personality » JaeHwa is a "Happy-Go-Lucky" type of person, but sometimes it's hard to tell because she only smirks and has a "cold" appearance when in reality she is probably the happiest person on Earth. She has the ability to confuse people or surprise them when she first meets someone because they think she will be rude and cold, but she turns out to be kind and warm. She is very calm though when compared to the other members. She is always the quietest one during actvities or such. She does have her moments when she becomes loud, but mainly she is quiet. She is also very cooperative. She always makes friends with whoever she is working with and never has ny problems with them. Even if the person is completely different from her, she still manages to befriend the person and they cooperate with each other. JaeHwa is also incorrubtible. She does not follow in other people footsteps, except when it comes to style and clothing of course. She is not gullible and doesn't believe in rumors easily. 

JaeHwa is also brutally honest which can sometimes be a harm. She is always the first to speak her mind and rarely ever lies. If someone asks for her opinion, she tells them her opinion without sparing their feelings. She automatically regrets if she says something rude and apologizes a million times after. She can be very impatient at times as well. She has a hard time going on plane rides or long car rides because she can't wait that long, so she needs to be busy the entire time or sleeping to keep her mind off the time. She is also a person who is indecisive. She always has a hard time on choosing things such as her outfits or even what she wants to eat. If anyone asks her what she wants or what she wants to do, she will just shake her head and say nothing because she knows it will take her a long time to think of something. The members never ask her to decide what to eat because they also know that she will contemplate between to things for about 10 minutes. JaeHwa is also at times very moody and exaggerates her emotions. She can be known as the "Reaction Queen" because of her mood swings. She can become extremely happy from something like eating or become extremely sad if she were to pass by a crying baby.

background » JaeHwa was born and raised in Incheon, South Korea. She grew with many idols, like HyoYeon, RyeoWook, and Minho, along with people who aren't idols. When she was a little kid, you could always find her at the park playing on the swings or climbing the trees. When she started elementary school, she would walk around the streets of Incheon, befriending her neighbors or the owners of the little shops. As she grew up, she became more friendly and would always stop by to greet her favorite store owners. During her school days she was somewhat popular, but not the most popular student. She often got mistaken for a snobby, arrogant student, but some students befriended her revealing her soft side to other students. She became best friends with HyoYeon, RyeoWook, and Minho and were always hanging out with each other.

She grew up with her two parents and as an only child. Her parents are store owners of a local store and are quite busy, so they have no time to have another child. Although it wasn't a huge problem, JaeHwa wouldv'e liked to have a sibling that way she wouldn't be bored most of the time. Her father became ill when their business was at its peak, which caused much commotion and caused her father to have even more stress. Even after all the caring her mother, the hospital, and herself, did he grew more and more ill everyday and eventually passed away leaving the store to her mother. Her mother was saddened for quite awhile, but managed to take care of the store and JaeHwa while still smiling. 

JaeHwa was surprised when she heard the news about HyoYeon, RyeoWook, and Minho being trainees at SM Entertainment and wanted to join them. Unfortunately, she was declined and told that they already had too many trainees and were unable to take her in. Although she was sad, she encouraged her friends and were their #1 fan. After her audition at SM, a lady at the front desk had told her that Starship Entertainment were going to have auditions soon and she immediately became interested. She began practicing and practcing until the day of the audition and performed with all she could for the judges. She was accepted and became a trainee in 2010. Having experience in dancing and rapping before, all she needed to do was practice on her vocal skills more.

love story » They met when they both were at the Incheon airport. She was going back to her seat in the waiting area after getting something to eat when she saw someone sitting next to her stuff, and it just so happened to be Mark, who had also just become a trainee. Coincidentally, they both sat next to each other on the plane ride and quickly became friends. They exchanged each other's numbers and began texting each other that very day. Texting led to calling, calling led to video chatting, and that led to them hanging out. They became best friends and were very inseperable. They act like the best friends that they are. Sometimes they even act like a couple because they aren't afraid to show skinship with each other. Whenever they get the chance or when they have free time, they always hang out.
