J-pop Groups?

Hello all!

Wondering if any of you are familiar with J-pop/J-rock groups.  I am working on a huge story for a very special writing challenge and I need tons of characters and I want to take them from outside of Kpop as well.  Kpop artists will of course be included, but I need to expand the geography a little.  Anybody familiar with good Jpop/Jrock groups I could include? Male and female? Help?

i will write the once i haben't seen so far, dir en grey (kyo is a very amazing character to take for writing) moi dix mois, hakuei with his groups pennecillin or machiene (another very intresting character) acid black cherry,
mucc, merry, m (disbanded but had such an amazing vocal),
somatic guardian (also disbanded) but they are closer to vkei
on the glamour rock side aka visual kei
ayabie, lm.c, sug (the vkei b.a.p) and billions of indie bands

well KAT-TUN, NEWS, Yamapi, One Ok Rock, The GazettE, L'arc en ciel, GACKT (My Bae!), Hikaru Utada, EXIST TRACE (Girl group),Jin akanshi, Hyde.

Im glad you are using Arashi... they are soooo goooood!!! (Sho < My fav for years)

This is exciting!!! Cant wait to see what you come up with since Jrock was the first asian music I actually got into like 7/8 years ago! Woo!

One Ok Rock, and My First Story are really good J-Rock male groups. The lead singers are brothers and they're awesome. I recommend Clock Strikes or Deeper Deeper from One Ok Rock, and 不可逆リプレイス or 最終回STORY by My First Story. ^.^

L'Arc-en-Ciel, KAT-TUN, Abingdon Boys School, Morning Musume, Ayumi Hamasaki, Kiyoharu, D'Espairs Ray, Dir en Grey, Hikaru Utada, Luna Sea, Mika Nakashima, Shiina Ringo, Yoko Kanno...

Not all around the age you need, I know, but just to give you a general idea. ;)

SMAP...Hey Say Jump...that's all. But most of the J-songs I heard are in 1980's.

I'm a Huge Arashi fan... Johnny's Boy group (j-pop).... so if you want I can talk about them for hours and hours and hours lol... Though that's probably not what you're going for lol...

But there are a lot more... both J-pop and J-rock... J-actors also... just depends on what you want...
