PERSONALITY:

ishaan is well known in his tribe, for being the son to a well known scavenger but also for being a huge party boy. its an unspoken thing among the teens of the tribe that ishaan throws the best parties that are somehow never found out due to his great manipulation skills. the people of siwong desert have to work with what they got and ishaan has mastered staying optimistic no matter the circumstances. he doesn't like to see others sad or worrying, he'll try to bring the humor in every situation just to avoid that. he goes around helping random people in the tribe and is polite which has helped him gain such a good reputation. he's the live in the moment kind of guy causing him to be risk prone because he doesn't think about consequence, all he knows is that he wants to have fun and live his best life. 

he's a smooth talker that flirts with every girl he sees. people just gravitate to him because he's so friendly. but no one really knows the true ishaan, his deep thoughts he usually keeps to himself. yeah he's the happy friend but that's all he ever is. no one has ever seen him get upset or cry, the most negative emotion you'll get out of him is when he makes a passive aggressive comment. he's good at staying composed even during tense times.   

ishaan's friendly ways makes him a great manipulator, he just gives off the vibes of being trustworthy. he likes to study others before reacting so he knows how to get the situation to go in his favor. he can smile in your face and sound genuine then use you opening up to him against you, but he's never done that. even though he has the traits of a typical siwong triber, he doesn't use it for bad things. instead using his mischevious ways for good. 

ishaan is an intelligent dude though, if he wasn't he wouldn't be able to know exactly what to say to make you do the things he wants. he knows a lot more than it comes off. he might just seem like a party boy but he has a lot of knowledge on many topics, he probably won't mention it though because he finds it funny when people talk like they know what they're talking about when they really don't.    

BACKGROUND: 

ishaan was born on december 13 in 81AG in the siwong desert. he was the only son to nadia and farouq and the middle child with two sisters. when he was younger he spent time scavenging for items to sell to merchants with his father. his father developed skin cancer when he was five years old and passed away two years later. it got bad fast for him since they didn't really have treatment there but its something that happens often there because of the harsh environment. after farouq's death nadia became very protective of her children, especially ishaan because he was the one roaming outside so often.

with the help of sha-mo nadia was able to keep an eye out on ishaan but that didn't stop him from sneaking outside with ghashiun to have fun and steal some things for extra money. ishaan was a smart kid but his family struggled with money, he didnt just want to sit around and do nothing so at night he snuck out trying to make an extra buck from merchants who was willing to buy the stuff he found with his friends. he convinced his mom that he was tutoring another kid in the tribe which is where he got the money from. well that lie has worked since he hasn't been caught yet. 

when he was 16 he discovered a small mole like mark on his back. it looked awfully similar to the marks that his dad had but he decided to ignore it. over the time of 6 months he went from one mark to about six, depending on the circumstances sometimes they itch and burn. instead of being more cautious he went out more often defying his mother and sha-mo. neither of them or anyone for that matter knew about what was happening under all his clothes. the last thing he wanted to do was make his mom worry because he saw how the news of his father devastated her. it's been two years and he knows the marks are getting worse and they're more painful than ever yet still nobody knows.

☯ he isn't comfortable wearing anything that doesn't cover him up all the way because he doesn't want anyone to know about his marks
☯ he has high pain tolerance because he's been hiding the pain from his skin cancer from a long time. he could be injured right now and act like nothing is happening
☯ the last time he cried was at his dads funeral. from then he promised himself not to let anything get him down because he didn't like that feeling. since then he's been trying to be the light of others lives instead. 
☯ when he sleeps he knocks out bro you have no idea how hard it is for ghashiun to wake him up. gotta check his pulse sometimes because he really doesn't move.

ishaan used to be really close to his dad, he saw him as his hero and wanted to be just like him. he learned sandbending from his father but that was limited. he wishes his dad was still around and when he's off looking for things to sell he'd remember how his dad used to drag him along and he would look at his dad like he was the strongest man on earth.

☯ mother - nadia (40) / chef / motherly, soft, worrisome / 7/10
though she's a chef nadia doesn't make much money from her job, she can't help seeing other hungry if they don't have enough money so she's known for giving out free food. she has a big heart and wants her kids to be safe at all times. ishaan loves his mom with all his heart, giving her a kiss on the cheek before he goes out. but he can't tell her everything for the same reason that she has a big heart. it'll break his heart to see his mom cry the way she did when his dad passed away.

☯ older sister - suhana (20) / unemployed  / serious, caring, overbearing / 8/10
suhana helps their mom with cooking most of the time, she has a fiance named rahi from the misty palm oasis that ishaan can't stand. they bicker a lot but she cares a lot for her annoying little brother. their mom might be oblivious to everything that ishaan is doing but suhana is slowly catching on and she will find out why he's sneaking out at night.

☯ younger sister - nisha (16) / student / adventurous, cute, innocent / 9/10
nisha is similar to her brother, she gets bored easily and wants to have some fun. sometimes ishaan takes nisha with him when he goes scavenging with ghashiun and the others. she's a sandbender too unlike their mom and suhana, a powerful one at that. ishaan gets so proud whenever he sees his litter sister sandbending. a lot of the things they do together are kept secret from mom but suhana is quick to scold them even though she'll keep it a secret from mom too. 

☯ uncle - sha-mo (45) / scavenger / quiet, strict, understanding / 5/10
sha-mo is the brother of farouq and the protective uncle that treat ishaan, suhana and nisha like his own. he's the one that taught them sanbending and gets their food, etc. they live right next to each other. ishaan respects sha-mo and says he'll listen to him even when he won't. ishaan is the only friend of ghashiun that sha-mo likes because he's the least shady but he's just better at hiding it.  

☯ cousin - ghashiun (17) / scavenger / manipulative, confident, cold / 10/10
they're cousins but also best friends. ghashiun is the one that convinces ishaan to sneak out and partake in stealing. ishaan is the only perosn that ghashiun opened up to about his mothers passing and the fact that they both understand that pain only made them closer. ishaan is like an older brother to him if anything, he values ishaan's opinion but that also doesn't mean that he'll listen. though he has more of an influence over him than sha-mo ever will. 

☯ old friend - wan shi tong (old) / knowledge spirit / wise, stubborn, intelligent / 10/10
when he was younger farouq took ishaan to wan shi tong's library to show him all the books and teach him how to read. since then he's been going there on his spare time. after his dad passed he ran away to the library and wan shi tong comforted him telling him a story to calm his tears. ishaan is one of the few humans that wan shi tong can tolerate because he knows his intentions are pure. even though ishaan has learned a lot about different nations, he's never used that information for evil.
