style. Being French, Nina has always been up to date with the latest trends, usually including short-shorts and bare shoulders. not that she so much enjoyed showing off her skin, it was just whate everyone else was doing. when she moved to korea, her fashion became a little bit more conservative, though not much. she's never the first to wear a new fashion as that is intimidating and makes her stand out, but she's always on the list of the first 10.

PERSONALITY.

She is what you'd call a contradiction in terms. She's a fighter but never does anything, she's optimistic yet pessimistic, and she believes in both saving the best for last and eating dessert first.

Nina is a girl with very strong morals and a brain full of new ideas. Whenever she sees something she considers immoral, she gets incredibly angry at the world and it's cruelty. She'll immediately start devising countless plans in her head about the many ways she could put an end to the hardships these people endure. Just when she decides on the best course of action and builds up the courage to execute it, she suddenly gets this awful fear of failure. What if things don't go right? What if she can't pull the pieces together? What will people think of her? They'll shun her for sure. She'll never be rid of the guilt and shame. And finally, after brooding over it and upsetting herself to no end, Nina always ends up giving up on the cause. Her fear of failure is so great that she'd prefer never to try. If you never try you'll never fail. She also knows that if you never try you'll never succeed, but it's difficult for her slightly pessimistic mind to think that way.

Nina loves being herself. She sometimes sees her reflection in a passing mirror and smiles, just knowing that she is Liang Nina, no one else. She realizes her many flaws, her imperfections, all the things she could improve upon, but at the same time she doesn't mind. She is truly grateful to have been born in France, to have her mother and father, to go to the schools she attended, to have the opportunities she did. While everything in her life may not have been easy or fun, it has all helped her in becoming who she is. In this way, she has a very positive outlook on life. She believes that everything happens for a reason and that there's no such thing as a bad experience or a bad day. Because of this view of the world, Nina tends to be a very happy person most of the time which can get irritating for people that are in bad moods. The only time Nina's smile will fade is when she sees the injustices mentioned in the first paragraph.

Nina has some odd philosophies that sometimes contradict each other. For example, she firmly agrees that saving the best for last makes the journey more motivated and worthwhile to get to that reward at the end, but at the same time she believes that it's best to eat dessert first (enjoy the best part first) because if you continue to save that part, it may be taken away from you, leaving you without whatever you were saving, like if you saved your favorite fruit for last out of a fruit salad and then a sibling came along and stole the fruit. This creates problems for Nina in decision making. Most of the time, she solves it by saying that in small matters, such as food, she will save the best for last. However, in larger matters, such as an opportunity to study abroad, she'll seize the opportunity as soon as it is offered instead of waiting, because who knows when she'll be able to do it another time. She does similar compromises between her other conflicting philosophies such as "don't fret over the future" and "shape your own destiny" or "focus on what really matters" verse "enjoy the little joys of life".

[general idea: strong morals and ideas, but intense fear of failure, generally a happy person except when witnessing injustices, believes that everything happens for a reason and so no experience is truly bad, likes to save the best for last with small things like food, takes all opportunities given to her now because who knows when they'll be offered again]

BACKGROUND.

Nina was born into a rather normal household. Her Chinese father and French mother lived together in the bustling capital city of Paris where they had met working under a very popular fashion company. When Nina was born, they decided to move out to somewhere a little quieter, to let her grow up in a little bit of a safer, friendlier environment. However, there was no work for them in the truly quaint areas so they chose a city that wasn't too big or too small. There Nina grew up as an only child. Her parents gradually created their own business running a clothing store and, though they were far from rich, the family got along just fine.

In school, Nina was an average student. She got mostly B's and had a mixture of higher level courses along with the lower ones. She had her tight-knit group of friends that would do everything together from shopping to going to the arcade. Her love life was average as well, having one or two boyfriends over the course of middle and high school, but she was never the queen of the school or a real heart breaker. Everything about her was completely and entirely normal. That is, until the fire. In the summer before Nina's third year in high school, a terrible fire broke out in her parent's shop. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the clothes, all their plans for future designs, and a large sum of money were all lost.

