MTBD + CL Rant

Oh my god, I am so done with people right now. People have been telling CL to go die and to go to hell. Are you joking me right now? I don't care who the hell you are, you should NEVER tell someone to go die because what if they actually do? Then it will be partly your fault for telling them to go die and to burn in hell. I know CL is not going to listen to your bull since one, she is a lot more popular than you and has fans backing her up, and two, she has better things to do than to listen to your stupid . CL is the baddest ing female and seriously, people are being so immature. No wonder people hate K-pop and it's fans. Anyone who is telling CL that is just dumb as hell and needs to get the out of K-pop because you are just making us sane damn fans look bad.

The people telling her these things would probably be the ones going to hell honestly. CL is a human being and that's just damn disrespectful to say to someone. I added an article down below that I read and I just don't know what to say. Like, seriously. I am not even shocked anymore. K-pop fans are everywhere.

You DEFINITELY are as "RELIGIOUS" if you are telling someone to die or calling them a . The is wrong with you?
In American songs, there are A LOT of songs disrespecting religion. Does anyone tell the band to go die? There will always be THAT group of people but NO! YOU DON'T TELL SOMEONE TO GO DIE. That is just ing rude and not human!

Don’t take my word for it about the current backlash, though.

Just go to any CL video on YouTube or any picture on her Instagram and there’s a gigantic cluster of all caps yelling and screaming and threats.

So where does the logic stand?

Well if it’s true about the Quran verse in the song, and it does seem like it’s legit at the moment, then it’s rational to conclude that action should be taken in terms of changing the song. Will anything change? Probably not, because like with a lot of race issues, I doubt many in Korea make a big deal out of it. But look, if it is indeed a Quran verse, it should be edited out or modified in future releases, both because it’s morally insensitive and it’s not a great idea to purposely antagonize people/fans anyway. It’s a respect thing, and I can understand that.

With that said, demands for change is about where the outrage should end. Also, any backlash honestly needs to be directed to the person making the production decisions on the song (Teddy) and perhaps the company (YG Entertainment). The best way to go about getting done would be explaining the problem calmly and rationally, and along with the massive outpouring of requests they could generate, it could be effective. Fans have proven as much before that it’s the right way to go (just as it is in 99% of life situations).

So I get the side that has the complaint with the song. I do.

What I can’t understand under ANY circumstance is fans yet again thinking that: 1) sane people use death threats and yelling in all caps to solve problems 2) that doing any of the psychotic they are now will get people to want to change 3) the assumption that CL was absolutely complicit in this or had anything to do with that being added.

I honestly don’t get the specific death threats (“chop you up into pieces”, really?) and the reaction that consists of swearing her off forever. I generally empathize by putting myself into the situation of the other person, but even given the most insulting things I could think of, I couldn’t see myself being driven to such illogical rage.

Furthermore, the religious zealotry that comes attached with all this just makes it even less palatable to me and a bit more disturbing, especially when paired with dead serious death threats. Because while they’ll probably amount to nothing, people are also ing nuts, especially when it comes to religious beliefs, and religion is one excuse people use to do ty things (like bomb abortion clinics or beat gay people to death or countless other ty deeds that obviously Jesus or whoever would want).

So … that.

—–

What initially started as feelings of “goddamn that’s stupid/ignorant” towards CL/Teddy/YGE for being religiously insensitive and appropriating a culture … now I just feel sorry for them. Yes, it should absolutely be addressed and dealt with. No, they don’t deserve to be excused or shielded if all of this is true. But personally? Watching it unfold, I’m far more disgusted with the other side.

I can’t see a world where the current reaction to this error in judgment is at all productive or appropriate. This type of will never solve anything, from interpersonal arguments to international political issues, and I’m far more disturbed by the reaction than the action at this point.

Yikes.

I can get why they were offended IF CL did have parts of the Quran in her song, but I don't believe she'd do it to be offending of the religion of Islam or anything like that. I haven't listened to the song yet so I don't even know, but people sending her death threats need to STOP. And ranting/raving at her won't do any sort of good, they're just making the situation worse by doing that. They could ask YG to just cancel that part of the song out instead of making death threats to her geesh -__-

Hello friend, There are a lot of Muslims that have lost respect for CL, I get it people mad because it's their religion. I lOVE 2NE1, I freaking love their music, I love this song but it's a shame now. I've many Muslims friends whom are blackjacks and I know why they will be become disappointed with YG. There's a kid reciting Quran into 1:02, a lot of Muslim kpop fans got angry because of this, It’s disgusting when artists minimize a religion or parts of a religion by treating it as an accessory. The Quran isn’t there for CL or anyone to use to be ~hip~ or ~unique~. YG has a serious patternof problematic and offensive . This I get from tumblr :
Now, it’s time for me to tell you where did CL/Teddy use the Quran verse in CL’s song.
I need you to watch two videos.

The first video is a video of a boy reading the Quran with his beautiful voice. Please skip all the way to 3:27 and listen to the boy. Here’s the video: https://t.co/uPPOuiEnLo

The second video is CL’s song Mental Break Down. Ok so I want you to skip to 1:02 and listen to THE BACKGROUND “MUSIC” all the way to about 1:15. Here is CL’s song: https://t.co/oc1FxBQyDf

If you listen carefully you could hear the boy’s voice reading the Quran in the background of CL’s song. It sounds a lot like Bollywood music, but the more you listen to it the more you’ll hear the boy. You guys can see all from this http://ghetto-arab.tumblr.com/post/78869806571/cl-used-quran-in-her-new-song

Its not like they had the intention of actually putting it in the song. If they knew they would get this much hate then i doubt they would have done it. If they did purposely do it then I completely understand why people have kicked up such as fuss. However sending death threats is way too much. No one should be told to die whatever they have done. Wishing death upon a person makes them 10x worse.

& i can help but laugh at the person who wrote - "CL got to hill". That english<3 cute.

Ugh, to be honest I read quite a few rumours that the supposedly 'quran' verse is either some indian humming or something completely different. Funny thing is how the muslims who actually protect CL and say she didn't do wrong, (aka they say that it is NOT the Quran) are hated, too instead of their points being read and so on. The melodies themselves ARE similar but I for one didn't really hear words in the background of MTBD so yeah, just..humming.
(also, what I don't get is why did people start raging a week after it was out. If they ARE blackjacks (or well, were) then they would have listened to the songs as soon as possible AND would have noticed it.
no? Am I thinking too much?
sorry for the random comment, it just to see CL being bashed for something she probably doesn't even know about)
