appearance From far away, Danji appears quite tall with those long, slim dancer legs of hers, but this girl actually stands at 160cm and weights 44kg. As a dancer and an avid exerciser, she is very proud to say that she has a rounded, easy to spot and a set of strong abdominal muscles. She doesn't have a large bust but she doesn't mind since she claims it's better for her to squeeze into sports bras and leotards. Although Danji is on the thin side she gains weight easily, so she has to keep careful watch of the amount of food she consumes in order to keep her tiny size 2 frame. Since she grew up along the coast of California Danji has slightly darker creamy skin, but fair enough for Korean standards. Her round face is often described as sweet looking and her full, plump lips easily form into a pout, though she can be seen with a smile. Perhaps the most noticeable feature of hers is her almond shaped eyes, single lidded, surrounded by dark lashes, and totally capable to burning a hole through your heard. Danji is quite proud of her arched eyebrows, though she sadly admits that once in a while she gets them done. She has dark brown hair that falls to the middle of the back and always seems to be in loose curls or natural waves. During dance practices and at the dorms however, she twists it into a bun, ponytail, or braids.
 

style Danji has a very polished, somewhat Vintage style with a hint of girliness in it. Her clothes mainly consist of flowy skirts, Floral dresses, lacy blouses, and tights, with her shoes being oxfords, high wedge boots, and flats. Danji isn't one to wear bright, flashy colors and prefers the more darker, solid colors. It's not like she's trying to be the most fashionable, although she does like being dressed to impress. However, this doesn't mean she dislikes dressing sloppily. As a dancer, Danji is also always spotted wearing a loose cropped top over a colored sports bra (if she does wear bright colors, it's her sports bras) and fitted leggings. In the dorms, she tends to relax in a pair of yoga pants, as she hates being confined in jeans.

But woah hold on, Danji isn't all that negative. Although Danji seems like a complete b-word, those who managed to break her hard exterior can declare that she isn't one. Once people become accustomed to her sharp remarks and blunt words, they find her genuinely funny and interesting to be around. She has proven to be a dedicated soul, both in her work and to her friends. She's the kind of person who would not sleep a wink when it comes to perfecting their art, which would be dance in her case. She takes perfection seriously and will do whatever it takes to stay on top of her game. Danji has difficulty expressing her feelings and is not the best at expressing her sincerity and appreciation, so it always looks like she only cares about herself. She's always there to lend a shoulder if her friends need it and would gladly catch a grenade if it means protecting the people she loves. In fact, Danji's well known for organizing her friends' closets (it's her personal way of saying thanks) or sticking little post-its on their doors saying she's proud of their hard work.
 

Cats are love, cats are life ; Danji is a huge animal lover, but cats are her favorite. Her phone wallpaper is a picture of a cat rolling in grass, her notebooks are decorated with cat stickers, and she even has tiny cat earrings. The hollaback boys always joke around and say Danji is going to be a crazy cat lady when she's older
they're my babykins ; that being said, she has two Ragdoll kittens named Pema and Jinny, who live with her parents. Her parents send her pictures of them at least every day and she shows them off proudly to the Hollaback members
pointe shoes! who knew right? ; Danji once slapped Baekhyun in the face with her pointe shoe when she once came into the club dressed only in a purple sports bra and bright blue tutu and he made a snide comment about it

It all began on an autumn evening at the San Francisco Ballet company, where the young acclaimed choreographer Jo Saeryun (or Jo Noah, as he preferred to be called), was a guest teacher for the ballet class. This was the class the American born Isabelle Kim happened to attend. She immediately caught Saeryun's attention and interest, as she was one of the main principal dancers and Korean, but they didn't begin dating until a few months later. Since both were in their early twenties and at the peak of their careers, they decided to settle down later in their late twenties. During that period, Isabelle raised to fame and became one of the top dancers in the world. Thus, Danji and her older sister would be born into a wealthy upper middle class family.

