It's Kim Freaking Sunggyu of Infinite!

A few days ago I made an account in a site where the members are only people from my country. Since I don't want to use my real name as the part of the username and I'm lack of creativity I use the last syllables of my bias, Kim Sung Gyu, so the username is started with something and ended with Gyu. I also put Sunggyu's photo as the profile picture. This exact photo:

Then just like what people usually do in a community site, I chat, comment, and make friends. But... you know what, almost all people who greet me, asking the same questions:

- Is that Kyuhyun?

- Are you an ELF?

- Your photo looks like Sungmin or Eunhyuk, but I'm not sure.

and the most ridiculous one is:

- You're not Kyuhyun!

Oh, well, thanks, I know I'm not Kyuhyun, you don't have to remind me (though I wish I have his brain, or his sassy retort)

I know the site is not a kpop community, and it has members from various age group and various background so people guessing my profile picture is a kpop idol is actually already a great achievement XD Moreover, though kpop in my country starts to become popular since a few years ago, but most people only know Super Junior (when I said most people I mean people who are not into kpop). Because Super Junior is like the oldest/biggest group known in my country, and the exposure of this group is quite big, their face posted in various ads and almost everyone know Sorry, Sorry. So whenever there are a group of Korean man dancing, people would say, hey is that Super Junior?

General people only know Super Junior.

I also know Infinite is not a really popular fandom in my country. I think older fans like Super Junior, Big Bang, 2NE1, TVXQ and SNSD more, whilst younger fans favor EXO, BTS and any other bands that debuted in 2013/2014. Or so according to my not-so scientific observation, cmiiw. And even if people know Infinite, they only remember Kim Myungsoo, the visual of the group, not all members. So, people wrong guessing Sunggyu is, well, uhm, reasonable(?) and people thinking Gyu is taken from Kyuhyun (or Gyuhyun) is also understandable.

/cries river/

OOT;

I remember when Infinite had One Great Step in my country, the audience was not so many. According to my friends who went to Super Junior Show (also in my country), the stadium was full (if not almost) and another friend who went to Music Bank (still, I'm talking the one that held in my country, to make it as the constant variable) also said the seats were all taken (though the concert organizer only used half of the stadium). Meanwhile, in Infinite concert it wasn't. One of a girl I didn't know even turned to me and asked, "Is it all? The audience is only this much?"

The tribunes looked deserted (it was clearly looked empty, if the people there didn't turn on their light stick or hand phone, I wouldn't know there were people there, and not so many people have light stick) and the outer festival (the outer standing area) only consisted of three or four layers of people, and after that empty space dozen meters up to the entrance door. I'm not sure with the other areas, but I think inner festival was quite packed. (Though silently I'm pretty glad the stadium wasn't fill to capacity, I might got an asthma attack if there were too many people crowding around me.)

Because there was not so many people, the room felt cold and also I even could sit down in the floor when Sunggyu performed his solo song. (I prefer sat back and enjoyed his voice, watching his face from the big screen rather than enforced myself near the stage where people holding up their sign board and tablet to record the performance, I could enjoy it more from behind. I'm too short I couldn't see beyond the sea of hands and boards and tablets T_T)

I also think one fifth of the audience was parents who escorted their children.

TLDR;

So, since I've forgotten my real purpose in writing this blog, if I carelessly draw a conclusion, Infinite is still not so popular in my country, and Kim Sunggyu still needs years of effort to make people recognize him (and his band mates).

Oops, I mean I'll work harder to poisoning people around me to like Infinite XD

Now, as the closing please enjoy my edit of Sunggyu's photo and tell me what you think, kekekeke~
