He is also very hard-working and tends to be the first one to arrive at the training room and the last one to leave. He often has to be dragged along by Minjin because otherwise he would overwork himself. He keeps going without any troubles. And people call Minjin the android? Quiet and absentminded: Minjae used to be the life of the party, but that all changed. Now, Minjae is one who says less than necessary. He's very quiet, and when he doesn't need to talk, he simply doesn't. He just doesn't want to talk, and prefers to stay in the back, leaving his presence unknown. Unless when he's on stage of course. The only time when he wants to stand out is when he's on stage doing what he loves. Often, he's also just not listening to the others, drifting into thoughts of his own world. A sparkly imaginary world full of snow where it's only him, Minjin and the people they trust. And Minjae doesn't really trust Spice yet. Heck, he doesn't even really know them. Usually he speaks in a coarse voice on low volume, you can hear the heartbreak with every word he speaks. But he barely does. Especially in the beginning, Minjae will often give Minjin a pleading puppy glance or a tiny whisper, and then she will speak for him. If you thought Minjin was quiet, current Minjae is even quieter. He used to be so talkative and nice as well...
Naive and insecure: This has been lurking all of Minjae's life. He has always been naive, and it made him quite insecure as well. Especially now. He used to trust people too easily, that has improved now, but once you gain his trust, you can basically say anything to him, and he'd believe it. As long as it is you who says it to him. He's always anxious that people are deceiving him or lying to him, and he's anxious about himself as well, but he somehow just keeps on believing. Ever since the events, anxiety chases Minjae everywhere. He's almost constantly in a state of worry. While some people (mostly staff) want to take him to the doctor so he could get some medicine to relax his poor mind, Minjae currently refuses to see a doctor.
Cowardly and neurotic: the things that happened to him left deep scars. Minjae was broken, tainted and just dead inside when he reunited with Minjin. It was so terrible, he was just a ghost of himself. It still shows very well. Minjae has zero courage left, and always has to ask his sister to do things to him. Even killing a spider is too much for him now, while he used to not care at all. He has also returned neurotic. Minjae's mental has become quite unstable. He gets triggered incredibly easy. When in distress, Minjae is so heavily affected that it becomes scary. He goes crazy, starts to tremble, breathes heavily, is unable to properly talk, starts walking around relentlessly. If it gets to the extremes, he even might start pulling his own hair and scratching his cheeks open. It's this bad, yes, and if you don't know how to deal with it, it's real scary. Currently the only ways to calm him down are hugs and calming words from Minjin or Jihae, cuddling the cats, or making him listen to calming songs. Performing on stage usually helps as well. This neuroticism really requires a lot of attention and care from others because it makes Minjae like a ticking time bomb. Neuroticism is known to be able to give physical health problems, and that is visible in Minjae as he has started to develop asthma. It is possible to have neuroticism treated by psychotherapy, psychoactive drugs, relaxation exercises and cognitive behavioral therapy. While Minjin does have some relaxation exercises that she practices with Minjae to calm him down, but as with his anxiety, Minjae currently refuses to see a doctor for help. He will once he feels ready for it, but for now he just doesn't want a doctor to know about what he's suffering from.
▷ BACKGROUND
Minjae was, just like his sister of course, born in Pyeongchang. 6 minutes earlier than little Minjin, and much louder than her. Their parents knew from the first moments that Minjae would be the loud and happy one of the two, and Minjin the calm one. It was just intuition, and they were absolutely right. Minjae was interested in a lot of things at first, and just ran around, Minjin following after him, doing whatever he did. Until the twins started to take a liking to music. it became their only priority, and Minjae went to learn guitar, separating from his sister.
When Minjae discovered TVXQ, he knew what he wanted to become. An idol, just like them. His sister wanted to follow, but their parents thought they were too young, and didn't allow the two to audition yet. When they were 14, they got the green light. Minjae started auditioning. His first try was YG, the company of his dreams, and he got rejected because he didn't really have much skills yet. He had to prepare more for his next audition. Minjae was a bright and optimistic child with lots of friends, so he was over it surprisingly quick. His visuals were amazing, so when he got scouted, he wasn't surprised to hear that it was because of that pretty face of his. It was an unknown company who were gathering their first boy group, and he would be guaranteed a spot. Minjae took the chance and joined them. HO entertainment. It was 2013. As you might know, Minjin auditioned too, but they didn't accept female trainees, so Minjin couldn't go to her brother. But Minjae seemed very happy, so Minjin was happy too. Minjae told her to go audition for YG, so that at least one of the Gook family could be in his dream company. Minjin did, after lots of preparations, and she got accepted. But you know that story. Let's focus more on Minjae's side now.
