STYLE Kanalia likes to call her style a hobo style because she wears sweats and oversized things all the time. She’s not very stylish. At the dorms she dresses similar but she wears really cute socks. Even if it’s hot she wears a hoodie. She will walk around in socks and sandals all the time.

BACKGROUND

Joobin was born in Daejeon South Korea to a normal family. She is the middle child of three sisters. Her mom was a stay at home mom while her dad worked as a banker. Her family was very traditional since her mom didn’t work. Her oldest sister is very athletic and competitive so she is closest to her dad and her mom is closest to her younger sister who is really girly and like her. Joobin got lost in the mix so instead she found a love for video games. She escaped by going to the gaming cafés and in high school school she learned how to code in a class and really fell in love with it. She spent hours a day isolated from her family coding or gaming instead of spending time with them. She was really the black sheep of the family. It’s not that it hurt their relationship but She wanted to go to Jeju University because it is so separated and her family are less likely to visit her.

Joobin may look soft but she is very determined. When she wants to do something there is no stopping her. Usually she will just mind her business and stay isolated. She just wants to learn more about coding so she will talk to others about that. Without that she is really fine with just her one friend so maybe she can seem cold. Don't provoke her becausse then you woke up a monster. She is open with her opinions and doesn't like being suppressed or underestimated. She is still respectful though. She doesn't see like with rose tinted glasses so she finds many things people talk about uninteresting. Her comments will usually snap those back into reality. She is really smart and likes to do research on many worldly topics. She is sarcastic when she talks and maybe condescending vibe so Kanalia has to apologize for her sometimes. Deep deep deep down she is very caring and wants her friends to be happy. She was the ignored middle child so she likes equality for all.

Joobin loves Kanalia a lot, they've been friends since middle school. There are many things Kanalia does that no one else would get away with. They don't have many similar intersts but instead do things to compromise for each other like Joobin will watch a kdrama with her and Kanalia watches some anime. DIRECTION Joobin is looking forward to be around people that have similar interest as her, finally. But instead she is face with ism and discrimination since its rare for girls to be in computer engineering. Hi I'm Lee Joobin. I code and like gaming I guess.

out of all the colleges in korea, why did you pick jeju university and why your major?

I wanted to get away from my family. They aren't bad, just too happy and annoying.

where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Probably getting paid by the cops to tap into a drug lords computer.... I'm just kidding. It's only a dream..

what would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

I guess my strength is my determination. My sister says my weakness is the dark cloud that's constantly over my head. I call it being realistic.

as a freshman you will reside in chungsam hall, what do you look for in a roommate? any lifestyle habits that you find intolerable?

I already know I'll dorm with my friend. I just hope the other person isn't too koud because she's already a voice major.

what are you looking forward to the most as an incoming freshman?

Joining a coding club of some sorts and taking classes. So far I've only been self taught so I'm happy to learn more.
