Just a little rant on the American version of "Boys Before/Over Flowers"

...it's official. The American version of "Boys Over/Before Flowers" is TERRIBLE.

I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but I could barely get through the first fifteen minutes of the FIRST episode before I called it quits. At first, I was excited to see how America would put its spin on the drama, but with the terrible camera angles, the awful time lapses, the terrible acting, and the crappy job of trying to get the message across, I just couldn't sit through another second of it.

Who knows...the drama MIGHT get better over time...but I won't be around to notice it.

It is SERIOUSLY not doing the original dramas ANY justice...

But, remember, this is my own opinion.

I loved the korean one so much that it still makes me smile and get mad like it did the first time I watched it, and then I heard about the american version and I automatically figured it wasn't gonna be all that great. then I saw the cast an thought, 'oh no. this is gonna be bad....'

and from what I saw on your post and what I'm seeing in the comments, it turned out terribly.

And like what perfANDgorg said, it seems low budget. then again, who would wanna donate towards a series that has already been a manga/anime (i think, i don't know if it became an anime), korean drama, japanese drama, and taiwanese drama. I don't think anyone was really gonna expect too terribly much out of this one. then again, this is just my opinion too.

(sorry, needed to get that out to someone who actually understood)

Many people have told me that it's actually a pisstake. Whether it is or not, It is very terrible. I think they made a bad decision by trying to convert a drama from one culture to another.

There is an American version of this? WTH?
Why would they do that? It was perfectly fine the way it was (I even preferred the Japanese version over the Korean one)... I will investigate and be back to finish my comment...

BACK!
I stopped watched because I got confused about what was going on and why they cut some guy's wig (because it was obviously a wig); plus I just kept randomly skipping through and the music was bad.
America needs to stick with what we know and stop trying to re-do other things.

The only good thing about it was the racial diversity in the cast. Everything else was pretty bad, but everyone kind of expected it to fail anyway. (But I didn't like any of the BoF versions, so my expectations for the show were pretty terrible anyway.)

Same here...
In my opinion, just terrible.
At first I was like, "There is an American version?"
Then tried it, can't even get through 10 minutes.
The acting? Just horrible.
It's an insult to the other versions.
Sorry, my comment turns into a rant. Sorry.
Opinions.
