CHANDARA | A fan and Another: A Narration

Chanyeol and Dara's story began right after an ending. Their life story began with a confession. Their story started with acceptance. A big word, with a greater understanding. Chanyeol wasn't the first, he wasn't one of the best, either, but he had adoration that was pure and honest. If you'd look at it, Park Chanyeol was just once a fan.

He was a fan, like you and I, who followed a certain goddess to where she would shine, up to his heart's desire, and Chanyeol had always been one to achieve his dreams as much as life would let him.

Getting closer to her was no small hill, as he trekked a mountainfold of challenges. There was so much people who loved Dara that made loving her a challenge. Because loving her, means accepting her family, and as a family, she was protected.

He was as innocent as his love. And she was as guarded as a princess -- but he broke the walls keeping him away, because he sent his heart out. He had done everything to win the hearts of the people surrounding her, because he knew that was the most proper thing to do. And he did, he did win everyone's heart. And the only heart left was Dara's.

It was a sunny day in Singapore when a new chapter in Chanyeol's life started.  It was a confession -- his confession that was halted by struggles both may never understand, but eventually, they did make sense. It was the matter of having the right love at the wrong time.

Because as much as Chanyeol craved for her heart, someone else had owned it. Someone Chanyeol had dubbed to be who he looked up to, someone who Chanyeol thinks he could never be at par with, someone who he couldn't beat because Chanyeol could never be G-Dragon.

He gave her a letter, all his heart poured out on it, and she sent him a message back.

"I can't." But he accepted it, because if the only thing she could offer him at that time was her friendship, he'd take it at any time, he would always accept it. Because he'd accept anything from her. Because he'd accept the most miniscule thing rather than having nothing to hold on to. Love makes you do those kind of deeds.

Months have passed, and since then, a friendship blossomed between Chanyeol and Dara. A friendship no one had expected since a fairly large had occupied their hearts, and knowing the split personalities both had, no one really thought it was plausible. She was like a flower that was scared of blossoming, while he was the sun that brightened up any day. He was the drum beat in every song you'd hear, and she was that small little cymbal who was too dainty to hear.

And maybe it was his persistence, or maybe it was her fondness of getting out of her comfort zone, whatever it was, it had made the melody happen, because both the drum and cymbal had produced an amazing beat -- because without the sun, a flower wouldn't bloom beautifully.

And the owner of the heart Chanyeol longed to keep had shattered the pieces he hoped to fix. She cried, and he saw how hurt she had become, hoping to be the bandage that sews the broken pieces together.

She doesn't realize that, eventually, the pain went away. That it wasn't as hurtful as the first time she got broken, not realizing that at that time, there was a different reason. Bacause he was there.

She may never realize how much a little thing would mean to him, but every effort he has done have been given justice, too.

He was there when Dara needed a friend -- he was the first one that she would call. And eventually, their friendship grew much deeper. Up to a time where it was not only the people that surrounded Chanyeol and Dara who noticed, there were the fans who had made groups in support to them.

Promotion after promotion happened, and it was as if every song had a premonition to both parties. Wolf, Falling in Love, Lucky, Growl and lastly, Do You Love Me.

A song that had a second meaning, a party that had hearts in a frenzy. A plan that had gone wrong, and two dances that were both unforgettable. And a second confession. It was Chanyeol's second confession retelling how jealous he was, and that he honestly liked her -- but a "forget I said anything" broke it. A bitter smile creeping on Dara's face. Should she feel relieved? Should she feel flattered? How could a guy confess and regret it? Was it because he just said it in jealousy?

Chanyeol is very 'obvious' with his feelings towards Dara and although he had confessed two unclear confessions, but a clear declaration. He loved her, but he couldn't tell her seriously because of the insecurities he had.

And Chanyeol suddenly comes up of a plan not to talk to Dara for a month (Mildang) to see how she would react, (or just because he was messing with her) but it takes a toll on her much more than how Chanyeol expected it to be.

Within the month of push and pull, Kris had taken time to spend with Dara because he is confused to what people are saying that he likes her, so he asked Dara to meet up with him, hoping that his feelings would get resolved by the meet up. And maybe there was always that little thing that pulled him to Dara, but he was just scared to admit, as he is holding on to this thick string of their KrisYeol friendship. Because he didn't want to hurt anyone.

And Chanyeol allows Kris to talk to her. Because who was he to stop them? He wasn't one to be selfish because he was in no position to -- but Chanyeol should realize he shouldn't be selfless too.

Dara's feelings remain to be unclear, and although she has a 'crush' on Kris, she has known Chanyeol first and she is closer to Chanyeol, making him a step higher in her heart. But would it always remain as that? Because as the saying goes, "The only thing constant in the world is change. Was Chanyeol on the uplerhand, was on the lower end?

Whatever may happen in the future would still be unclear (but clear for authornim lol) what matters first would be realizing feelings for each other, in any way possible -- KrisDara, ChanDara or KrisYeol at that -- and maybe everything would all make sense.
