Authors with Attitudes
I've read plenty of fanfictions on this website where authors are sweethearts or greatly mannered when replying or writing an author's notes but recently, I've come across some slightly rude authors and the way they put what they feel into words. Since when has it been nice to put, "if you don't get it, don't read my story"? That's rude and makes me, as a reader and an author, not want to read your story or support you.
There has also been plenty of cases where authors do not appreciate their subscribers or graphic designers as much as they should. If people are commenting, be happy and if you want more input, ask questions in your author's notes. Or if someone doesn't understand, that's probably your job as an author to reflect on your writing technique and figure out how you can get the point across better. I don't know, it just kind of grinds my gears.
Also, when a graphic designer has taken the time out to make you a graphic, you should learn to accept it and find the beauty in it. If it doesn't suit your taste, then go to a website like pixlr.com or gimp and figure out how to make your own. A graphic designer is not you, they won't have the entirely same vision as you unless you describe it well enough or you draft them out an example. Don't sound like a spoiled brat, okay?
I also have a strong personality, especially if you know me from twitter but I'll never on purpose (or ever) type or rudely talk down to the people who have and will hopefully support me in the future.
Well, that's my two cents that no one rung me up for.
xx
