appearance » Haneul stands at  the height of 165 cm and 53 kg. Her skin glows of a natural tan. She's not really your typical Korean beauty, milky white skin and big round eyes, but she likes herself just the way she is. A bit of freckles decorate her nose and upper cheekbones. She has an obsession with coloring her long hair all sorts of quirky colors; baby blue, lavender, turquoise. Recently, she dyed it a soft pink color. She loves to play with make-up, but usually tones down for normal days. Haneul has a nose ring that she got just after graduating highschool. Her body is clear of any tattoos, but she's planning to have them someday.

style » Haneul is a real fashionista. She loves to dress up and play with color, shape, and fabric. She would wear anything from a mesh sweater and ripped jeans, to a colorful dress. One thing's for sure is that the outfit has to make her look stylish and cool. Outfits that makes her look frail and weak are a turn off. She has a soft spot for street wear and hipster fashion. They just seem to compliment her best. Accessories are a must, just to give her outfit that extra oomph.

personality » One of the traits that would describe Haneul greatly is determined. She has the will power to pursue the things she wants until the very end. Her fiery passion motivates her to reach for her dreams no matter what. Doing anything in her power to meet her goals. She is very persistent when she has made up her mind about something. This sometimes causes her to be a little stubborn, in both positive and negative ways. When Haneul can't achieve something she wants, she usually blames herself. Haneul is quite harsh when criticising others, but more so on herself. This is actually very unhealthy for her as it could lead to stress and severe depression. 

Haneul is a very open minded person about almost anything. She is very open to new experiences and try them just for the heck of it. As long as it has nothing to do with reptiles and anything horror related, she's down to try. Haneul is also very open to the diversity of human beings. Everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs, Haneul knows this and she respects other people's differences. She may not always agree, but she won't bash and bully others because of it. Haneul is also open to differents ideas, be it new or old. Again, she may not always be in the same boat as that idea, but she'll just see it as another person's perspective that is different from her own and not really something to bring to conflict.

There are some aspects of Haneul that make her look charming to those around her. One is her charisma. She has a charismatic vibe that makes her seem somewhat regal. People often see her as someone who looks and acts very cool. You can see it from the outfits she wears and how she brings herself. Her second charm is her fun-loving personality. She has the ability to bring the party to life in many situations ("the party don't start 'till I walk in"). She can bring the mood up in a situation and turn it into a party.

background » Haneul was born as a normal baby; she cried, pooped, and slept a lot. Hankyu was a little jealous at first because Haneul was getting all the attention of their parents, but as time passed by she grew to like her more and more. They were always close as kids and they liked to play together with the neighborhood children. Haneul was a very tomboy-ish girl. She liked playing with the boys and getting dirty, often playing wrestling or soccer. They had to part with their friends when Haneul was 7 years old and moved to the US. Her father had gotten a great job there that paid way more than his old job. Even though they left Korea, Haneul's parents always practised and reinforced the whole family to speak Korean and remember their traditional values; like mannerism. Speaking english was inevitable while living in the US. At first, Haneul had a hard time adjusting because of the language barrier. Her mother sought the help of Haneul's aunt, who has been living in the US for a long time and is fluent in English, to teach her kids the language. After some time, Haneul was getting the hang of this new language and even became fluent at it. Haneul also did some self teaching by listening to music and lyrics of the english songs that she listens to. In the US, Haneul was exposed to the world of art; from music, dance, fashion, and other forms or art. She was amazed at what creativity, skills, and talent could produce; like songs, choreography, painting, etc. She fell in love instantly. Haneul particularly took an interest in music, dance, and fashion. Haneul began taking dance lessons, picking her own outfits, and copying some of the artists she saw on TV. She discovered within  her a talent and love for rapping.

When Haneul was 14, she and her whole family moved back to South Korea, yet again for her father's job. Haneul was a little disappointed at first because she would again part with her friends. She brought her new found love and talent to South Korea and continued to improve them. She took lessons, participated  in competitions, and started to familiarize herself with the underground music industry. Her brother was quite concerned for her, especially for her safety in the underground scene. So, he asked his friend to watch over Haneul and keep her safe. His friend actually became Haneul's guide into the underground community; helping her meet other people and be more immersed in that world. She actually became pretty famous for her rapping skills.

Haneul comes from a family whose occupation doesn't fall from the corporate offices. That world was of no interest to her. All of them with their suits, their numbers, and their bussiness handshakes that felt cold. Her parents both worked in that world and her older brother might well be on his way. That's why when Haneul announced that she wanted to pursue a career in music, her parents thought that she had gone mad. Haneul and her parents fought a lot at first, but then they started to realize that Haneul was very passionate about it and there was no stopping her, so they gave her their blessings and supported her.

family » Haneul was born in an upper-midle class family; she was quite well off, but not so much that she owns mansions. Her father, Song Jinyoo (50), is a successful business owner and very loving towards his family. Her mother, Song Hyeri (50), is a financial consultant and still manages to take care of her family very well. Haneul has an older brother, Song Hankyu (23), who is currently studying economics at university and aspires to one day take over the family business. They are your typical family with hugs and fights. Her parents don't actually agree with Haneul picking this uncertain path for her career, but they know that nothing can stop Haneul's fiery passion for performing.

friends/rivals » Haenul has quite a few friends, some of them from the underground scene, some are from her normal life, but there's one friend that she is very close with and her only famous celebrity friend at the moment. It's f(x)'s Krystal. They met when Haneul was still living in the US and were neighbors for quite some time. Both of them became close quite quickly because of the same age that they shared and they just seemed to click together.

WHo you are.

HOW YOU JOINED YG+ TRAINEE LIFE: Haneul has auditioned for countless of companies; from the big ones, like SM, JYP, Cube, to the small ones that are just starting out. She was always either rejected or they tried to change her into something she's not. Most of the rejections happened because of her face, because it lacked the beauty standards of girl groups, or she was just "not the type of talent"  they were looking for. She wouldn't mind if they only tried to change a few things about her. She would do almost anything to be able to perform on stages so big and packed with fans that she could feel the euphoria of performing rushing through her veins. Many of the companies tried to shape her into their mold until she was no longer recognizable and her true color faded away. Haneul did not want that; she would rather find another company that would actually help her talents and skill to shine even more on those big stages.

After 2 years of auditioning, Haneul almost lost hope. She then tried to audition at YG. The other auditioners were all very talented, self-doubt almost made Haneul turn on her heels and run away. She tried to ignore her surroundings and focused on giving her best performance. Haneul gathered up all her courage and auditioned like her life depended on it. In the end it paid off and Haneul was accepted into the company.

Haneul's  trainee life in YG was pretty mild. She had adapted to her new surroundings rather quickly and without any major problems. A little complication here and there, but nothing she couldn't handle. Her eyes were fixed on the ultimate goal of debuting and becoming a renowned artist. She made a few friends here and there, tried to get close to some of her seniors, but ultimately in a competition it's every girl for herself.
