As an author on AFF, I think it's safe to say that one of the happiest things for me to see is the same readers comment/subscribe to my various stories.  On the lighthearted side, it makes for great conversation since I love responding to comments and questions.  On the more serious side, it's a very warm and fuzzing feeling to know readers like my stories enough to read more than one of my work.  Even though I often quote intrinsic reasons for writing (such as feeling self-fullfillment, watching my own movie play in my head, or letting out my inner erseness), seeing comments and subscriptions from these readers boost my confidence in my writing and encourage me to write more.
