Choi Seunghwa's intelligence is not something to underestimate. She has always been an example student in school, never failing to miss class or an assignment, but at the same time, she knows what the situation is at hand and takes it into accountability. She is quick on her feet and is able to come up with an answer almost instantly. Seunghwa being passionate is also a given, especially about music. It's her main form of communication, if you want to get to know her on a deeper level without talking to her, just listen to her music; that's how passionate she can be. Going off her intelligent trait, it is no surprise that she is resilient. Seunghwa has a sense of control to whatever situation at hand and knows how to solve it diligently. It’s how she's moralistic. Seunghwa follows the rules diligently that she has already made up for herself and others. But while she is generally open minded to things, Seunghwa shows signs of being disappointed when things don't go her way to because she already had a vision of what a situation might be. Seunghwa is also a perfectionist. She pays attention to every little detail and tries her best to fix it to the point where she over thinks the detail, sending her into a spiral. Seunghwa can be hard to befriend when you first meet her due to her being evasive. She is very vague when asked a personal question, and tries to change the subject as it makes her uncomfortable. BACKGROUND

Choi Seunghwa was born on May 2nd, 1997 in Daegu, South Korea to her parents and has two older brothers; Choi Seungmin who is 4 years older and Choi Seungcheol who is 2 years older than her.
To put it simply, Seunghwa's upbringing was no different than your average Korean kid. She excelled in school and in after school programs, and had a decent amount of friends. But at the end of the day, Seunghwa kept to herself majority of the time and relied heavily on her parents and brothers for various things.
From a young age, Seunghwa has always been interested in singing and music. She was in her school's choir and all other music related subjects. But to her, music wasn't something she would think to pursue career wise, but it was definitely a backup plan if she wanted a career in music.
That was the case for a while until her brother, Seungcheol, wanted to pursue music as well. The siblings had vastly different interests growing up, but music was something that they had in common. It was still a surprise to Seunghwa that he wanted to be an idol. And when he was 14 years old, Seungcheol moved to Seoul to train at Pledis Entertainment.
Shortly after, Seunghwa thought about becoming an idol as well. I mean, if Seungcheol could do it, why wouldn't she do it? With her parents permission, Seunghwa started to seek out companies and audition for as many companies as she could, accepting the first company that was willing to accept her, which was coincidentally Pledis Entertainment.
Despite Seungcheol's wishes, Seunghwa went on to audition to Pledis Entertainment in late 2012, where she got accepted into the company and started her idol journey.

FASHION If there is one word to describe Seunghwa's fashion style, it would be "businesswomen." She likes to layer her outfits with jackets and wear high waisted pants. She doesn't like to wear anything too revealing when she dresses herself, especially around her neck because she says "I want to protect my throat from the cold weather." She usually wears her hair down and she always had bangs, but sometimes she puts her hair in a low ponytail. 　∼ She rarely listens to other K-POP groups, so she is not knowledgeable with any songs unless it's from the 2nd generation of groups. Her favorite group is SNSD and Kara.

TRAINEE YEARS 5¼ Years at Pledis Entertainment ︰ 3¼ Years prior to 16TV.
　∼ When Seunghwa entered Pledis, she was your average trainee, nothing really special about her other than that she is Seungcheol's younger sister. Because of this, most of the staff and trainees expected her to follow in her brother's footsteps and become a rapper, but she did not. She was more interested in singing and soon decided to make it her mission to become the best vocalist within the industry.
And so she did. She would spend hours upon hours pushing herself to beyond her limits in the terms of her vocals, whether it be locking herself in a small practice room and living off water and granola bars or hogging Pledis' vocal trainer for herself. She was rarely seen in 16TV on her own terms, but you would often hear her belting out lyrics to a random song once it a while.
Luckily for Seunghwa, her pushing herself far beyond her limit hasn't affected her health and vocal cords — yet. She regularly has check ups with a vocal specialist to make sure there is no long term damage.
When Sixteen's debut became in fruition, it was no suprise that Seunghwa would be the vocal unit captain as well as the main vocalist; she wouldn't know what to do with herself if she wasn't chosen for those positions. She is determined to do her best more than ever before.

