wednesdays and only has one on fridays. however, on tuesday she has her weekly club meeting for factpress where they work on the campus newspaper. and on monday, wednesday, and friday, she'd be working her part-time job at the campus central library. on weekends, soobin has no classes or volunteering to do, so she's mostly free on those two days.
🌼 on week days, after she's done with classes, clubwork and part-time job, soobin would usually be found in the library either studying, doing her coursework, or reading. soobin would spend so much time there to the point where the librarian herself has to kick her out. "go away and enjoy your youth, kiddo. no buts, now shoo." occasionally, she'd be doing the same thing in her dorm which sometimes annoys her roommates, telling her to "chill and have fun once in awhile". despite her utter refusal to go to the parties the jju students hold, she'd sometimes find herself being dragged to them and she'd be awkwardly sitting on a couch there.
🌼 when she's done with her coursework, she'd either be watching animation movies or going around taking pictures with her camera or chilling and reading at the lawn near the student center. she'd also sometimes hang out with her friends or roommates at daesung lake or in their dorm when they're in a lazy mood.

grumpy and disgruntled old miser is what soobin would describe her grandfather. like who is he to always look so all high and might and what right does he have to constantly be judging and terrorizing every single family member. cross that, not just family members but other people in general. despite how badly she thinks of the old man, she'd never say that to his face (she'd honestly love to but then she'd never hear the end of it from her parents). ever since she was little, her grandfather paid her no heed but it wasn't anything special since he's like that with mostly everyone. until now, soobin's grandfather treats her with little existence. but you know what, she really doesn't care.

now this is the parent that soobin interacts with the most. yubin is an overzealous mother who wants her kids to be ideal in order to gain the favor of her father-in-law. soobin understands her mother's obsession with being on her grandfather's good side but she hates that her mother confirms to all his commands despite his bad treatment towards her. she knows that her mother doesn't want her kids to go through the hazing of the family that she's been through for being of a lower status and not confirming to their familial norms, so she pitties her and tries to let the woman have her way from time to time. as overbearing her mother can be most times, soobin still loves and appreciates her mother for caring for her unconditionally (unlike her father).

soobin would say that her brother is the closest family member to her. the two siblings are like any typical siblings. they'd bicker and argue a lot, with her telling sejoon off for his f-boy ways and sejoon always getting irritated with her oblivious nature. yes, he's the overprotective kind of brother and always makes sure that the campus playboys stay away from her (soobin once joked about how he's great at spotting his "own kind"). he doesn't want her to go through heartbreak and truly wants his sister to meet her “soulmate” and fall in love just like she dreams of, as cliche as that sounds. just like how she feels the pressure from her parents, sejoon goes through it too and even worse. soobin knows and has witnessed first-hand how much it takes a toll on sejoon with their father being especially hard and strict on him leading him to anxiety attacks. and sejoon isn't like soobin, the type to speak up, but instead bottles up his real emotion and puts up a facade. he admires how headstrong, daring and free-spirited soobin is. “don’t ever bend and let them change that about you.” he’d always tell her with a wistful smile. despite her rebellion from their parents, the siblings don't let that put a strain on their relationship and love and care for each other.

she met wonbin through sejoon as the two boys hit it off and became friends since their first year in jju. the two spent most if not all of their time together, being stuck to the hip. to the point where if one didn't know the two well enough and their natural habit of getting into one’s personal space and sweet-talking, they could mistake the two close friends as a couple with the way they act sometimes. funny enough, their friend group even once jokingly gifted them newly-weds matching robes as a present and the two wore the robes with no shame. bromance to the core. often did wonbin come over and stay at the lee resident during their holidays and soobin got the pleasure of spending much delighted time with the older male and got to know his splendid self - sejoon 2.0 minus the intelligence. note the sarcasm. despite how he may press her buttons sometimes, soobin considers him like her second older brother. he takes care of her like she’s his own lil sister, teases her for being a geek, gives unsolicited dating and life advice, pesters her to take good pictures of him for his ig, and whatnot. wonbin also is jealous of the lee siblings relationship. he is very outspoken and always speaks up about it so they both know well to appreciate it.