Nina was sent immediately to stay with her grandmother in Seoul, Korea to help lessen the burden on her parents. She didn't know any Korean at the time, but boy did she learn fast. She also learned that school in Korea was much harder than the ones in France. If she didn't increase her efforts, she would've flunked out of school within a year! But knowing how hard that would be on her parents, Nina worked at her studies day and night, bringing her even higher than she had been before. Though she wasn't exactly the top of her class, she was decently close to it. For a foreigner that is.

During her stay, Nina picked up a part-time job working at a bar a few blocks away from her grandmother's small apartment. It wasn't a dump, but it wasn't a 5-star restaurant. Sometimes she was a waitress and other times she bused tables, but for the most part she sang. Her voice had always been pretty and her parents had given her lessons in her earlier years. And the men at the bar seemed to love the French songs she would sometimes sing. But one night, someone she wasn't expecting came to the bar, a talent scout. And that is where the real story begins.

LIKES.

  • the outdoors | Nina loves to explore and run around in nature, especially in springtime while everything is blooming
  • food | she'll eat just about anything, though French food is her favorite as it reminds her of home (especially crepes)
  • shopping | fashion has always been a large part of her life as her parents owned a clothes store
  • traveling | seeing the world and other cultures is fascinating for Nina
  • the sound of water | it's the most soothing thing in the world to her. she could sit listening to the rain hit the roof for hours
  •

DISLIKES.

  • people who are always in a bad mood | they're no fun and annoy Nina almost as much as she annoys them
  • the city | there's so much injustice in cities, it makes it even harder to turn a blind eye to them
  • grapes and anything grape-flavored | it reminds her of the medicine she was given when in the hospital
  • diets | whenever she hears that anyone that doesn't need to lose weight is going on a diet, she gets incredibly angry and worried and will immediately start scolding that person
  • sports | she's never been good at them, not that she ever tried to play them. again, too afraid that she'd fail and have people laugh at her
  •

HABITS.

  • biting her tongue and the insides of her cheeks when she's contemplating ways to right a wrong
  • staring at her reflection with a big smile until she notices that people are looking at her weird and then tries to explain that she's not conceited, but merely thinking about how lucky she is
  • dancing a little bit whenever she sings, even if she's sitting down or just mumbling a song
  •

TRIVIA.

  • She's terribly afraid of being alone in a dark room at night. She tries her best to hide this from everyone, though, because she thinks people will label her as a baby.
  • Nina is terribly allergic to dogs, but loves them anyway and will up the symptoms to play with them.
  • Nina is a fantastic chef, though when with her members she pretends to be a terrible cook so that she won't have to cook for them constantly.
  • Dancing is Nina's real passion, despite being the main vocalist of the group. She admires Suyoung for her incredible dancing abilities and secretly tries to imitate them when she's alone in her room.
  • Her favorite color is a light, crystal blue. She describes it as "the color the ocean gets when it's as pure as moonlight".
the people i love (or hate).

FAMILY.

Mother | Antoinette Le'shui | 48 | Co-owner of a clothing shop called Marie's Antoinette | She's always busy, always has something to do whether it be talking to customers, ordering new fabrics, discussing advertisement with other businesses, or sometimes going out to dinner with her friends. There's never a dull moment in her life. She's the real backbone of the business and is the only reason that it hasn't fallen completely apart after the fire. | For the most part, her mother didn't play a lead role in Nina's childhood. She was definitely there when Nina needed to talk to her, to ask for her advice, to hug someone and have them tell her they love her, but Nina never felt incredibly close to her mother. They still have a decent mother-daughter relationship, however, and talk often despite being so far away.

Father | Liang Dihuang | 49 | Co-owner of a clothing shop called Marie's Antoinette | He's the laid-back, easy going type with a big heart filled with love and open for everyone. He's the type of guy that will make funny faces at a crying baby in public to make them feel better. In general, one of the nicest, shortest men you'll find in France. | Nina absolutely adores her father. They've always been close, since she was a toddler, due to their similar interests in the outdoors and traveling. The two have gone all over France together, sometimes for no reason other than they felt like it. He's the one that Nina knows she can go to for anything, but at the same time she tries her best not to burden him with her troubles. She knows that he has plenty of troubles of his own, especially after the shop burned down.