"Introducing her highness." Danbi and Danji have similar personalities in terms of their self confidence. Danbi takes criticism quite easily, and treats it as a way to improve rather than an image crushing method. This girl even has self motivation post it notes stuck all over the walls of her dorm room. Unlike her little sister, Danbi has better control over her temper and rarely lets her emotions reveal themselves in public. An optimist who views the glass half full, Danbi is generally liked by the Uisan students as they are usually quickly taken by her 'super star' aura and charismatic attitude. Another well known quality of Danbi is her motherly tendencies, always fussing over her little sister and friends about their health, and taking new drama club members under her wing. 

"Don't mess with my hair." As much as Danbi loves Danji, she slightly resents her for always stealing the attention of their parents. Danji, on the other hand, is jealous of how people are always so easily taken by her. However, they rarely let that show and continuing supporting each other. While Danji almost never has time to attend the drama shows because of practices, Danbi does her best to watch the dance performances, often with a large bouquet of flowers. They sometimes meet for lunch and help each other with homework. Every time Danbi sees her little sister she runs up and ruffles her hair or pinches her cheeks, which irritates Danji. Danbi is currently trying to convince Danji to ditch Dance society and join drama club, but fails each time.

"Squirrels?? Where??" At the first glance, Myungeun has an aura of elegance and grace. However, behind that mature face and refined posture, Myungeun is what people would call a "dumb blonde," giggling helplessly and has the attention span of an excited puppy. Myungeun has a heart of gold, always treating people with kindess and never expects to have the same treatment returned. She easily adapts to a new environment and can comfortably befriend everyone in the room. However, Myungeun can quickly change to an awkward girl when placed in situations she cannot combat, such as talking to her crush. A member of the choir club, Myungeun has an absolutely beautiful voice but does not like showing off, unlike Danji.

"Omg he looked at me! Danji Danji!" Many would ask why the social butterfly Myungeun would be best friends with someone as cruel as Danji. The girls have been best friends since Danji's first day in Korean school and Myungeun has simply seen the better side of Danji and knows she's a sweetheart inside. Myungeun is the one who keeps Danji's ego and sharp tongue in check, and sometimes even out of trouble. During school, you might see Danji striding in the hallways confidently with Myungeun running after her fast steps. If Danji needs water, new cat pictures to squeal at, or even an occasional shoulder to cry on, Myungeun's her girl. While Danji may act like she doesn't care about Myungeun, she truly loves her best friend and treasures her company. In fact, if anyone dares make Myungeun cry, Danji won't hesitate to slap them right in her face with her pointe shoes. as her best friend, Danji often tries to force help Myungeun talk to Tao, since she's had a crush on the guy from the beginning of the school year.

"The tooth fairy is real, I swear!" Ahri is a little spitfire - wild and random, she's the girl who would say what she wants to say without a care in the world. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Danji likes her so much. Ahri doesn't like taking orders from people unless they're friends with her or have the authorty to, like the photography club president and teachers. One thing Ahri severely lacks is the ability to comfort and emphasize with people. When placed in a situation where her friend is in tears, she can do offer nothing except a hug and a terribly cheesy joke. She admits she is a hopeless romantic, shamelessly believing in fairy tales, love at first sight, and the red soulmate thread. she will fight tooth and nail for what she believes in.

"I'll be your rock." Danji could safely assume that Ahri is her other best friend. If Myungeun isn't around, she can certainly rely on Ahri. She is quick to defend Danji and usually sweet-talks the teachers into shortening their detention time, which is one of the infinite reason why Danji loves having Ahri around. She s always willing to take photos of Danji, no matter how busy she is, and claims to be her "number one photographer." However, because of both their fiery tempers and sassiness, they often disagree on things and find themselves having a screaming fight. Lucky for them, they usually reconcile within a day or even three hours. Since Myungeun isn't one to badmouth people, Ahri is the one who gossips with Danji and provides her with all the juicy news.

"Wanna touch my abs?" With a cheeky smile and perfectly scuplted abs, Jimin is the ultimate cutie. He enjoys telling corny jokes to lighten up people's spirits, but no one really gets his jokes so they just laught awkwardly to make him feel better. No matter how many obstacles he faces, Jimin has a strong will to never give up and pushes himself to work to the very limit. Although there are times where he's so chatty, he can be introverted and shy, especially around new people. Jimin is a little on the naive side, he honestly does not get half the things people say and it's just so easy to becase of that. Danji actually once described him as "a male version of Myungeun, only more vain and talkative."

