personality — Despite the face that Lauren has, it's not how she is, it's just how her expression is when not smiling. Lauren is a positive, assuring kind of girl that believes in Karma and that good things will come to those who least expect it. She's also kindhearted, thinking of others before herself, majority of time, as it depends on the person. She's also intelligent, but never brags or belittle others, and just use her knowledge to help out others instead. She's easy-going and hates making a fuss and wasting time. Lauren's a bit troublesome, too, as she likes to do other things just so that she can relieve stress and not be so uptight. Those being her good and best traits, they also have a downside to it too. Lauren also expects too much and in the end, sometimes disappointing herself and hoping too much. She, the majority of the time, can't say no to helping others and so pile on a lot of work for herself. While being intelligent is good, she's a little too smart for her own good and others think that she looks down upon them when she tries to relay her knowledge upon them. Because she's too easy-going, this makes her too agreeable and people think she has no backbone. Also because she can be troublesome, it makes her seem mischievous at times, because she's just trying to have fun and let loose.
Lauren is also strong-willed yet stubborn, not wanting others to see her weak side and put up a front that she's always okay and fine, when sometimes she's not and just feels like screaming to no one in particular. In no way is Lauren a total girly girl or extreme tomboy, but in between. It's just she's able to fight and defend herself than the average girl, but doesn't have the upper body and strength that a male naturally has. Lauren also doesn't tolerate rudeness or being looked down upon either, as she deems it's not morally good and that Karma pays it back 100 folds to those that do it. Lauren's a klutz and is accidental prone... a surprise to a lot of people, especially her brothers. She's also very observant, but cautious as well, so she likes looking around her surrounding and others, wanting to familiarize herself with it. All in all, Lauren is just like any other kind of person who has their ups and downs, but hers is just experience through herself and no one else, and in the end of the day, Lauren is still Lauren, no matter what.
background — Lauren was born on March 11th of 1998 as the youngest and only girl of the Kim family. It was a bittersweet day when Lauren was born because out of the two babies the family was supposed to have, she was the only one to survive. She lived a normal life, much like any other little girl growing up in England. She loved school more than the average kid, but there was nothing wrong with that.
As she grew up, she fell in love with music and ice skating; every other day her dream job would change. One day she wanted to be a skater like her mother, and the next day she wanted to be a singer. Her parents began putting money into a bank account that couldn't be withdrawn from until Lauren's eighteenth birthday. It didn't matter what career choice she made, the money would be hers to use. Life went along as uneventful as could be. She began skating lessons at the age of 4 and became rather good at it by the age of 10. She had been in many competitions, and won a lot of them.
Lauren made all A's throughout school, except for in maths- she barely passed it every year. Just after Ai Lan turned twelve, she had finally made up her mind; she was going to become a olympic skater. She had her bags packed and everything, ready to move to Korea, where she could get better training. Once she moved to Korea, it hit her how hard it would be for her to actually make it in a new country. She practiced daily to get better. That is when she was scouted.
One day Lauren had just finished a competition, gold medal around her neck, she made her way over to her family. There she saw them talking to a man in a business suit. She had been spotted by an SM talent scout and they wanted her to begin training straight away. If she couldn't have one dream, she would have to put up with the other.

trainee history — Although her parents never out right said it, she figured they'd want her to try and be a doctor or a lawyer, maybe even be an Olympic medallist, like she had planned. Lauren realised she didn't want that, she probably didn't even fit the bill. She wanted to be noticed and recognized for her talent, music. Once Lauren set her mind on becoming a trainee for SME, she went for it and was accepted and chosen. Another deciding factor was her parents and Lauren wanting to provide for them. She'd heard stories about idols going off and buying businesses for their parents and Lauren wanted to do that. She wants her parents to have nice things and be able to provide for them, and she knew that becoming an important idol, she'd be able to do just that. For Lauren, things are going pretty well as far as singing and dancing. However, for some reason, she can't quite get a hold of rapping. However she is not dreadful at it, making her a triple threat. She wonders sometimes what her parents are doing without her and if the trainee life is actually worth being without her parents.
