Writers and Readers (Stolen from anntran98)

I'm just sort of doing this in the meantime, while I try and write my stories ;u; //plus this was fun to answer.

State your fanfiction pen name - headinthebooks101

Are you more of a reader or a writer? - Being a reader has led me to become a writer, so I say they both intermingle with each other.

When did you first start reading or writing fanfiction? Been reading it since grade 6-7, writing it since grade 7, took almost a 4 year break before starting back up with EXO.

What's the first fanfiction you ever read or wrote? What is it about? First one I ever read was a fanfic my friend recommended (that's how I got started into it) from Percy Jackson and it was about the Stoll brothers and their antics. First one I ever wrote was also PJ, but a spin-off of demi-god truth and dare lol. I never finished it and it was bad so I don't really count it as my first story. My official first would be an Ouran High School Host Club story in which Haruhi travels to America to study law with the Host Club in tow (she also most definitely wouldn't end up with Tamaki).

What ratings do you read/write? I read all sorts, the ratings don't matter to me. In terms of writing, I stay with PG-13, T type of stories.

What was your first fandom? Percy Jackson for sure, still love it and still in it.

List all the fandoms you have read or written in. - Read: Percy Jackson, Twilight, Hunger Games, Gakuen Alice, Heart no Kuni no Alice, La Corda D'oro, OHSHC, Code Geass, etc. (I have more but I can't remember.) Written: Percy Jackson, OHSHC, and now mainly EXO all the way.

What is your favorite fandom to write or read about? - EXO of course, ;u; there are so many wonderful writers in this fandom I can't even--

Any fandom you would like to write in? - Not really, if I feel the urge then sure, but all my urges are being fulfilled with EXO.

What was your first ship? - My first overall ship? That'd be Percabeth, and then HaruhixHikaru for anime. In terms of kpop, then Hunhan.

List all the pairings you have read or written in. - Read: Basically a lot of the possible ships in EXO, but my favs are Hunhan, Baekyeol, Kaisoo, Sulay, Xiuchen. Written: LOL basically my favs plus a little of Taoris too.

What is your favorite pairing to read or write about? - Hunhan is top bae, but I actually notice that I read more Baekyeol and Kaisoo fics. Anyways, they're all fun to write about.

Is there any pairing you refuse to read or write about? - Chansoo, Krisyeol, Krisho.

What is your favorite genre? - All types really, depends what mood I'm in would be my fav at the time.

What is your least favorite genre? - Horror, Mpreg and Yuri.

Any genre you would like to read/write for? - I'm already writing what I want to write about LOL. So no problemo there. But I guess a Kaisoo fic sometime in the future.

List all your favorite authors. - John Green is one of my fav authors as well as Rick Riordan (THAT TROLOLOL). Gayle Forman is also fabulous. In terms of AFF... Too many really and I fangirl over a lot of stories, currently though I'm loving Korekrypta's work, as well as Taelighted, and Chopstickeu. (Those who I haven't mentioned, doesn't mean I don't love you any less OKAY? OKAY. //please don't kill me.)

Which writers inspire your own work? - Anyone really, I gather a lot of inspiration from everywhere and then it sort of lumps into one.

What story has the most impact to you, so much that you remember it all the time? - This is sort of typical but Revolution will always give me feels.

What is the website you use most to read or write fanfiction? - AFF for the most part with a side of Fanfiction.net.

Any certain things you avoid reading or writing about? - OCs that are predictable and have no personality whatsoever. Mpreg for sure because that freaks me out. Stories with ridiculous pacing and poor grammar.

What do you enjoy best about fanfiction in general? - The fact that people write for the love of writing and their love for a certain fandom and nothing else. The way that people spin their imaginations, putting in characteristics we may recognize from people but sometimes making them truly their own. It's all lovely.

Does the number of reviews tell how good a story is? - Not at all. There are so many hidden gems everywhere, it's wonderful when you discover one (but it's not like I'm downsizing pop stories either, they deserve the attention also.)

How long should a chapter be? - I'm more of a one-shot, two-shot type of writer so when I first wrote Past Perplexity, I had to ask a friend. So I guess around 2-3k at least.

Have you ever flamed someone? - Nope.

Have you ever been flamed? - No.

Do you do roleplay online? - A while back, but not anymore.

WRITERS ONLY:

How many published fanfictions have you written? - Published? Then it's two, a chaptered story, and a long two-shot that's completed.

Which one of your fanfictions has the most words, upvotes, subscribers, comments, etc.? Bitter Mornings, Sweet Afternoons, seriously thank you for those who love it //sobs.

At the moment, which one of your fanfictions is your favorite or you’re most proud of (you can include unpublished fanfictions)? - They're all my babies though... But I think when I develop Past Perplexity more, it'll definitely be a fav, otherwise I have a fic on the way that I'm really loving right now.

Out of all the characters you have written, which one do you feel you identify the most with? - Luhan in BMSA because he reflects my inner thoughts a lot of the time. And Min Jee in PP because of how she acts, is the way I would think I'd act, as I'm trying to make her a relatable character.

Do you use a beta-reader? - No, I'm a perfectionist myself so I'll catch my own mistakes...eventually.

What warnings have you used on your stories? - "Warning: Cheesy pick-up lines, general swearing, insanity, etc."

What makes you happy the most as a writer? - Seeing comments, those make my life, and fuel my engine to write even more. Because while I'm proud of my work, I'm happy to see when people love it too.

Have you ever stolen something from another person's work? - Never, it when people do. I've somewhat been inspired by another's work though.

What do you feel is your biggest challenge when writing? - Having a plan for major plot points but then having to write the in-between of point A to point B which I don't plan.

Do you have a certain ritual to do before or after you write? - Depends on the story, I wrote BMSA in silence (and procrastinating my end of the year exam studying), and I wrote PP while binge watching Supernatural. For each story, I have different routines so that it can inspire the certain mood I'm setting I guess.

Do you actively advertise your story or request for reviews or upvotes? - I've only asked for reviews.

Would you ever want a trailer for a fanfiction you've written to be made? - Yes and no. Yes because that'd be beautiful and epic, no because some part of me feels like it's not how I'll imagine it and it'll be disappointing. (Otherwise I'm sure in the future, I might ask for one.)

Girlllllllll, why didn't I see this sooner lol. I would've been the first to comment :, ( Anyways, it seems like we have a bazillion and one similarities with each other! I can't get enough of Hunhan either, and I went and read Revolution and...wow. Percy Jackson was my favorite series for a very long time (until HG took over) and I agree with the other points you made.
And omg, you have popular authors fangirling down in the comments. You're a superstar!
