Wa$$up Rant.

Wow, I haven't ranted in awhile. How I miss ranting.
Joke. No but seriously. I need to rant right now.
I've been feeling so crappy lately so ranting makes me happy.

Topic: Wa$$up

I have known about them since they released their twerking video. (Which Nada can do pretty damn well.) And because of that video, they have been getting a pretty good amount of hate. (I think it has died down a little, finally.) I find it ridiculous that people are hating on them.
Most of the people who hated or are hating on them probably haven't even given them a chance. Some people saw the twerking video and bashed them saying that they would never listen to them. You can't bash them if you haven't listened to them.

I, at first, didn't like them when I saw that video but I ended up giving in and gave them a try on Nom Nom Nom and holy crap. I love them now. They have the vocals, the looks and they aren't cutesy with their songs. Jinju is pretty as hell, Nada has the rapping skills of a goddess (in my opinion), Nari has beautiful hair and a gorgeous face, and so on. (Those three are my biases, cough.)

I still don't see why people are calling them names and stuff. Nada got bashed a lot because she kind of looks like Nicki Minaj in Nom Nom Nom. People said she got a "Fake tan." Um, what. Nada's a Blasian from what I have heard. Blasian means Black Asian if you didn't know. Black people have dark skin and Asian people tend to have tan skin. I don't see what the problem is here. Her skin color is probably real. Nada is NOT a Korean Nicki Minaj, she's Nada.

People don't know what k-pop is apparently. Saying that Wa$$up isn't K-Pop makes you look like an idiot. The song is in Korean and it's pop. Gee, I wonder what that makes the genre. Calling them "stupid girls" makes you look stupid. They aren't stupid and they have a hell lot more popularity than you do. I would love to see you outbeat them in the Korean charts. Oh wait, you probably can't.

They aren't s. A is a sleazy or unpleasant person. Sleazy means shabby, dirty, or vulgar. s are people who are usually around just for . You should really learn what you are talking about before saying .

A comment on YouTube said "This is ... Terrible. I'm sorry for saying this, I almost never post comments when I don't like a song but I just want to say something about this video. I saw the first MV of this group and my first thought was "wow, how can you call this 'music'". I don't want to sound nasty but I really didn't like it. And now I see this MV and one thing is evident : it's copy and paste from America. It's just Americanized. That blond girl with golden make-up is a perfect copy of Nicki Minaj... And in my opinion it's not positive. They are not talented for singing... Or maybe they are but they don't show it. I think this band will disappear in one or two years.
I'm sorry for the fans, I don't 'hate' the girls, but I dislike their 'music' and I think it's not representative of Korean music."

To which someone replied, "I'm just casually checking their song, but I just had to comment too. Seriously, do you really think that Kpop represents Korea's music? Just .. Really ..  It doesn't represent at all, unless you're saying that Kpop represents the Korean music that is exported. Kpop is made basically for teenagers at Korea and commercialized for foreign people, it comes from an appropriation of several elements (from other cultures too) that at the end come as a new one but it's still a small part of Korean music, we're talking about a country, the idol music doesn't represent all of the music genres in Korea, neither the most popular with the general public. I'm wondering,  if some group with cute actions and other clothes (or less Americanized) were singing this song everyone would be nice, it's not a problem with the song specifically, it's a problem with the representation of USA's culture, what you've said. But now, look, this representation is made all the time by some well known Kpop groups too and I''ll not mention their names, but their representation is more 'subtle' or their image is already solid and there's little bashing now. USA always had a lot of influence in Kpop, just look at the english phrases at the songs. Don't you realize that the first generation of korean idol groups came basically after the time that boybands and girlbands were the trend at the west? The biggest examples are Spice Girls and Back Street Boys. Pratically no one comment at this, but when this representation goes for other aspects of western culture, let's say, hip hop, people gets pissed off. That's because the representation of hip hop is much more noticeable and a big part of the american people that like Kpop generally are here because they don't like the "degrading" aspects of American music, specially Hip hop, nowadays. They feel that the American culture that they don't like is 'invading' their beloved Korean pop, but in reality Kpop as a whole is already FULL of western culture. Do you understand? At the end, it's a matter of hipocrisy. "

So yeah that's it. Good day, people.

I'm so with you. I've been a wa$$up fan since they made their debut and i can say they're very talented. Ok their first video wasn't the best (personally i don't like the video but the song is awesome for me) BUT i proudly can say they have lots of amazing dance skills, srsly

Their 'galaxy' song is just as good as nom nom nom, but always, stupid people just judge what they see for the first time, it's like the stupidest thing someone can do = =

It makes me laugh when some KPop fans say 'These girls are ruining the innocent image of KPop!!' LOL excuse me X'3 When has KPop ever been innocent? There are cute/happy songs yes, but not every group has that concept. I think after finally watching a bit of the MV, maybe they shouldn't have gone with this kind of concept at first but hey what's it hurting anyone having a y concept? And you're right when people compare Nada to Nicki Minaj, they are two different people what's their to compare? I think people are toning down their hatred somewhat but I still see a few hateful remarks here and there -__-
