She was born in Seoul to GaYun and Saeho park, she got 2 younger sisters, when she was 2 years old they moved to Hawaii when she was known at school as Kimberly because her Korean name was hard pronounce she started to sing at 4 years old singing a  spice girls song in a school  talent contest, that she started to love it that her mom enrolled to stage school where she got up dancing like jazz, hip-hop and the hula,

When she turned 13 a girl in her class bulled her because of her talents having told the teacher and her family the girl was expelled from school and bored with her school life that she started to take singing more seriously taking singnin lessons everyday that she wanted to be a star one day.

Once she turned 16 she got a job a club singer and r to pay for her Private lessons when she one night she was scouted by SM asking her to audition she said yes and joined at 17.
