comments. not much to say here, but i hope lun is to your liking. he's one of my newer characters, so i don't expect him to be completely perfect right now; feel free to ask me to change things with him.
SCENE SUGGESTIONS
1. any scene in which lun forces his love interest out of his comfort zone will warm my heart. depending on what that comfort zone is... if his love interest isn't a dancer, lun will force him to dance something y. if his love interest isn't chinese/has never been to china/something similar, lun will force him to try some really obscure chinese food at a restaurant where the servers don't speak korean. In these situations, lun will have the control and his dominance in the relationship will really show through.

my dear boy!

CHARACTER NAME. So Lun
NICKNAMES.
   — Lunny & Loony / the former is an affectionate nickname, mostly used by his female friends, the latter is a teasing nickname used by his male friends because, well, it reflects his absent-minded completely crazy nature.
   — Child / mainly used by the older members and teasing variety show hosts, since his idle expression is one with doe eyes and pouty lips: therefore, he looks like a little boy. Variations of this nickname include baby and toddler.
   — Bumbling Idiot / there are a number of reasons this nickname came to be: his over-use of Korean honorifics and formal speech, the few seconds he takes in between replies when someone talks to him in Korean, the lost look on his face at all times, and the run-round he gives people when he tries to explain what he's thinking. It was either this or "awkward prince" for his persona, so some variety shows still use this on him.
   — Shorty / used by the people who really like to try and get on his nerves, probably the other members. It doesn't bother him as much as other people would like to see, but he still frowns and whines for them to stop.

OTHER NAMES
   — Seyoon / the Korean name that was given to him by his first-ever Korean teacher at MISS, though no one ever uses it -- not even her, anymore. It's more or less just a formality that no one knows about.

  — Larry / the English name that his father insisted he be given at birth, since the man was an international entrepreneur who thought it'd be best if he could refer to his son by a name in English ("Is Lun really that hard for Westerners, dad?"). Lun pretends that it doesn't exist.

BIRTHDATE. 03/11/1996
AGE. 18
BIRTHPLACE. Guangzhou, China
HOMETOWN. Guangzhou, China
NATIONALITY. Chinese
HEIGHT & WEIGHT. 176 cm & 62 kg
LANGUAGES.
   — Cantonese / native / he was raised in Guangzhou to Chinese parents: Cantonese is the language of his ancestors and he's not giving that up any times soon. This is also what he uses with his friends back in Guangzhou, of course.
   — English / fluent / from the moment he could utter his first word in Cantonese, his father signed him up for English classes in school so he could "be a good future business owner" or something. Unfortunately for Lun, he is a natural in languages and the classes only got harder until he graduated high school.
  — Korean / conversational / being that he's a hopeful k-pop idol, the ability to speak Korean is more or less a necessity. And so, he was immediately enrolled in MISS' Korean language classes upon joining the company. Like he was in English, he's a natural for the language, but it's only been two years so far. Give him time, and he'll be as fluent as the native members, just a lot more polite -- the way he obsesses over politeness levels leaves others either feeling awkward or giggling in pity, especially the older members.

APPEARANCE. Lun is, by no means, tall -- even if you turn the lights off and kneel on the floor, the guy is still short. He says that it helps with precision in his dances, but even he knows that he's only kidding himself. He's used to the short jokes and he's ruled out the possibility of ever being a model, so it's not like it bothers him anymore... Much. He takes great pride in his pale skin and smooth face thanks to a religious skincare routine and the best bb cream money can buy. He's not against makeup. At all. In fact, he embraces it in order to "enhance the face's natural beauty". His lips come to a childish pout and his eyes are wide and in a sparkling shade of brown, so it's no surprise that he gets compared to a child. There has to be at least five child ulzzangs that look just like him, and probably countless more who are unpopular. His father was always asked if he was Eurasian or adopted when he was small (he still is, Lun just doesn't hear about it anymore), and Lun always took that as a compliment to his complexion. His hair is always long, to his mother's and certain stylists' dismay, but he loves having shiny black hair falling into his eyes -- the days he's asked to dye it will be the day that he throws a temper tantrum in the styling chair. He does wish that he didn't look so much like an infant, at times, because he swears on his life that he's manly. Really!

