My feels over the 6415 chord progression + AAA is ridiculous.

* For those who are weirded out by my emerging musical nerd, watch THIS for reference.

Funnily enough, if you search up "6415 chord progression" on Youtube, you would end up finding my piano covers in the results instead. Oh dear. I'm really too enthusiastic over chord patterns in pop songs now.

TBH, I don't know whether I should be scream and fangirling over the fact so many people use this pattern now, or scream out of anguish.

Hm.

I think it's becoming a mixture of both.

Is there such thing as torture that feels good?

Yeah, no, not .

I mean, aural torture which brings in those feels. SABIJGDHLJMT,KUYLI.

Since I'm now growing out of K-pop, I'm now more focused on Japanese songs, namely those by my favourite groups AAA and AKB/SKE/HKT48.

But let's talk about AAA again, shall we? e u e I am so in love with them since late last year, it's unhealthy to be talking so much about them on here when barely anyone knows about them.

Well, it seems alright and normal if I continuously spazz about INFINITE here 24/7 but when it comes to the lesser known bands...I know I look like a freak.

BUT WHO CARES?? HAHAR.

Gaaaaawd. I think aside from the fact they are a co-ed group (best of both words. eue;; <3) and that many of their genres perfectly suit my music preferences (according to Wikipedia, they're best well-known for their electronic dance, eurobeat, techno and club songs), the reason why I'm heads over heels over AAA is because I'M BIASED TO THIS STUPID, STUPID 6415 PATTERN THEY SEEM TO FREQUENTLY USE.

No one can understand how I feel, ugh. Possibly except for Priscy123, LOL. ;)

Okay, so currently I'm still obsessed over 'Party It Up' since last year and I think that song might also be my song of the year too in 2014. I still can't get enough of that track, seriously. The beats are so addictive. Doof doof.

And then there's 'Metamorphose', which uses a slightly modified version of the pattern in parts of the intro/outro and chorus (65415).

^ I admit the girls in this live don't sound good. The song's too fast and energetic though, so it's expected. sOB WHY IS YOUTUBE TAKING DOWN ALL THE GOOD MP3 VIDS OF THEIR SONGS. *stabs copyright*

I recently discovered an oooooold song sung by the AAA boys only called 'Soul Edge Boy'. A song with a heavy rock feel, very "badass". Although this being the earlier days of AAA, most of the guys in the MV look uber shaggy. OTL Pure 6415 used in the intro, verses, majority of the chorus and outro. UNNNF DAT BASS GUITAR.

Talking about old rock songs, here's 'That's Right', frankly the first song I heard from AAA which also led to this obsession I have now. OTL 6415 throughout the whole entire song except for the prechorus and bridge. Ugh. You can tell this song's uber old - you can see Yukari was still in the group before she left.

Not to mention, Urata looks freaking black in that MV. ._."

And, oh, freaking great. As I search for more songs, I see another boys-only song called 'Break Your Name' which uses 6415 in the beginning of the intro, some parts of the verses and chorus. It's pathetic TBH, because I SWEAR THEY'VE USED THE SAME PIANO RIFF FROM 'METAMORPHOSE' IN THE LATER PARTS OF THIS SONG TOO. RECYCLED SONG MUCH??

On the other hand, there is a song by the AAA girls which also uses the 6415 chord progression, 'Summer Revolution' which was released the same time as 'Break Your Name'. I legitmately facepalmed myself when I first heard this song, using this particular pattern in the instrumental leading up to the verse and the verses itself too after an exciting non-6415 intro. And that piano...-.-" Wow, I wonder what music program thingo the AAA producers use, cause that really bright, honky tonky piano is becoming really recognisable to my ears now.

This year, they released 'Hands' which strangely enough, not many people know about. Another modified version of 6415 noted in the majority of the chorus and outro (I dunno, the chords I hear are Fm (6), Db (4), Ab (1, the song's key is Ab/G#/whatever that middle black key is! XD), Eb (5) then C/E (?!) then it's repeated again WUT--). I'm not a fan of dubstep and weird transitions so I actually don't have this song despite the use of the chord progression. Like, seriously, the transitioning from verse to chorus in this song is horrible and not smooth at all.

