Song I Wrote: Opus
This song is about the power of love when we feel like all is lost and broken. It was originally title Vis Major, which is an awe-inspiring, inevitable calamity, but I changed it to Opus.
Opus: any musical or literary artistic work, usually on a large scale; a discovery, a creation
Opus
Why? Tell me the reason
That our spirits die so young
And fade with the seasons
If you've ever loved someone
Don't lose that feeling
When two hearts became one
And as we stand let's watch the falling of our demons
Let's not fear tomorrow's woes and pain
Take my hand and let your world rest on my shoulders
I'll wash your ocean's tears away
So sing out in the open
To the loves of yesterday
With words left unspoken
Shall we close our eyes and pray?
So that when they open
We might find our lost stars
We might find who we are
Drifting without a purpose
We drown away from home
Our hearts can't resurface
If you've ever lost someone
Don't stop believing
That two souls can be one
And as we walk let's search the sands that we were made of
Let's find out the fears we didn't see within
With all my heart I'll show you the meaning of true love
Before the tide pulls you back in
So sing out in the open
To the loves of yesterday
With words left unspoken
Shall we close our eyes and pray?
So that when they open
We might find our lost stars
We might find who we are
If I thought it meant that you would find me
Then I'd stop the world for all of time
If I thought I'd feel your arms around me
Then I'd shine
Sing out in the open
To the loves of yesterday
With words left unspoken
Pray before it gets too late
And we miss the moment
When we find our lost stars
When we find who we are
If I thought it meant that you would find me
Then I'd stop the world for all of time
If I thought I'd feel your arms around me
When we find our lost stars
When we find who we are
We will find our lost stars
We will find who we are