STYLE. For someone who comes off as childish and sweet as Lun does, he certainly doesn't dress to show it: he likes dark colors and light, loose fabrics that he can move in. It's a habit bred from his dancing: anything that clings to him, even when he isn't dancing, makes him extremely uncomfortable. It's been a battle between him and the stylists to cram him into skinny jeans, and he's finally starting to get used to not feeling his legs. He likes the punk rock style best, often citing "L.A. street fashion" as his personal favorite. No one really knows what on earth that is, except for one particular MISS stylist. In reality, she's the only one who he lets touch him, picky as he is. He likes leather, he likes converse's brand of shoes, and he likes layering thin shirts and jackets. Layers warm his heart as much as they warm his body: he can put them on and pull them off whenever he has to and all is well. Hats are questionable for him, since he says that he doesn't like them, but he'd be lying if he said he hasn't worn a beanie or two completely willingly. It should also be noted that he has nothing against always carrying around what others call a "man purse" -- also known as his dance-plus-everything-else-he-thinks-he-needs bag.

BEYOND the SKY!

PERSONALITY TRAITS. compassionate, book-smart, gentle, romantic, oblivious, tactless, spoiled, overly-affectionate
PERSONALITY.
   — Lun comes from a rather well-to-do family, being that his father owns a chain of restaurants around China and is soon planning to expand into Japan and Korea. This leaves Lun as the type of boy who always gets what he wants, easily spoiled by his father's money and rarely having to do any real work for himself. Hard work doesn't really click for him, no is not a word in his vocabulary, and this is based in his being shielded from the dirtier parts of the world: his parents kept him away from lower classes and poverty in order to preserve his innocence, but that left him with a largely incomplete understanding of the world. People who actually have to work for every centimeter of fabric on their backs confuse him, money confuses him, and overall economy confuses him -- if there are people suffering, why doesn't someone just pay him more? His lack of understanding in the real world has left him obliviously book smart: he can read and understand anything in a textbook, but he is a tactless individual who is frightened by any and all social interactions. Lately, though, he's been exposed to different types of people through his training in Korea. And such new things are absolutely terrifying. He is not repulsed by things below him, but repulsed by the way that they're forced to live. And so, he only flounders with the wish that he could help. He'll talk to anyone, though, even those he's never met: he has no second thoughts when introducing himself to other people, and he believes that talking is the only way to understand what anyone else is thinking. And so, he never shuts up. Especially when he's complaining.

   — As he'd always been a charitable sort of person, Lun is willing to give the shirt off his back to help anyone he sees, since he views people less fortunate than him as people who need saving; what was once dropping everything for a favor for someone he's barely friends with has slowly become taking the time to buy a meal for the hungry young boy he's never met. His constant asking of "Can I help?" annoys most people, but he's too naive to see that. Due to his immense book-intelligence, he has a deep understanding of philosophy -- call it a hobby of his, but Lun spends quite a bit of his time just thinking, which often leaves other people wondering what's wrong with the guy staring off into space, but he swears that there are some deep thoughts in his mind. He has a few moments where he can translate his thoughts into profound words, often striking whoever is speaking to him completely off-guard with something so deep, so emotional, that the other person is left completely dumbfounded. Because he thinks so much, anything he says makes total sense to him, but often appears out of nowhere for everyone else around him. In order to understand Lun, one has to tolerate confusion and misunderstandings until he or she learns how to interpret his thoughts. He's not difficult to read when his little cues are found out, from the certain twitch of his brow to a different curve of his lips. When someone doesn't bother to understand him, though, he comes off a little crazy: he doesn't think like other people do, often more accepting and even apathetic of the things that offend other people. In short, he understands how things happen, but has trouble seeing why people feel the way they do. Emotions are a loss to him, but at least he still tries to help whenever he can.

