Name ; Jung Hyo (because according to some names website, Hyo means "familial duty")
Date of birth ; March 23rd, 2011 (22 years old)
Gender ; male
Height ; 6' even

Personality ; Ever since he lost his parents, Hyo took the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. He became hardened and serious, mature beyond his years, and concerned entirely with protecting those weaker than him (most people he meets he feels need his protection). His seven-years-younger sister, Lyn, is the sole purpose for his existence now, and because of his need to protect her and not lose her, he's incredibly strict on her to the point where she hardly has any freedom at all. This inevitably puts a serious strain on their relationship, but he hardens himself to it because to him, everything he does is meant to protect her, even if she may not understand that. As they run into other survivors and build their group, he assumes the position of leader because it's just naturally what he's meant for, and with that position he takes on responsibility for protecting everyone. It's stressful and lonesome, and he tends to try to keep himself emotionally distant for fear of opening himself up to weakness or even worse, opening himself up to the pain of loss should he fail to protect someone he grew attached to. However, he still has a good heart, and there is room for him to open up to someone should another member of their group of survivors be bold enough to try to get through his walls.

Hyo would have the best working relationship with someone who is even-tempered, level-headed and intelligent, much like him. Someone mature with whom he could make plans, and someone whom he could trust to take on some of the responsibilities of a leader, like looking out for people. He would also want someone good in combat or a good shot, so he knows someone would have his back should he be in a tight spot. Whoever has this personality would most likely be his partner whenever they go out, and it would most likely be male. This person would be his second-in-command. (Most likely The Shotgun)

There could also be another group member that he has a bit of a soft spot for, someone with a really open personality and good-humored. They would be outgoing and bold enough to be that person who chips away at Hyo's emotional walls just by talking and smiling and managing to get close to him. He would consider them a close friend, or maybe even almost sibling level, and someone he would want to protect. Besides Lyn, this would be the character he would be most devastated to lose. (I like the idea of 9mm Pistol for this, should you use the idea, because of the mischievous implications that that character "Likes trouble".)

Ulzzang ; Park Ji Ho
Yeah, I like his long-haired look

Life before the Infection ;
Hyo was only a toddler when the infection began, so he has no memory of how life was before. The memories he does have, however, are of his parents trying so hard to protect him; when he was about six or seven years old and his dad showed him the emergency pistol he kept hidden in the house and when and how to use it; when he was nine or ten, and his parents told him he had to take care of his sister, and at this point he was already familiar with small firearms and he would keep a gun on his person whenever his parents weren't with him. His childhood couldn't be considered "normal" by our standards, but it was for the first couple years of his life.

Family
Hyo was extremely close to his parents, and they died when he was sixteen and Lyn was just barely nine. It was something he had tried to prepare himself for mentally for years leading up to it, but it was still extremely devastating. His response to it, however unhealthy, was to swallow his tears and grit his teeth and move on as quickly as possible, focusing all of his attention on protecting his sister because that was the duty his parents had instilled in him. Lyn is his reason for living, and as long as he's protecting her then he has something to focus all of his energy on, so he focuses on survival and protection rather than allowing himself to dwell on the past. He's protective of her to the point of overbearing and overly strict to the point where it seems to her like he's just trying to control her life, but he only sees it as his mission to keep her safe, and that continues to be a problem for their relationship.

Likes ; (5+)
When he was younger, before his parents died and he had become cynical and jaded, he used to like reading super hero comics because they gave him hope for being rescued and they set up an ideal for him to strive to be. He used to dream for a super hero who might save the world from the darkness it was in. When he was older and realized that you can't rely on super heroes, he told himself that he would be as much of a hero as he could, and he thought it was possible to be strong enough to protect everyone and not die. But after his parents died, this illusion was completely shattered for him and he realized the best he could do was focus all of his efforts on survival, so he more or less stopped reading the comics and stopped fantasizing about this ideal because he just no longer had time for it due to his responsibilities.

He really likes new things. If he raids an abandoned store or a hide out or something, he'll pick up what he wants, and he gets excited about a new jacket or pair of shoes or weapon if it's nicer than what he has.

He likes fire, which is kind of strange, but he's highly practical. Fire cooks food, it keeps you warm, it's a weapon especially against the infected, and it's a source of light in the darkness. He feels safe when their team of survivors can settle down and gather around the fire, because he can see all of them and know they're safe and they can all keep an eye out for each other while they relax a little. And people have good conversations around a fire. He actually likes hearing the stories they tell. It keeps his mind off their troubles for a little while, and it's something real, unlike the comic books he used to read and get lost in.

Sleep. He doesn't get much of it, and he never gets to chance to sleep very deeply, but sleep is definitely something he yearns for and misses. However, he doesn't like dreams. They disturb him and upset his reality, and they just seem to him like something that doesn't fit into his stark, calculating reality. A deep sleep without dreaming would be the most wonderful thing to come by if he could.

Dawn. The daylight means he's survived through the night, and each new days brings relief to him and hope for the coming day.