HEADLINES

PREDEBUT
　∼ Orange Carmel's "My Copycat" MV ︰ Seunghwa was one of the many backup dancers in Orange Carmel's "My Copycat" along with the members of Pristin and Seventeen. ︰ 2014.
　∼ Seventeen's "Mansae" MV ︰ Seunghwa along with some Sixteen and Pristin members where extras in Seventeen's "Mansae" MV. She herself was only in a few shots, and doesn’t talk about the experience very often. ︰ 2015.
　∼ 16TV ︰ Honestly, Seunghwa wasn't on board with 16TV when Pledis first announced the project. For the past couple months leading up to 16TV, Pledis had been placing Seunghwa in both Pledis Girlz and the Sixteen lineup to see what group she was a better fit in. In the end, they place her in the latter group.
Seunghwa knew that the company was infamous for abandoning projects, and she expected they do just that for Sixteen and focus on Pledis Girlz instead. They relied on Seventeen and their accomplishments as a group too much to make Sixteen even get some attention, so Seunghwa knew exactly what they were doing by placing her specifically in the group. But Seunghwa was not the type to say or do anything that would get her in trouble, so she just kept quiet and did what she was told to do.
During the duration of 16TV, Seunghwa tried not to be the center of attention to the best of her ability. She did her best to keep training normally as she did not like being on camera, let alone being live to thousands of people every week. Many people including her fellow Sixteen trainees thought that Seunghwa was close to leaving the program to be a regular trainee or work behind the scenes instead. But of course, Seunghwa is still here, ready to debut with eleven other females as Sixteen.
Over the course of the two years that 16TV was airing, Seunghwa became more comfortable in front of everybody, especially when it came to the viewers. There was no definitive moment this happened, it just naturally occurred. It had been clear to almost everyone that Seunghwa was ready to become an idol, especially as the Vocal Unit leader and the main vocalist of Sixteen. ︰ 2016-2018.
　∼ OSTs ︰ Seunghwa would sometimes record OSTs for dramas and films, both by herself and with Sixteen, but mostly by herself. She considers it a privilege to lend her voice for a soundtrack. 　∼ Producing Songs for other Artists ︰ Similar to Jihoon, Seunghwa would like to produce songs for other artists other than Sixteen and Seventeen, and HYBE in general. ︰ 2018-20XX.
　∼ Duets with Woozi ︰ Both Jihoon, Seunghwa, and Pledis agreed that since they work well together, the two would start releasing duets together by popular demand, which cause dating rumors between them. Song examples: Star Blossom, Starlight, Warning.︰ 2018-202X.
　∼ Wonwoo X Mingyu - Bittersweet (ft. Sehwa) ︰ Seunghwa was originally on the production team for this song, and had recorded a vocal guide since they wanted a female voice to accompany Wonwoo and Mingyu. But after contacting some potential vocalists in the industry, the production thought Seunghwa fitted the vocals and had her be an official feature on the single and starred in the music video. ︰ 2021.
　∼ Solo Career ︰ Seunghwa wants to have a solo career, so a few years into Sixteen's career Pledis gave her the opportunity to do so. Her debut song will be Plant, along with a mini album. Her ultimate goal is to have a solo concert.︰ 202X.

HEADLINES
　∼ Sixteen's Sehwa Will Take a Vocal Rest from Upcoming Promotions ︰ As Sixteen was preparing to promote their comeback song, Seunghwa had officially strained her vocal chords just days before their first live performances. Her doctor recommended that it would be best to let Seunghwa rest her vocals as well as a possible surgey, so Pledis let her have some time off for the duration of the promotions and other activities until she fully heals. However, she developed mild depression and anxiety during this time as she felt useless to Sixteen with her not being able to perform with them, putting her on further hiatus and treatment until she felt better. ︰ 202X.

SCANDALS
　∼ Pledis Entertainment Denies the Dating Rumors of Seventeen's Woozi and Sixteen's Sehwa ︰ It was bound to happen, two groups of opposite genders frequently spending time together? Netizens eat the dating rumors up, but especially when it involves Seunghwa, since she was notably more close to Seventeen.
The other victim of the dating scandal was none other than Jihoon. The public already knew how close they were during their mentorship and thereafter, so they just naturally assumed that they had something going on, even though both Jihoon and Seunghwa have a strictly platonic friendship.
The rumors built up over the years as netizens provided baseless "evidence" to back it up, but Pledis immediately shut the rumors down between the friends. Of course, the rumors caused very awkward moments between Jihoon and Seunghwa, and even some jealousy with Wonwoo. ︰ 202X.

MENTOR

BIRTHNAME Lee Jihoon, 이지훈.
BIRTHDATE November 22nd, 1996.