Grandmother | Liang Minhua | 68 | retired | Your stereotypical adorable old lady, she is very welcoming and kind while remaining conservative and, to an extent, stuck in the past. She is terrible with technology, she even has trouble turning on the tv sometimes and has to call Nina to ask for instructions for the 138th time. But she's a great cook and tries her best to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable in her home. | Nina loves her grandmother a lot despite how frustratingly protective she can be at times. They have their fair share of arguments over silly little things, but they always make up in no time and continue to enjoy each other's company.

FRIENDS.

Best Friend | Hwang Miyoung | 19 | Patient at Intensive Care Home | Miyoung always an answer. Yes, sometimes these answers were complete bs, but she always seemed to know what to do. If you needed advice, ask Miyoung. You could never take what she said at face value as Miyoung was known for her embellishments, but her stories were always the greatest and could turn a silent room into a group of friends with the snap of her fingers. There was no such thing as an awkward silence with this girl, as would hardly ever stop moving. Her energy could be a little bit too much to take at times, but it was always worth it. Now, due to the diseases and weakness she contracted from her anorexia, she is a very different person. She often lacks energy and will sometimes even fall asleep in the middle of a conversation. She is still witty and likes to make up entertaining stories, but it's hard for her to finish them without forgetting a part or two, completely ruining the hilarity. Still, she's a good person to talk to if you're ever in a pinch and need some good ideas. Besides, she's a true friend that you can count on to pull through for you despite her condition. | They were both trainees under Nega Network. The two were scheduled to be in a girl group together, but due to the hospitalizations of first Nina and then Miyoung, this group never got off the ground. | Nina tries to visit Miyoung as often as possible, though that's never as often as she would like. The two girls feel connected and each is a comfort to the other as well as motivation. For Miyoung, Nina is motivation to keep living and always try to improve her condition. For Nina, Miyoung is motivation to end the cruelty inflicted upon those in the music industry.

Close Friend | Park Gi Eun | 19 | Trainee | see below under fellow members of Mistress

Friend | Kim Himchan | 20 | Trainee [until debut in 2012] | Himchan is an interesting character. Sometimes a ditz, sometimes a flirt, and always pretty hot. He's popular among all the trainees, even some of the guys, for his charisma and talent. He loves the attention, though sometimes he withes that he had more people to call simple friends who didn't want to be anything more than that. | They met as Trainees under TS Entertainment | For Himchan, Nina is a breath of fresh air. She doesn't see him as a potential boyfriend, not only because she has her eyes on someone else, but also because he's simply not her type. She's not his type either and so the flirting is kept to mere playfulness. They joke around a lot and spend time together, creating suspicion about them possibly being together, though they both assure everyone that there's nothing to it.

RIVAL. ---

the harsh reality.

COMPANY. Nega Network for a total of 2, 1 and a half years before joining SY
CURRENT. TS Entertainment for almost a year
MORE. ---

DISCOVERED. While in Korea, she was street casted when a talent scout happened to hear her sing at a bar where she was working part time to help pay for her stay at her grandmother's.

HISTORY.

After having been discovered by the scout from Nega Network, Nina was reluctant to sign their contract. She was, like always, afraid of failing at being an idol. She consulted her dad about it and he was all for it. He wanted something big and important to happen to his little girl. Something to make her feel more welcomed and at home in Korea until things were better back in France. He didn't know what she was getting herself into.

She signed on to the company and immediately fell in love with the work. Dancing, singing, acting, she'd never realized how much fun work could be. Every day she could be found in the practice rooms training till she was blue in the face and she met lots of new people that didn't judge her for her grades or the fact that she used to live in France, but by how hard she was working. Her favorite friend was a girl by the name of Hwang Miyoung. They spent countless hours together, both in and out of the practice rooms. It was a dream come true. Until the company decided it was time to look at the possibility of debut for Nina. When they finally decided that she was good enough to be put in a prospective girl group, Nina was ecstatic. But the company had a few requirements before she could become an official member. They told her that she needed to lose some weight. Already on the lighter side of the healthy range for her height, Nina was surprised, but she agreed and began dieting. Dieting turned to anorexia and before she knew it, her grandma was dialing 119 (Asian version of 911) to rush her to the emergency room.