In 2015, Minjae and four other boys who he really liked made their debut. Wayve was the name. Taola was their debut song. They were doing okay for a debut group, until the song somehow went viral, and the views skyrocketed. They didn't have a win with this song, but they did become one of 2015's monster rookies. They quickly released a mini album with title track Aphrodite and snatched some wins. It was like a miracle. An EXID story but skipped right to the viral famous chapter. With Wayve's newfound fame, a huge new influx of trainees arrived, and HO was happy, because they always wanted a 6-membered group, but couldn't find the 6th member they wanted before. Now they had found the perfect pick, and only a few months after debut, a new member got added. His name was Yongdoo, and that was the moment when it all started to go downhill.
Yongdoo was a well-behaved pure flower boy on camera, and quickly rose to become the most popular member of Wayve. He just stood out so well and was so popular with the fangirls. A real heart stealer, and HO started to favor him heavily. But behind the scenes, behind closed doors, Yongdoo was the worst person Minjae had ever met. Not even the other members knew about it. At moments Yongdoo and Minjae were alone, Yongdoo would harm Minjae, not physically, but mentally. Insults were thrown his way, Yongdoo played mind games with him, did the stuff Minjae didn't like at all on purpose. It was crazy. Yongdoo was so good at mentally cracking Minjae and taking advantage of him. Yongdoo threatened to take it all out on Minjin if Minjae didn't listen, so he had basically become Yongdoo's slave, who couldn't say anything, even to the other members. As a way to take the abuse and numb the pain and emotions, Minjae did something that he deeply regrets. He would throw himself into the alcohol, bottles at a time. It was a well-hidden secret by Minjae, but it was still illegal, as Minjae was a mere FIFTEEN YEAR OLD.
The group made a comeback, which gave them their first #1, and multiple wins at that. Everyone was very statisfied, except for Minjae. Yongdoo started to get more threatening with every success they had. The success got to his head, and the mental abuse changed to physical abuse as well. Yongdoo knew what he was doing very well. He hit Minjae where it would not leave any trace. He 'accidentally' embarassed Minjae on broadcast multiple times, he made a fool of Minjae. He'd act all skinshippy with Minjae at fanmeets and on shows, knowing that it made Minjae tremble. This act Yongdoo would put up made MinDoo the most popular ship of Wayve by a mile. Fans thought they were such a cute pairing. No one noticed a thing. One day, Minjae dared to fight back, and they got into a big fist fight at the dorm, Yongdoo would even end up breaking Minjae's nose. The other members and manager caught them fighting, and great distress came into the group. They were still promoting with their comeback song, and two members were fighting. They had to go talk to the CEO, to see who was at fault. Minjae, who was already a broken man, was unable to talk. He could only bring out coarse squeaks, he couldn't say a word. Yongdoo was the one to talk, and he twisted it that way that it seemed like minjae was at fault, that minjae was the bully and that Yongdoo was the victim. The CEO didn't fully believe him, but since Yongdoo was the big star of Wayve, he decided to kick out Minjae anyway. It created big buzz, Wayve member Minjae leaving because of 'scheduling issues'. The other members of Wayve thought that Minjae was at fault, and they turned against him. The only one that felt like something was fishy was their leader and Minjae's favourite, Haein. Minjae had no choice but to go to Minjin, but he didn't want to show his broken self to his sister, but otherwise, Minjae wouldn't be able to find a way out, and it would probably have ended up with... something way worse. He would've been gone if he didn't have Minjin at that time. She had also forced him off the alcohol, and while it was a hard habit to get rid of, Minjin dragged him through his withdrawal symptoms. Only then Minjae had realised that he became an alcoholic at fifteen, and he developed deep regrets.
As you know, after Minjae rested and calmed down for a bit, recovering from his broken nose, Minjin asked him if he still wanted to be an idol. To Minjin's surprise, she got a full-mouthed yes from him. She could even sense a sprinkle of excitement and warmth in his voice. It made Minjin hopeful that one day, Minjae could be fine, could be the happy, cheerful boy he once was. Minjae auditioned for YG again, and got accepted this time. He didn't say any word for two weeks, only to Minjin, and if he would speak, he would still have a coarse and broken small voice. It was clearly visible to anyone how broken and scarred he was. He was an ice cold blizzard blowing through YG, bringing distress along with him when he was in distress himself. But when he would smile, like once a month at most, the other trainees could all sense warmth. There's still hope, and hope is the most important.

