I hate when people say things like "Self-harm is stupid" or "People who self-harm just want attention."

First of all,how can you say someone hurting themselves is stupid? You don't know what their life is like or what they're going through or have been through. And they're most likely going through a lot considering that they start purposely harming themselves. And just because you might have have gone through a lot too and didn't start hurting yourself doesn't make it stupid. Everyone can't deal with things the same way and everyone isn't always going to be as strong.

Second of all,if people who self-harm just want attention why do so many of people who do go through all of the trouble trying to hide it with bracelets,long sleeves,make up and etc? If they wanted attention don't you think they'd go around trying to show everyone what they did to themself instead of trying to hide it? I understand that some people may wear things where what they've done is noticeable,but that doesn't mean that they are trying to get attention.

Stop being so ing ignorant and judgemental.
