Fanfiction in Real Life

I have never written a non-boyxboy fanfic before, but I am writing a fic about my friend. She really likes this guy that goes to our college, well not my college anymore, but yeah. They are really good friends and their relationship is so weird. It's like... I can't really explain it. They just have a weird relationship. ANYWAYS, I told her that I wanted to write a fanfic about her life and she was like, "Yeah! Awesome!".... so I am. It's just so weird not writing about boys or anything Korean in general. I'm excited, but also kind of nervous. Ahaha. This should be interesting. *sigh* I can barely keep up with the two stories I am working on now, and I am adding another... Why do I do this? :'D All the people who are writing multiple stories at once... I give them so much credit!!!!! They are some very talented people.

That is interesting, yet curious. My writing has always come from my own personal experiences. Even the fanfics. Of course, with the fanfics, I usually include a few references to the character's life in reality throughout the story...being that fanfiction is mainly centered toward real people: idols, celebrities, and the like. But then again, it can also lean toward characters that have already been developed by other writers (ex: Star Trek's Captain Kirk and Mr Spock). I can pull things out of the air, things that I've never come up against..but, in that respect, research into details is necessary for me to bring it all together. I surely wouldn't place Minho and Taemin on an island off Japan surrounded by vegetation and animals that, in reality, couldn't survive in such a climate

As for author's who entertain more than one project at any given time, my hat goes off to them as well. Not to say that I don't have various storylines coming to life inside my mind, but I can only allow myself to rush and jot down short scenarios, filing them away and saving them for another day, without giving them my full attention. I believe I do that because I'm concerned that the current project will lose it's luster and magic, so to speak. But everyone is different.

And too, something to ponder, it may be something we, as authors, may actually have happen in spurts...kind of like, our muse flooding our psyche for a period of time, then suddenly vanishing, leaving us bone dry for inspiration.