"I'll always be here to catch you, princess." Jimin is absolutely shamelessly with his interactions with Danji: he slings his arm around her, uses pick up lines on her, and even occasionally a sly kiss on her cheek. Good thing Danji's known him for a long time or else he would've had a pointe shoe buried in his crotch long ago. The two have been dance partners since Danji's beginning days in dance society. He's one of the few people who actually enjoy her bossy personality and even playfully encourages it by replying, "Yes, m'am!" or "sure thing, boss." HE likes to be an older brother to her and declares to support her no matter what her decisions are. (Jimin: just make sure it's not drugs or teenage pregnancy)

Danji's quite happy that she has Myungeun as her dorm mate, since she's so easy going and fine with anything. they try to be strict and sleep at eleven, but when the lights are off and both are snuggled deeply in their blankets, myungeun would begin asking danji about her day and move on to another random subject (the subjects most discussed are songs the choir club is singing and Tao). danji, who is rarely patient but is with myungeun, calmly answers her but she's normally the first one to fall asleep. Danji's also the first one to rise in the morning at six thirty, because she likes to do early stretching. After her twenty minute warmup she violently shakes Myungeun awake, since the girl is a heavy sleeper and once told Danji to shake her as hard as possible. When both girls have finished washing up and have all their backpacks ready, they leave for school together

 

school lifestyle in school, Danji is not in the popular crowd, but she is well known by all the students as 'Anna,' the girl who plans to become the world's famous dancer. She's also known as one of the meanest girls with the meanest opinions, which is why most students avoid angering her or crossing paths with her. At the same time, she has her own adoring fanclub, admiring her dance skills and intimidating aura. Danji is a typical straight A student, with a couple of B pluses, but that doesn't bother her, since the B pluses are for math and science and she knows they have noting to do with her in the future so she doesn't bother improving in those subjects. Her best subjects are English and history, which she takes pride in, and is a surprisingly skilled writer so she always excels in her essays. She only receives good grades because of her tests and homework, not from actually paying attention in class (she relies on her own studying, books, and friends to help her out). Whenever there is a class debate or discussion going on, Danji is one of the more vocal students, although half the time she is being sarcastic and not focusing on the given topic. While teachers appreciate her participation, they really do wished she concentrated more in class. During lunch, Danji eats with some members of the Dance society, mostly with Jimin and his gang or Ahri, but she occasionally visits Myungeun in the choir room, since the latter likes to spend her lunchtime there.

life in extracurricular activity A dancer since childhood, Danji didn't hesitate when she signed up for the dance society. It's not like the classes she took when she was in California, but to her, dance is dance and she can't live a day without stepping on the dance floor. Dance society is usually held the first four days of the week after school, with occasional Saturday morning practices. They are active in competitions hosted in other schools or in the local area/city. It goes on for two and a half hours starting from four, but when competition season begins they extend it to four hours. The dance society consists of 35 members, along with the two dance coaches, Kwon Boa and Lee Hyukjae, who mostly choreograph pieces for the students, though members can create their own works to present for the year end performance. Dance society welcomes every kind of dance style, though the most they focus on are hip hop and jazz. Danji is the one who always lead warmups, as one of the youngest but more experienced dance members. Warmup normally lasts for thirty minutes before they move onto technique exercises. For the Last hour, they work on the coaches' dances or their own choreographed group dances. Danji usually stays behind after dance society to practice her ballet and other dance styles the club don't focus on, but she doesn't stay back longer than two hours. Sometimes she even brings her homework along to the studio. School is important, but not as important as dance, according to her. Danji really hopes to become the dance society presiden in her second year.