🌼 factpress : jju's news club. soobin wasn't interested in joining any clubs, that is until she finds interest in one and puts her chances on that. it's a tough competition getting into factpress, though it's expected with their online news website being popular amongst the students. and with her skills, she gets in. she gets put as an english translator where she translates the worldwide english news scripts into korean and a photographer on the side. with soobin proving to be one of the best photographers in the crew, that is the job that she mostly will get. it will take soobin some time to get used to and open up to the members, but later she will consider them as her friends. the strong smell of coffee lingering in the air, jihyo constantly nagging the slackers, jisung having a one-man party in his zone, and seungkwan binge-watching dramas instead of working; these are all things that soobin will love about factpress. though she’d gladly stuff a tissue into yeri’s mouth every time she’d ramble about the latest gossips in campus.

🌼 part-time job : soobin's father kept to his word and actually financially cut her off when she decided to major in english language and literature instead of anything business or science. and while her mother covered the tuition and dorm fees, she needs to cover the rest of her spendings on her own and she refuses to let her mother pay any more or take an allowance from sejoon. while her savings may help her go by the first 3 months, she decides to take on a part-time job. out of all options, she was best suited for working in the campus' central library. while many warn her about how the old librarian is a pain to work with, soobin doesn't succumb. she quickly grasps the woman's rules and follows them to the t, even proving to be a useful employee; properly cataloguing and keeping track of library materials, adequately advising students on academic materials for their courses and etc. even the difficult librarian will be thrown off guard at how competent soobin is.

🌼 overall : soobin just wants to start a fresh beginning in the path to pursuing her dream free of the past restrictions and hurdles that held her back. she want to experience the university life; make new friends, enjoy classes, join a club, participate in student life activities, and if lucky enough maybe even meet a potential lover. she mainly wants to get out of her comfort zone by venturing, making new friends, experiencing new things and self discovering.

"hello, i'm lee soobin. i'm 19 years old, freshman. i love reading, playing board games and taking photos." she smiles awkwardly, thinking if her introduction was enough.

OUT OF ALL THE COLLEGES IN KOREA, WHY DID YOU PICK JEJU UNIVERSITY AND WHY YOUR MAJOR?

"pick?" she repeats and almost let out a scoff but held herself and just smiled. "the family legacy has to go on. as for my major, well, i've loved reading english books and been passionate about literature ever since i was young, so the choice came almost natural." she answers.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?

being a big vision long-term person, soobin answers immediately, her answer prepared in her head, "probably working as a translator hopefully for one of the major companies. also, by then maybe holding an exhibit for my photography to share with others."

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE YOUR BIGGEST STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES?

"hmm, strengths and weaknesses." soobin takes a bit longer contemplating in her mind before she answers. "it's kinda weird saying this about myself but i'd say my two greatest strengths are my deep loyalty to the people i care about and i'm always true to myself." she chuckles awkwardly. "as for my weaknesses, i'd say that i can be too stubborn with my thoughts and beliefs sometimes and i am aware that i trust easy and tend to think positively about people i just met which isn't always good." she chuckles worriedly as she scratches her head, shortly reminiscing a memory before shaking her head.

AS A FRESHMAN YOU WILL RESIDE IN CHUNGSAM HALL, WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A ROOMMATE? ANY LIFESTYLE HABITS THAT YOU FIND INTOLERABLE?

"it's gonna be a change, to be honest. i've never really had a roommate or had to share a room with someone else, so this will all be new to me. although, i am excited to dive into the whole university experience that includes living in a dorm and having a roommate. i honestly don't know what to expect but i'm not too picky of a person. as long as they're nice people and won't leave the place looking like a hog, i'm good."