After a month of treatment, Nina was finally able to recover fully. Her grandma, being the protective person she was, led the fight in pursuing the company to make amends for their wrongdoing. They agreed to not force other trainees through the same treatment and to allow Nina to eat however she liked as long as the matter was kept hush and Nina remained a trainee under the company. Reluctantly, her grandmother agreed. Nina felt triumphant, like she had, through her own sacrifice, protected her fellow trainees from suffering the same fate she did. This dream was shattered quickly when a mere 4 months later, Miyoung was secretly forced to become anorexic as well. She too was hospitalized, but was not nearly as lucky as Nina. She developed a minute form of dementia and her body wouldn't take in an adequate amount of nutrients anymore. She was therefore placed on permanent intensive care and released from her contract with Nega. These events broke Nina's heart more than anything else in the world could have. It led Nina to becoming a writer on SY to expose these sorts of crimes. A few months later, Miyoung convinced Nina to get out of her contract by threatening to sue for breaking the written promise to her grandmother. They did let her leave the company and she auditioned for TS Entertainment with hopes that they would treat their trainees better. Her hopes were not in vain, as TS is 100 times better than Nega, though still far from perfect. She continues to write about the atrocities she sees at TS and has heard about from her friends still working at Nega.

STAGENAME. Going to be Nini after their debut

DEBUT. Scheduled to debut under TS Entertainment with a girl group called Mistress in Spring of 2014.

Members:

Birth name ~ Stage Name ~ Age as of 2010 ~ Position ~ Personality ~ Relationship

Park Gi Eun ~ Gigi ~ 19 ~ Leader ~ Tries to act motherly and protective whenever anyone important is around, but is really the one that needs taking care of on a regular basis. A bit of a ditz, but generally kind hearted. ~ Nina gets along well with her, practicing together and going out to form bonds that they hope will help them through the hard training and difficult idol life in the future.

Liang Nina ~ Nini ~ 19 ~ Main vocalist ~ When with the group, Nina tries to be everyone's friend. She doesn't want enemies anywhere, least of all sharing a dorm room with her. She's polite, tends to their needs, and is the member that gets the job done most of the time. ~ The others depend on her greatly, but she doesn't really mind. None of their demands are too extreme and the company provides them with room and board so it's not too much extra work.

Chang Suyoung ~ Susu ~ 17 ~ Main dancer ~ Very passionate and a hard-worker, but not the most sociable person. She tends to keep to herself, neither getting in anyone's way nor going out of her way for anyone else. ~ She doesn't interact that much with the other members, especially when no senpais are around.

Jung Yooni ~ Yooyoo ~ 14 ~ Visual ~ A true baby, she's absolutely adorable. Aegyo is her specialty and she's always got enough energy to fuel a steamboat. Needy and attention-hungry, it takes a lot of effort to get this girl under control. Unless you're important in the company, in which case she listens to you intently and wastes no time in doing your bidding. ~ She's all over the other girls, even Suyoung. She wants nothing more than for all of them to be best friends and play together all day long.

Their debut album is scheduled to be called Mrs. Me. These are the intended tracks
1. Bad Girl [title track]

2. Pretty Pretty

3. Hate You

4. Dada La

OTHER. ---

SINCERELY YOURS.

WHY DID THEY JOIN SINCERELY YOURS?. Miyoung's tragedy was the last straw. Finally there was an injustice that Nina thought she had corrected and it felt so good, but all her fears of failure came true. She had tried and failed, creating a terrible unnecessary loss of a life. Nina blamed herself for this. If she had spoken up sooner like her intuition had been telling her to since she joined the company, maybe she could have actually made a difference. Well for once she was determined to continue on the path of righting what was wrong. SY was the perfect opportunity to further the single cause that had made it's way past the drawing board and onto the table. Though this breakthrough didn't effect her so much that she now talks about all of her ideas and plans to make things right, this one issue is enough to give her an outlet for all the anger toward injustice that has built up inside her.