first position ; the first time Danji had heard about Huang Zitao was about two weeks after Uisan began school, when Myungeun came running to Danji with a blushing face and dizzy smile. Myungeun had been in the choir room practicing by herself when a handsome boy entered looking for Baekhyun. after she had directed him to the room where Baekhyun, he complimented her singing before leaving. This was where she fell in love with him. Danji thought she was being ridiculous, but as a best friend she promised Myungeun to keep an out for him, especially since he was friends with members of the dance society. She'd seen Tao around and thought he was an okay looking guy. A few weeks after, Danji was on her way to the dance studio when Tao came running down the stairs (he'd eaten some food Kyungsoo made days ago so it tasted terrible). He crashed into Danji, who stopped him from rushing to the boys' bathroom and demanded an apology. Tao, who tried to tell her he had to leave, suddenly lurched forward and reached for whatever he could. Danji was holding her pointe shoes in her hands, so he grabbed it in an act of urgency and hurled in it, while getting a bit on Danji. All Danji could do was stare in shock, before screaming angrily at Tao to fetch her some tissues. She demanded that he'd immediately pay her back, but pointe shoes are expensive, and Tao was a student who didn't have a working job. He begged her to give him more time, and when she looked skeptical he invited her to join a club, where she could nag and remind him about the money every day. Danji agreed, but little did she know that she had agreed to join the craziest club at Uisan.

second position ; so here's Danji, miserable and sulking at the club. The members don't have much to say about her, since they've heard all sort of rumors about her (Jongdae: I heard a freshman girl stepped on her bag and she dropped out of Uisan the next day) (Chanyeol: I heard she was in a gang when she lived in Los Angeles) (Baekhyung: *snorts* yeah, a dance gang) (Sehun: she made a guy in dance society drink water from his sneaker when he made her angry) but they're nice to her, while Tao tries to make her comfortable. He is absolutely intrigued by Danji and always attempts to strike up a conversation with her, but she looks at him like he's dirt and immediately moves to sit with Sehun or Yixing whenever Tao sits next to her. However, Tao doesn't give up. He soon begins waving happily or smiling cheesily whenever he passes by Danji in the hallway, only to be greeted with a roll of her eyes or a snort. But when she sees how eager Tao is to please her, she takes advantage of him, asking him to run errands for her or fan her with a paper fan when she's feeling warm in the club room.

third position ; Danji wants nothing more from Tao then payment for her pointe shoes, but since she promised Myungeun that she make friends with Tao, she slowly starts to tolerate him. Seeing that she's accepting him, Tao invites himself to sit with Danji at lunch (which you can imagine, causes quite a ruckus among the students). She even amuses herself in telling him false information, since he's naive and believes in almost anything she says (Danji: Yes Tao, the tooth fairy turns your teeth into little pebbles if you haven't been brushing properly). As much as she hates to admit it, Danji finds herself enjoying Tao's company, even if he can be such a baby about things. And when Danji discovers that Tao also likes cats, her respect for him rises (which had been very low until now) and shows more interest in him.

fourth position ; Danji begins experiencing strange flutters in her heart whenever she's near Tao. since she's getting friendlier with Tao, she also gets protective of him. Talking badly about Tao in front of Danji leads to an argument full of sassy insults that will often end with Danji's victory. There are times when Danji gets nervous around Tao and ends up making a huge fool of herself, such as stuttering over her words and bumping into objects as well as people. But here's the thing: Danji is never nervous, and she stubbornly insists she has no romantic interest in Tao to anyone who asks. Since Tao and Danji are much closer than before, he starts confiding everything to her, and she can trust telling a couple of secrets to him. Tao even asks Danji to give him dancing lessons, not because he really wants to but because he wants to spend more time with her.

fifth position ; Tao evetually confesses to Danji, as he's attracted to her overall personality. However, while Danji harbors some feelings for him, she begins pulling away from him because of her devotion to Myungeun. She never tells Tao about Myungeun's crush on him, so she leaves him confused about her sudden distance. Danji even admits to Tao that if they ever become a couple, she would never make their relationship public because she feel it would ruin her reputation at Uisan (just to be cruel).

suggestions, questions, comments  So Danji is based off the beautiful Abigail Armstrong, a character in the show Dance academy (really good, recommend it to you). I made a new character personality just for this fic so she's on the rough side and not very polished or fully developed. I'm slightly worried she may be a little too negative for thc, but I imagine her to be bullying the club members in the most crack way, with them teasing her back. and as you can tell, I'm not very good at making crack applications. I may have some mistakes because I was rushing to finish this, so please tell me if I do have mistakes.

If Danji doesn't make it as a main, and if Tao doesn't have a love interest, could she be Tao's super mean girlfriend? I feel she would be the protective one and wears the pants in the relationship haha