AND GUESS FREAKING WHAT?!

TONIGHT AS I'M TYPING THIS, ONE PIECE'S SPECIAL 15TH ANNIVERSARY EPISODE IS GOING TO BE BROADCASTED ON TV AND AAA'S UNRELEASED SONG 'NEXT STAGE' IS GOING TO BE THE CLOSING (?) THEME SONG TO THE ANIME. They sang 'Wake Up' for One Piece too earlier this year but that's nothing special for my ears.

WHAT 'NEXT STAGE' IS SOUNDING SO FAR THOUGH--

...

IS THAT YET ANOTHER 6415 PATTERN USED IN THE CHORUS I HEAR?!?!?!

DASFGRJTKYTILUOUIKYUJTYRWEAW

So far, the song sounds quite strong. Possibly the strongest "fast" song from AAA since 'Party It Up'. Legit. Everyone loved that song from last year according to online reviews.

BUT OMFG, FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK.

UGH I CANNOT WITH THIS.

SERIOUSLY.

MY EARS CANNOT TAKE THIS.

AND OH GOODY, LOOK. AAA'S NEW ALBUM 'GOLD SYMPHONY' IS COMING OUT ON 1ST OCTOBER THIS YEAR, WHICH CONTAINS 11 TRACKS.

7 OF THEM ARE ALREADY/WILL BE OUT IN THE PUBLIC:

- Love
- Circle (Heard this song already, sounds weird. Nope.)
- Hands
- Wake Up
- Kaze ni Kaoru Natsu no Kioku (EEEEP MY FAVOURITE SONG BY FAR IN THIS TRACKLIST! <3)
- Sayonara no Mae ni
- Next Stage

NO.

YOU DO NOT DO THIS TO ME.

YOU CANNOT PUT 2 OR MORE 6415 SONGS IN AN ALBUM GDI YOU LIL' BASTARD--

This is the same problem I had with Shinhwa's 'The Return' album from 2 years ago. OTL 'Venus', 'Hurts' and 'Let It Go' had the same pattern too, and I couldn't resist it so I ended up buying the album this year when I was in Hong Kong despite the fact I'm not a fan of the Shinhwa members (although I highly respect them as seniors of K-pop).

Seems like I have this never-ending battle against this highly-used progression that seems to plague all contemporary songs out there today.

And now I've proven myself to be more of a weird freak now with my unreal hearing skills. *flips hair*

GUYS, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DO MUSIC FOR VCE. YOU WILL START TO FIND YOURSELF DISSECTING EVERY SINGLE SONG YOU HEAR TO PIECES.

UPDATE 21/10/14: Found out that another one of their older songs, 'Let It Beat', uses the chord progression in some parts of the chorus. OTL And unfortunately, AAA's 'Gold Symphony' album contains 3 tracks with 6415 too ('Next Stage', 'Shout & Shake', 'Hands'). AAA, THAT'S 10 SONGS SO FAR UGH.

ANOTHER SONG I AM IN LOVE WITH. The 16th opening for Fairy Tail.
Strike Back by BACK-ON. Pure 6415 there. XDD

Ahem...do you happen to listen to j-rock (not really visual kei but more like flumpool, ONE OK ROCK, rookiez is punk'd, etc)?
There's a really eargasmic 6415 song by ONE OK ROCK called The Beginning (if you haven't heard): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh9yZWeTmVM
And Re:Make (more hardcore):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67m9E6uDgxs
And one of my favourites, Nevereverland by the utaite Nano (I promise you'll love this one):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eGazzxcp3I

I'm also drifting away from k-pop, but I'm venturing more into rock, utaites, vocaloid (like Honeyworks, EXIT Tunes, etc), and ANIME music. ARGHHH my guilty pleasure.

I'm getting really off-topic sorry OTL. If you like eargasmic songs (unfortunately not all of them are 6415 but are pretty close to it, like 6451, 4561, lots of flat 6ths, etc), I'll be glad to throw heaps of songs at you for you to listen XD

I have a things for flat 6ths now, as shown in the chorus of Fantastic Tune by Kensho Ono, Confession Rehearsal by Honeyworks, Yasashisa no Riyuu by ChouCho, etc.