   — So, the gentle and tactless Lun has a certain way of getting himself involved in situations where he isn't wanted, or in those which are far more of a problem than he can handle on his own. His goal in life is to make the people he loves happy, since he is the extroverted sort of person who requires the company of happy people in order to be happy himself. When he's placed into a situation bigger than what he imagined, he still tries to help, though often without any sort of direction. He's the type of person to think that anything can be solved with a hug, and is only now -- belatedly, at the age of 18 -- realizing that this isn't usually the case. He often feels helpless when this happens, but his bright nature does more good than he notices. His smiling, bouncing energy is what other people are drawn to him by, so he's often the one who people come to with their problems. His book smarts leads him to be able to give situational advice ("I read this in a book once, maybe you could..."), but he lacks the experience to give real advice of his own. Instead, he does what he can with his childish way of doing things. Being raised as a spoiled boy left him naive and lazy in that he refuses to do something unless it interests him -- and the things that interest him are the things that interest the people he loves. He's a romantic at heart, really: always looking for a hand to hold or a shoulder to lean on; one who loves to give and receive kisses and hugs. He's affectionate, perhaps overly so, but this boy loves everyone he meets with his entire being, and it's doubtful that he has an ounce of hate for anything in his heart. Everything in Lun's life is bright and wonderful in his eyes: pessimism is completely foreign to him.

   — That said, Lun's desire to help other people may run a bit deeper: with his father absent due to business and his mother always at home with him, he harbors a deep love and respect for everything about women. The feminine form, the feminine personality, anything female is dear to him and must be protected. His baby face might contribute to this just as much, though he won't admit it, but he wants to be seen as more than just the spoiled child he was raised to be. Rather than be handed everything that he father had prepared for him, Lun is much more interested in creating his own path in something that would make other people happy: being a dancer and seeing people excited, happy, or any emotion at all because of him is the most fulfilling thing he's ever experienced. Performing is something like a drug to him, as he's too far addicted to ever turn away from the life he's made in making other people happy with his own passions. After 18 years of being the obedient little son his parents dreamed of, never opening his mouth because of the way he messes up everything he says, he's finally So Lun, his own person. Though, his nature isn't totally gone: the boy still listens extremely well, doing whatever he's asked, whenever he's asked, without question. He never asks for anything in return from anyone, of course, since doing something to make someone else's life easier is thanks enough for him. He's respectful, then, and desires verbal praise from those around him in order to be at peace. It's not rare to see him helping elderly people whom he's never met carry bags, much to the dismay of anyone who's looking out for his safety. Call him reckless, but that's just his obliviously too-trusting nature guiding his actions.

LIKES.
   — books
   — new languages
   — new places, especially cities
   — American punk music and fashion

   — r&b music from any country
   — makeup
   — hugs, kisses, holding hands, overall skinship
   — collecting things: snow globes, postcards, stamps, hyungs...
   — his hyungs -- not that the dongsaengs don't get affection, it's just that he's way more adorable around the hyungs

   — taking selcas
DISLIKES
   — dying his hair
   — height jokes
   — tall people
   — making other people upset
   — carrots
   — cucumber
   — citrus fruits (lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit - especially grapefruit)
   — milk