FIRST MEETING Seunghwa met Jihoon when she was first a trainee, but the meeting really didn't have an impact on each other. It wasn't until 17TV started when they really got to know each other.
When Jihoon started to produce songs with Bumzu as his mentor, he suggested to Seunghwa that she should do the same as well. Jihoon became a pseudo mentor to her during 16TV, so it wasn't that much of a shock to Seunghwa when she found out that Jihoon was her mentor for the show.
INTERACTIONS The two have a sibling-like relationship. Majority of the Seventeen members have that with Seunghwa, but Jihoon in particular. Jihoon actually mentored Seunghwa during 16TV sometimes, mainly to get the basics of producing music.
Because of this headstart, they were ahead of the game as opposed to the other members of the vocal unit. They work fast and well together.
Even after the show, they contact each other often. Seunghwa would mainly go first, sending him voice notes of a song that she was working on, getting his opinion. They also contact each other on their birthdays and holidays.

TRIVIA
　∼ They are really close and have agreed to dropped formalities. Seunghwa often calls him Jihoon as she is used to it.
　∼ The two are most likely the pair that gets shipped the most between the two groups.

AFTER YEARS OF 16TV, YOU'RE FINALLY DEBUTING! HOW DOES IT FEEL?
　∼ she takes a minute to answer the question, as she tried not to think about 16tv too much since it ended Um, I guess I feel relieved. 16TV was... an interesting experience for me, not going into too much detail. she presses her lips together in an awkward grin I'm just glad that we can finally debut. I believe we are 100% ready to debut, we deserve it, after all.

SEVENTEEN WILL BE YOUR MENTORS THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT? WHO IS YOUR MENTOR, AND WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT HIM?
　∼ I've known Seventeen sunbae-nim for many years, even my whole life in one case. she nervously chuckles to herself So I positively know that they will be a big help to us in any which way. My mentor is Ji- I mean Woozi oppa, and I've worked with him before, so it would personally feel not that different.

PERSONALITY Wonwoo is an insightful person. He engages in whatever situation at hand, knowing what the right thing to do and the right thing to say. With this, he is altruistic. He truly cares about others feelings and puts their feelings above his own. Wonwoo is also principled, as he lives by his own rules and won't let anyone alter them. In short, Jeon Wonwoo is someone who is independent and truly cares for the people who are in his life.
However, Wonwoo tends to be reluctant, as he is often hesitant to do what he's told. He is also deeply afraid of commitment, in which is hard if you want to get to know him better. He is also blunt, giving his opinions with no filter, which more times than not comes off as being negative. He's honest, but can be too honest with his opinions. And finally, even though he doesn't show it, Wonwoo tends to get emotional. He tries to not let his emotions get the better of him, and often hides it, giving off the "emo" vibe.

HISTORY Seunghwa clearly remembers the day she and Wonwoo met as if it was just yesterday.
It was one of Seunghwa's first days as a trainee, and Seungcheol was taking her to Seventeen's practice room to meet them and jokingly make the "don't fall for my sister unless you want to die" speech. Shyly, Seunghwa introduced herself and made some small talk to the then trainees. And though she takes a long time to show her true self to new people, there were a couple of guys that somehow knew the right words to do so; one of them being Jeon Wonwoo.
Despite both of their introverted personalities, they got along well pretty quickly. They had the fact that they liked to read books as well that they prefer ballads in common, so the two would often exchange book and song recommendations to each other. Their friendship didn't really change that much when Seventeen debuted, even though they were both busy with Seventeen and 16TV, they somehow found time to hang out with each other and talk.
It wasn't until recently that they realized that they had feelings for each other that were built up over the years. The day was New Years Eve 2017 and Seunghwa was celebrating the new year with Seventeen. The actual celebration for 2018 wasn't that different, to Seunghwa at least. But for Wonwoo, it changed the way that he thought of Seunghwa, because Seunghwa rang into the new year by giving a kiss on Wonwoo's cheek. She didn't really remember anything from that night because she was admittedly a little tipsy, but Wonwoo on the other hand, remembered every second of it.
Since then, Wonwoo has been distant from Seunghwa. He couldn't get the kiss out of his mind and was afraid to confront her. But to Seunghwa, it almost sent her into a spiral because she couldn't figure out as to why Wonwoo was ghosting her. It is now a matter of time that the two confess to each other.

　∼ Basically everyone knows that Wonwoo and Seunghwa has a thing for each other — expect for Wonwoo and Seunghwa.
　∼ Seungcheol was actually not kidding when he said he would kill if they had a thing for Seunghwa. If it someone else outside of Seventeen he'd be fine with her dating, but since he views Seventeen as his family, it's a little too close for Seungcheol's comfort.