Dislikes ; (4+)

Because he's so fixated on just protecting people and surviving, he dislikes anything that he feels he just doesn't have time for. World history, other survivors who try to steal from them rather than join them, even dreaming. He also highly dislikes fighting and obviously the lifestyle they've been forced to live, but fighting is an unfortunate necessity. Also, in contrast with his affinity for daylight, his least favorite time of day is dusk, because night is fast approaching and he hates feeling unprepared. The anticipation of night is terrifying.
Trivia ; (4+)
Although horribly cliche, his favorite super hero as a kid was Superman, because Superman was invincible and could protect literally everyone on the planet.

His taste in food is extremely plain and basic. He's not a terrible cook, but he'll only cook for practical purposes, so he doesn't care at all if his meat is "medium-rare" or if his food has any seasoning. He's more likely to overcook something just to make sure it's done and safe to eat.

He has plenty of scars, but nothing horribly notable, and he doesn't care to talk about them. He does remember where each one came from, however.

He remembers almost everything, even if he doesn't want to. Particularly sad or frightening memories will plague him if he has time for his mind to wander, so he tends to keep himself busy and awake and focus on his responsibilities so he doesn't have to think about them.

Habits ; (4+)

Hyo stretches himself completely thin. He doesn't sleep much for fear of what happens when he does, and because he feels he's the one responsible for everyone, so he has to stay awake and keep guard. He'll go extremely long stretches of time on hardly any sleep, and he's been doing this for so long that he's just extremely tired, exhausted to his bones. But he keeps pushing forward and he doesn't let it show how tired he is, because being tired is just part of his existence.

At the end of the day, he'll sit by the fire or on guard or something and clean his weapons. He takes meticulous care of his rifle because it has to last him forever, so he'll make sure it's in immaculate shape and functioning properly.

He eats like he's on the run. After making food, he'll eat it incredibly quickly so he can get his guard back up. Eating is just another vulnerable state, really.

He grinds his teeth almost constantly. He's tense all the time, so that's what he does.

Fears ; (1+)

His greatest and most obvious fear is not being able to protect those around him, especially Lyn. The tragic part of this fear is that truly he's afraid that he won't be able to protect everyone. If one person is lost, he blames himself entirely. More "irrational" fears would be fear of the dark/nighttime, and although he really wants to sleep, he is afraid to do so because not only is he wary of how vulnerable he is when he's asleep, but he's afraid of the dreams he'll have when he sleeps.

Persona, Weapon
The Hunting Rifle | The Assault Rifle | The Revolver | The 9mm Pistol | The Pipe | The Hatchet | The Baseball Bat

2nd Weapon ; (Optional)
If anything, he would keep a knife on his person in case of emergencies, like a swiss army knife or something. But he's very resourceful and would be able to find anything to use as a weapon if he could.
Hand-To-Hand Combat ; (1/8)
7 probably. He's very strong, but he still has his weaknesses and he's better with a rifle.
Running ; (1/8)

6-7
Jumping ; (1/8)

Partner ;
The Shotgun; male

Their age is similar, as is their skill levels in combat and intelligence. Hyo considers him his second-in-command, and they have a great working relationship. Because the Shotgun is such a good shot, Hyo feels that he'll always have his back when they're fighting, and he trusts him with protecting the group as well (however, he would still be the only one he would trust to protect Lyn. Hyo would never forgive himself if anything ever happened to her). They're fairly open with each other in the sense that they strategize together and discuss their concerns about the group and members, and they trust each other with their thoughts and convictions and worries. The Shotgun is probably the only character Hyo feels like he can relax a little bit around, because he doesn't feel so much like he has to protect him. He knows the Shotgun is just as competent and able to survive and have his back.

Your Love Interest ; (Bold your choice)
From Your Team | From The Other Team

Love Interest ;
It would be a female leader of the other team. The interest would be sparked because this would be the first female Hyo has met who
is in the same sort of leadership position he is in himself, and she would be incredibly strong and able. He would respect her and at first
he might try to protect her, but she would make it very clear that she doesn't need or want his protection, she's not helpless, and that
would spark his interest in her, and he would continue to try to talk to her as much as possible and act as sort of co-leaders of their
respective groups.

Death ;
Death would be a welcome relief for him, actually haha. He would be willing to sacrifice himself to protect someone he cared about.
The main reason he has any sort of self-preservation is because he has to stay alive to protect Lyn. If he were ever to feel like she was
safe and didn't need him as much anymore, that would be the weakening state that led to his death. He's just so tired and any amount
of relief would make him allow that exhaustion to catch up to him.

Scene Suggestion ;

Something with The Shotgun in combat, or anything with them talking with each other as sort of co-leaders discussing the dynamics of
the entire group. (Like, can the Hatchet be trusted? Where should we move? Should we split up? Leader stuff.)

Complete devastation at the death of a fellow team member, whomever it may be. He would definitely blame himself. If it wasn't his
fault, he would find a way to blame himself. The Shotgun would probably have to snap him out of it. Be like "There's nothing you could
do, you've done everything. You take on too much responsibility as it is, stahp." ... or something.

Female leader love interest from the other team would spark some flirtations from them, but they would be extremely subtle. Yet
noticeable, since it would still be very different from how he normally acts. When she tells him off for being chivalrous or whatever,
insists that she's no damsel in distress and then walks away from him all sassy, he'll probably grin like an idiot. And then follow her I
guess.