GOAL. To actually change things so what happened to Miyoung doesn't ever happen again. She wants the public to be aware of what companies can and will force trainees to do in order to look picture-perfect. That way, new trainees will read their contracts carefully and possibly avoid giving companies full rights to their bodies. Also, the people who are going through similar situations can see that they aren't alone in their struggles and that their is a way out, just like Nina escaped, and that they should leave before something terrible happens. If the cause gets far enough, maybe even lawyers and politicians will take notice and act out against the tyrants.

ALIAS. Miyoung

special someone?
LOVE INTEREST. Yongguk [B.A.P.]
AGE. 20
OCCUPATION. trainee [until debut in 2012]
RELATIONSHIP. unofficially dating
BACK-UP. Daehyun

PERSONALITY.

Yongguk is, in a way, the complete opposite of Nina. While it's a little difficult to understand her with all her contradictions, Yongguk is pretty simple. This definitely doesn't mean he's boring, as a matter of fact quite the opposite, he's just rather straightforward.

He can seem very cold and distant when you first meet him, with his deep voice and intimidating gaze, but this is not how he acts normally. He tends to be a dork at times, loving to have fun with his fellow BAP members and the other trainees he's close to. He's a 20 year old guy, is any more explanation necessary? He loves to run around and play video games, especially ones about war, and go out to bars (legal drinking age is 19 in Korea) every now and then. He has a playful spirit that has often gotten him into little bits of trouble when his pranks on the fellow members or sometimes even seniors have gone a little too far. However, he's a hard worker that knows when it's time to get serious. During practices he trains hard, working earnestly and giving it his all.

One of Yongguk's most predominant traits is his loyalty. Once you befriend him, he's your ally, your cheering squad, your shoulder to cry on, and your best friend. He'll do practically anything for his friends and considers them his family. He even calls his fellow members his brothers. He will never betray a friend in any way, whether it be keeping a secret or covering for them after they snuck out of the dorm one night. And, with every right, he expects the same amount of loyalty back. And, of course, he gets it. But if you ever betray this boy, he will shun you to the point where you're groveling on the ground begging for his forgiveness out of guilt. So no one betrays him. This trait can also lead him to become easily jealous, though he'd never admit to it.  He's known to become incredibly jealous when Nina hangs out with Himchan, but he always tries to act cool and hide it.

THEIR STORY.

Nina and Yongguk's first meeting came while she was hospitalized after her anorexia. Yongguk was also in the hospital after falling a breaking an arm as a new trainee under TS Entertainment, and they happened to sit at the same table in the hospital's cafeteria one afternoon. They got to talking and learned that each were trainees under different companies. Nina at first refused to tell him why she was in the hospital, but as they talked more and more over the days his demeanor put her fears at rest. He was so easy for her to talk to, and so much just slipped out: her condition, her company, her goals to actually change things in the world one day. He was impressed and always listened to her intently. He also told about his company and, though far from perfect, it sounded like heaven to Nina. From that time on she secretly wished to be a trainee under TS alongside Yongguk.

After Miyoung convinced Nina to leave Nega Network, it seemed like the ideal time to work toward her dream of being under TS Entertainment. She auditioned and was accepted into the company. Again, she met Yongguk in the practicerooms and they picked up on their friendship right where they had left off. They talked, practiced, and had fun together a lot which made it easier to forget about her bad experiences in the past.

One of the things that attracted Nina to Yongguk was the fact that he can read her like an open book. When something is on her mind like a new idea that she's suppressing, he gives her a cold blank stare and says "let it out Nina". He can always tell when something is bugging her, no matter how greatly she tries to hide it. Of course, he's always there for her in all situations and they spend a great deal of time together making all the other trainees believe that they're dating. The two never deny these rumors nor do they affirm them. They both know that the other likes them, but they enjoy their relationship as it is. They don't believe that they'd ready to take the next step yet especially being trainees that have to work hard and maintain a somewhat formal attitude while at work around each ohter.