TRIVA.
   — he's extremely faithful to his favorite bb cream brand, Laneige Homme
  — he actually does follow a strict skincare routine, taking at least a half hour every night for it. He says that it's relaxing to do before bed, but no one seems to believe him
   — his collection of different mask sheets for all different skin conditions is wider than the Grand Canyon
   — his favorite color is powder blue ("not periwinkle! why aren't you listening to me?")
   — if dying his hair is suggested, he will literally yelp and cover his head every time. The others might want to use this to
   — that said, it's extremely easy to , and he's a pretty good sport about it
   — he doesn't know if Kahi knows this or not (and whoever tells her will be on his list), but she's his ultimate bias
   — he often threatens to put people on his list, though he obviously doesn't have a list. If he did, it would be a list of people to get back at later, not that he's one for revenge
   — if he ever had to actually carry out revenge on someone, he wouldn't know how to do it; he doesn't like causing other people pain or hurting their feelings, so he'd probably just stand there and whine
   — it's going to take him less than a week to give a kiss on the cheek to every member of the group. Lips will take a little longer, but it's going to happen eventually
   — it wouldn't be unlikely for him to latch onto one of the older members, following him around, asking what he's doing, and begging to be allowed to help him
   — spoiled as he is, he tends to whine when he doesn't get what he wants -- if he's being picked on, if he can't choose what's for dinner when he really wanted Chinese food (which is all the time), if one of the other members pushes him away when he goes for a hug, this boy is whining and making his discontent known
   — there is one stylist and one stylist only that he allows to touch him, since he's so picky and she's so gentle. It gets on everyone's nerves when she has to drop what she's doing to make sure he looks like a civilized human being, but everything runs much more smoothly when Lun isn't complaining
   — he has a habit of doing his own makeup if Jinah's taking too long to get to him, so it's in everyone's best interests to get Lun done first or second
   — he may also have a habit of sleep-cuddling, which is why no one likes to sleep with him. He swears that he does it for the sake of the other person, something about keeping them warm and safe, but it's really just because he really is a baby, somewhere deep down
   — bribe him with dumplings and he's your best friend forever
   — he has no idea how to cook and should never be let near a kitchen, which is ironic, due to his father's business
   — it isn't hard to make him cry, just stick him in front of a sad movie and come back in two hours
   — he has this white teddy bear that his mom gave him, and the thing is really not much bigger than his hand, but he likes to have it around as a good luck charm. It's kind of old and not really white anymore, but it keeps him calm and quiet
   — he also uses the bear mentioned above to cheer up the other members if they're down, as "teddy kisses" can fix everything, according to him
   — but, if teddy kisses don't work, Lun cuddles are bound to do the trick
   — he's a little obsessed with Christmas. The spirit of giving is what he says he likes about it, but throw in cookies and Christmas songs and he'll be the happiest he's ever been. He may or may not burst into Christmas songs in May
  — when he's thinking, he bites his lip and looks like he's about to cry. It's really his idle face, but it often betrays him
   — his instagram, @apolunny, has a ridiculous amount of selcas

BACKGROUND
   — Lun was born as the silver-spoon baby to a chain restaurant owner and his wife. That said, he was the pride and joy of his father's social circle, being the youngest of all of the children and, more often than not, given anything he asked for. The upper-middle class is rewarding, he learned very quickly, for a little boy. He was raised by his mother, who never had to work thanks to his father's multiple business ventures, so a majroity of his personality comes from her -- in fact, it was often joked that he was, in fact, a little girl with short hair.  His mother, quickly seeing how her son wanted to be around people and talk to everyone, put him in a dance class at the age of eight. Being the only boy in the class, many mothers joked that he could get any girl he wanted -- the fact of it was, however, that he honestly enjoyed dancing, and had no interest in the little girls. Looking back now, he realizes that this was the first time he experienced his own uality, identifying -- without knowing the term -- as gay. His love of dance and desire to do it all the time only fueled his need to perform, especially after seeing the way that other people react to dancers. He found himself admiring performers of any kind, and wanting to have someone, anyone, react that way because of him.

   — Then, Lun hit puberty. His father, despite being in a different city every weekend, still had a controlling hand in how he was raised. Lun went to a private school where English was a required course, and he excelled: dance was something that he loved doing and worked hard to be good at, but languages were something that he had a natural ability for. This ability was something that was brought to his father's attention, causing the man to believe that his son was a perfect fit to inherit his own business. Lun's desire to dance was ignored by the man who wasn't there, so the time he had for it was torn away and replaced by advanced English classes and business classes. His mother, who was largely helpless, made sure that he could still have time for at least one dance class: a hip-hop class which Lun gave up a business internship for, not that he minded. By the time he was 15, he was already taking part in regional dance competitions, and winning many of them. Lun's path in life was clear to everyone who knew him well, his father not being one of those people: the boy was meant to be a dancer, and that was the end of it. When he was 18, he auditioned for and was accepted into a national, televised competition. His father (begrudgingly) and mother (elatedly) accompanied their son to Beijing, where his father hoped he would fail and retreat into the business world to follow him, and his mother hoped he would win, or at least come close, so that Lun would have a future of his own. Lun, on the other hand, wanted to befriend everyone and simply experience, as he didn't have a care for winning or losing, as long as he danced as best he could.

