TRAITS — creative, collected, passionate, dreamer/schemer, hopeless romantic, impressionable
 PERSONALITY—
Soojin is assertive with good leadership qualities, but she doesn't quite have the social interest to lead a group of people. She's fine being with her small circle of friends, and she falls into a leadership position rather well when it's necessary, but it isn't a role she would consciously choose. She almost leads a double life: one of fantasy and one of reality. Even though sometimes the line in her mind between fantasy and reality may begin to blur, she's very good and hiding the strange parts of herself, her desires and her mind from other people and appearing very normal and collected.

Her personality took on a bit of a shift from the time she entered high school. At first she was very down to earth and casual, but after a little while (most likely prompted by Soojin's introduction to Lee Joon, her sister's boyfriend), Soojin started wearing girlier clothes and using makeup and withdrawing from her friends to hang out with other girls who were in a more "in" crowd, the kinds of girls who cared more about their appearances and had lots of gossip to spread and share amongst each other. She adopted a somewhat pretentiousness after this, but despite the shift, she never lost her passion for art.

BACKGROUND— Park Soojin grew up in her sister's shadow. Four years her senior, Sunmi was the embodiment of perfection to her younger sister--feminine, graceful, popular, and everything Soojin, all baggy shirts and skinned knees and tangled hair from chasing boys and climbing trees as a little girl, admired completely yet never hoped she could ever achieve. For the first ten years of her life, Soojin revered her sister. She loved her, and it was simple in Soojin's mind that she wanted to be her sister. So she borrowed her clothes to play dress up and sometimes asked Sunmi to do her hair and maybe even let her use a little lipgloss, and throughout their early childhood this was their favorite way to bond.

As they both grew older, and Sunmi started going to high school and she became too busy with her schedule and her friends to spend time with Soojin anymore, they started growing apart and Soojin's admiration and reverence slowly transformed into envy and resentment. She stopped trying to be feminine and graceful and popular like her sister, instead going back to wearing t-shirts and flannel and finding a small niche of friends she could be herself with. Instead of allowing herself to remain in Sunmi's shadow, she consciously pursued separate interests from her sister, which is how she started drawing, and after constant practice and a discovery of hidden talent, she became quite good at it. As she entered high school herself, she started enrolling in art classes, and her artistic style became more experimental and eclectic, as she loved mixing different media to create something different and never before seen. Her favorite thing to create is portraits, particularly of people in her life, like her friends or members of her family, or teachers and schoolmates.

Sunmi graduated before Soojin entered high school, and she's now in university. Their relationship as sisters isn't estranged, but it's distant, and Soojin still holds some resentment for her sister. (Sadly, she was always too absorbed in her own fixation with Sunmi to ever realize how much Sunmi admired her in turn, especially once she started blossoming into her own person and revealing how creative and talented she is.) Soojin was perfectly content to let them remain in their own separate spheres of life, but then one day Sunmi brought home her new boyfriend for dinner, and the effect nearly flipped a switch in Soojin's mind.

She didn't know how or why, but she wanted him. It started out as the smallest spark, but Sunmi brought him home more than once, and every time, Soojin's desire only grew, and her obsession with these thoughts and fantasies soon became the center of her consciousness. One way or another, she would have Lee Joon, and she was willing to do anything to get him.

Edit regarding parents: Her father was never in her life, and she doesn't even know who he is. It's not something she's dwelled on, but because of this, she holds herself to the standard of her mom and sister, two very strong and feminine women in Soojin's eyes. As for her mom, she's often too busy with work to be heavily involved in her children's lives, but she doesn't mind occasionally reminding them that they're the reason she works so much. She really does love them and wants them to live a comfortable life. She does however have the habit of comparing the two, and since Sunmi is the older sister and also more ladylike and well behaved, it's usually to the effect of telling Soojin she should be more like her sister, which had a great effect on her growing up and may be the biggest reason she feels she has to live up to such a standard, or in some psychologically twisted way, be Sunmi.

SECRETS — Like any teenage girl, Soojin had a lot of things she would prefer to hide. Kind of like a diary, any girl would want to keep her innermost thoughts and feelings to herself, because revealing them made her vulnerable to the cruelties of people's judgment and cynicism, and she had to protect herself. So she took measures to make sure she kept safe the things that no one would ever find out.