Minjin forced him off as quickly as possible once he knew and dragged her brother through the withdrawal symptoms. Yongdoo is currently the most popular member of Wayve, being a vocalist and visual (he actually stole Lee Hyun's visual title upon joining). I at writing villains but you often hear those idols being big rude bullies scandals, right? While it is often fake, Yongdoo is exactly that. He's a delinquent, a snek, a troublemaker bully. In high school he smoked, drank, took offensive pictures, harassed females for fun and terrorised teachers. When he joined the company, he took on a facade. He was thirsty for fame and grabbed the chance to debut. He's a real charmer so that's why he got picked to be the 6th member of Wayve, and that's also why he got so popular. He knows that about himself. He's intelligent and manipulative and knows perfectly what to do in those situations, making him very sly as well. He is still smoking and drinking while the company has forbidden Wayve to do so (but we know both Haein and Minjae have broken those rules too). Yongdoo was already thinking of targeting Minjae, just because he felt the urge to bully someone again, but when little innocent Minjae caught him smoking and threatened to tell the company, Yongdoo just became really ing mad and that's when the abuse began. Spice will actually be a big blessing to Minjae (and Minjin), because being in this new group WITHOUT ABUSERS will allow him to close the Wayve chapter, replacing his old demons with Spice members. He will never fully heal, but after spending time with Spice and warming up to some of the members, he will slowly start reverting to a new and evolved version of his old sunshine self. He knows that he won't ever be this young boy that doesn't have a single worry in the world, but he could be happy again.
He won't get used to everyone as quick but he will pick out a few members that he will try to befriend first. Yeah he really wants to get to know them but it is just so hard to do at the moment. Yongdoo had gone through a high school bullying scandal right before this, so this was basically the final blow to his career. The Yongdoo exposé™️ will shake up the industry and cause a great uproar. It will be a very rocky time for everyone involved but it will probably end in Minjae finally feeling at ease, Yongdoo being cancelled and crucified by fans and Minjin, and the other Wayve members running to Minjae to drown him in love and welcome him back into their squad (even though he's now a Spice member). He can also do fierce but he isn't as good at it as in his Wayve era, where they did fierce songs. FIRST MEETING:
Before they were put together for Spice, they didn't really know each other. So they properly met for the first time when Spice was created. It took a while for Minjae to start talking, but Sieun was a gentle appearing person, so the twins felt like they could talk to her and trust her quite quick. Minjin was the first one, and befriended Sieun surprisingly quick, and Minjae soon followed suit. She was very nice, soft and polite to the twins from the start, while giving them room to get used to her presence. That made her gain their trust quickly. She was very excited to get to know Minjae because she is a big fan of him. She is also considered an outcast, so they found comfort and friendship in each other.
DEVELOPMENT/LOVE STORY: Sieun will be the first friend from Spice. The first trusted member. Sieun is a big Wayve fan and Minjae biased so she was very excited to be able to talk to him, but she was able to remain calm. She did a similar thing to Deshi when she wanted to befriend the twins, being calm, sweet and giving them the space they need to warm up. That combined with Sieun being a fan and also thinking that something is up with Wayve made her befriend the twins first. She never really liked Yongdoo and got bad vibes from him and the twins know and like to hear that.
As they gradually grew closer, Sieun learned more and more about what happened to Minjae, and grows more and more distraught about everything. But Minjae also starts to show parts of his real personality, bit by bit, he will become sweeter and sweeter. Minjae began to trust Sieun, but he also started to get the doki dokis for that beautiful sweetheart. Her sweetness and care for Minjae, and her way of protecting him from incoming danger aka Kyungjae made Minjae feel at ease with her. Minjin even dares to leave Minjae alone as long as Sieun is around. Both of them developed a liking for Sieun, and Minjae developed a little more than just a liking... But unfortunately, there is a certain mean, masochist standing in the way...
When Minjae decides that it is time to tell Sieun about what happened to him back in Wayve, she is in complete shock. Sieun then makes a promise to protect Minjae and help him through everything, and take down Yongdoo if the right time ever comes. She also becomes one of Haein's communicators and will help out with the Yongdoo exposé™️.
Basically, they both have their own troubles, but are both kind and sweet enough to help the other and provide care and comfort.
INTERACTIONS: Since Minjae knows sign language, they sometimes talk or sometimes switch to sign language, depending on how they are feeling. Especially at the beginning, Minjae sometimes doesn't feel like talking, so he'll communicate with Sieun (and Minjin) in sign language. It is a perfect way for him to be sociable with the two when they are together with the rest of the groups because the twins assume the others don't know what they are saying.
Sieun sometimes hangs out with the twins in their room, away from the others, talking and playing games or playing with the cats. Sieun is the only one that Minjin trusts enough to leave Minjae alone with her. She's like dropping him off at Sieun's room like 'I have to go, will you babysit please-' LKDJFKSLKFJ They are so sweet together, despite being quiet a lot of the times. Whenever one of them achieves something or improves, the other is always full of pride and praise. They want to work together towards becoming a better version of themselves.
ENDING RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Well it depends on how Kyungjae will meddle with this ship cause OF COURSE THAT IS INVOLVED AGAIN! But yeah if Kyungjae doesn't end up with Sieun, this couple will become a thing after a soft confession from Minjae when he is nice and healed.
Seriously why is Kyungjae meddling in again like hello boy?? Also there is a possibility that after having two beautiful princesses after him, he is left sad and alone while Minjin and Sieun are skipping away with their SWEET and CARING boyfriends and while Kyungjae could really become good by the hands of one of the two, this ending would be really statisfying slmdfkjlsm