   — When it came time for the results to be announced, Lun suddenly found himself as the second-best teenage dancer in the country, and entertainment companies, agents, and talent scouts from all over Asia contacted him. The situation became very overwhelming very quickly, as Lun was too used to being his father's son. After that competition, though, he was So Lun, a dancer who Asian companies desired for their rosters. His father's opinion frightened him, as much as he wanted to accept being an entertainer as the dream which he never knew he had before, and he carefully prepared himself for the day that his father would forbid him from leaving the country to become an idol. To his utter shock, on a night that would have otherwise been completely normal, his father told him that he could become an idol on the following conditions: he is to train as hard as possible to be better than all of the others, he is to never embarrass the family in any way, and he is to debut within two years. Lun barely heard the restraints placed upon him before he was already bounding off to accept the offer to audition for Pledis Entertainment in South Korea. With his mother at his side and his father watching from somewhere in China, Lun passed the audition, but not for Pledis; he was immediately transferred to Kahi's new company in the hopes that he would become a member of her boygroup-in-planning. Training, for the first six months, almost led Lun to quit: he hated that he rarely slept more than five hours, he hated how difficult everything was, and he had a hard time getting used to certain aspects of Korean culture. All of that, combined with his father's message, carried him close to his breaking point. It was then that he decided to disregard everything and simply do his best, just like he had in dancing before -- he began to relax, he made valuable friends, and he found himself in the line-up to debut under MISS Records.

don't forget me!

LOVE INTEREST. Applicant -- Lun is dominant. Seriously, think of him in a way similar to Luhan.
BACKUPS. Kim Jinhwan (iKon)
PERSONALITY TRAITS. Lun could honestly use someone pessimistic, perhaps even cynical. This negativity isn't without reason, though, since his love interest comes from a different walk of life than Lun did: he had to work for everything, and the drive that he has is what initially draws Lun to him. He could be a grumpy or bitter person, someone who might push Lun away at first (or call him weird, or avoid him completely, or...), but our spoiled little Lun won't take no for an answer. His love interest is huffy, perhaps even as bratty as Lun himself, and possibly even subject to random mood swings. Lun says he's cute.
INTERACTIONS.
   — Lun, being the romantic little brat he is, would be the type to completely spoil his love interest. It's rather humorous to see Lun be so protective and caring towards someone who is, more than likely, taller than him. They're a confusing couple, really, because it seems like his love interest honestly hates him for quite a while before he'll reluctantly open up to Lun. It begins as some kind of twisted friendship with Lun taking extra care to look out for Apollo's resident "grumpypuss": he'll throw an arm around him and drag him to practice or to their next schedule, fix his hair for him, whine that he needs to eat better, anything that clearly shows how he cares for him. In all honesty, Lun's over-affection will put the other off and make him want to be around him less, so he might come to avoid him... Only to realize that, annoying as it is, Lun's presence is pretty important to him. They might not be romantic at all for a large part of the story, but there will be moments of what could be called bromance, where there's just a little extra affection between these two than any other members.

TRIVA.
   — the fact that Lun is so short compared to his love interest contributes to the absurdity of it all, especially when other people see this small, baby-faced guy looking out for this murderous-looking guy. This isn't a necessity, but it might be interesting if Lun's love interest was actually older than him, as well.
   — Lun is going to form a habit of forcing his love interest into frequent surprise selcas: he'll pop up out of nowhere, grab his love interest, and snap a photo. In fact, most of what he does with his love interest happens this way; it's the only means by which Lun can get what he wants out of the poor guy. Surprises keep the heart young, right?