No one would ever find out about the times since she was twelve when she snuck into her sister's room when she wasn't home and tried on all her bras, stuffing them with balled up pantyhose so she could model them in the mirror. Sometimes when she was feeling daring, she would put on some of Sunmi's bright red lipstick as well and pretend to kiss the mirror like she was greeting a lover (never actually making contact for fear of having to explain the marks). Then after she left and put everything back in its place, she would run to the bathroom and spend twenty minutes frantically trying to wash off the makeup, but there would still be a raw redness around dinnertime, which she would have to explain was just chapped lips from the cold, and her mother would tell her to put on vaseline next time so they didn't get so chapped.

No one would ever find out about the secret drawer in her desk which she kept locked which held collected trinkets from over the years: a pair of gold studded earrings that, after a week or so, Sunmi stopped trying to look for after they went missing; a nearly spent tube of red lipstick swiped from her mom's collection years ago, which Soojin still occasionally uses when she's alone; several photographs, one being her sister's senior photo which Soojin had taken a needle to until the eyes and mouth were scratched white, the newest a stolen picture of Sunmi and Lee Joon which she marked up with red permanent marker, and the oldest an untainted  picture of her and her sister at a young age just after one of their makeovers; among several other things of that nature.

No one would ever find out about the stack of portraits she kept in a box on the top shelf of her closet, the subjects of which had narrowed from herself, her sister and her friends and family in various forms of idealization (positive or sinister, depending on her emotions) to a recent onslaught of just one person: Lee Joon. To her, he was ideal, and she couldn't resist sketching him over and over, trying to capture his attentive and captivating eyes, and growling in frustration every time she finished and still felt like the portrait was missing his essence, at which point she would realize with renewed desire that Lee Joon's actual presence had a spark that could never be captured by paper and graphite.

LOVE INTEREST — Lee Changsun (Lee Joon), 21, MBLAQ
 PERSONALITY —
Lee Joon is a laid back average college student who's really involved in creative arts. He's unassuming, nonjudgmental, and understanding almost to a fault, as it can make him seem like a pushover or he'll neglect to react to things that others would find offensive or alarming. He's sociable and can get along with people of all ages. Older people and adults are easily charmed or impressed by him, and younger kids like him because he treats them like they're older and not just kids but people. Overall, he's friendly with a positive outlook on life and he consistently sees the good in people over any of their faults.

HISTORY — At first, Soojin is, to Lee Joon, his girlfriend's little sister who is important to Sunmi. He heard a lot about Soojin before they first met, and so he was very open with her and willing to talk about her favorite things, specifically their mutual interest in art (he, like Soojin, loves depicting people the most, and his range of mediums varies from rough charcoal sketches to clay sculptures; however they differ in that he strives to achieve realism, whereas Soojin's works are more abstract and daring, which is a point of admiration for him). As he starts coming around more often, they're able to get along well and they can level with each other about things.
TRIVIA — It's probably important that Sunmi started dating him because he reminds her so much of Soojin, which could be subconscious or not. They're very similar, and even their styles are similar. However Soojin's idealized portraits depict him as someone far from the person he is, and more of this objectified, mysterious, unattainable marvel. It could be argued that psychologically, both sisters idolize him because they see him as something the other sister has.

OTHERS — Kim Jonghyun (Shinee); Nichkhun; EXO's Kris

REQUESTS — I've kind of set up the dominoes for a crazy plot between Soojin and Lee Joon, because if you hold an obsession over something long enough, you start to realize that fantasies and stolen hoodies that smell like him eventually aren't enough. Especially since he comes around often enough for him to start becoming attainable for her. I can see her starting to come onto him, maybe leaving notes with poetry or suggestive drawings (of him or of her or of both of them together) for him to find, which he initially brushes off as a schoolgirl crush and is pretty cool about it, because he still likes her, but as his girlfriend's younger sister. And later she'll become bolder and start slipping suggestive phrases into conversation, and she'll completely savor the feeling as she watches him fumble with his words as he tries to work out whether or not her meaning was intentional. Eventually she'll start cornering him, at first for just a few seconds so she can lean close and smell him as she whispers something in his ear, and later she might start to force herself onto him. Will she succeed in seducing him? Maybe. I'll leave that one up to you ultimately, but it would be far more scandalous if she did. OR this could have happened in the past already.
COMMENTS — I'm really looking forward to this story, whether you choose my character or not [:
