Personal information

Personality: Jiryong is one of those people that just naturally attract attention. He's flamboyant and sassy, but is welcoming to people and makes friends easily. He's extremely emotional: piss him off and you'd best run for your life; make him happy, you'd better be prepared for an onslaught of huggles; make him sad, and you better have a ton of tissues on you before he cries the Han River. He hates being told what to do, but doesn't like being the leader for other people. He's afraid of messing up and is a perfectionist about almost everything. He also hates being blamed for something he didn't do, or getting into a misunderstanding that may lead to punishment or embarrassment; if he's blamed, he'll probably end up crying in frustration, and when embarrassed, he hyperventilates and can sometimes turn purple. 

Around close friends, he's all huggly and snuggly and loud and joyful and teasing. He tries his best not to get the others mad, but sometimes he can't help it. He's usually the one you can hear telling jokes, anecdotes, or suggesting what to do. If he's mad at a friend, he won't say it outright, for fear of losing them. He hates crying in front of people, because he has done it so much it's become extremely shameful. When he's mad, like, fuming mad, he'll yell, cry, and have the urge to hit and throw things. Sometimes he'll act on the urge, other times he'll just smile harshly and "ignore" whatever is making him angry (while silently plotting their doom).

With people he's unfamiliar with, he'll try to impress them by bringing out his confidence and turning up the friendliness. Especially with people he needs to impress, he'll act more obediant and good, although rather awkward. He doesn't know what to do if he's not being loud or sassy. He also overthinks things, like big desicions. When he applied for his college, he had spent many sleepless nights deciding which ones he might be able to get into, and when he was accepted, he cried in joy. He still doesn't have much courage to do things like confess to his love, mainly because he's afraid of rejection. 

Biography: Jiryong was born in Hong Kong, China, to two very stressed parents. They had planned to move to Ansan before he could be born, so he could be a South Korean citizen; however, they had not acquired the needed papers in time to move before his mother's due date. Thus, he was born and raised for seven years in Hong Kong, along with his ten year old brother. Finally, when he was seven, they managed to move to Ansan, South Korea, and got citizenships. Both he and his brother struggled in South Korea, due to the language barrier, but thanks to Ansan having other Asian foreigners, they were able to get along with their neighbors and learn more Korean.

 When he was ten, his younger fraternal brothers were born, and he was no longer the spoiled baby of the family. Of course, he was mostly fine with that...but he had to take care of them. And, on top of that, school was getting progressively harder. Stressed, Jiryong didn't really interact with his family, and instead immersed himself in studying, his friends, and baking. When he had time, he baked to relieve stress, mostly because he missed Chinese style pastries. Finally, through much work and effort, he graduated highschool with a ranking of 18th in the entire graduating class. He immediately enrolled in a culinary college and had the time of his life. He graduated this year and applied for a job as a dessert chef.

- He came out to his parents at 20, and they've come to accept it through time. Though that doesn't mean they don't sometimes try to set him up...

- Trying to mix some Chinese style into another type of baking (Korean style, French, etc)

- Reading the Harry Potter books (he's read them all about six times) or other fantasy books

- Drawing/painting: He's not super gifted, but he loves to make things.

- Gardening (he grows whatever fruits/veggies he can in his apartment)

Original ambition: Being raised, he had always been told to be a doctor, or lawyer (cliché, he knows), but he had always had his eyes set on something creative, like being an artist, author, or, later on, a chef. He was leaning more towards an artist/author until he got into highschool. 

Where did you gain the experience?: His mom taught him some Chinese recipes at home, and he graduated from a culinary school. 

How much experience do you have?: 4 years of culinary college, about 3 years of cooking at home

Experience in the kitchen, if any: Very experienced with baking and knowing how much sugar/sweetness should be added to things. Best with sweet foods, mainly because he doesn't like sourish desserts. Also good at decorating pastries.

Reason for taking the job?: It was hiring, it was close to his apartment, and he wanted to test out his four years of college skills.

Ahn Daniel | 21 | Music major college student | He's kind of like Jiryong, except more aggressive and less crybaby. He calls Jiryong "Crybaby-hyung" often, and in return, Jiryong will call him "Fishlips". He shows affection by teasing people. They met during highschool, and currently live together in an apartment with Henry.

Bang Minsoo | 23 | Tattoo artist | He's mellow and calm, and usually allows people do what they want. He especiallt spoils his boyfriend (Niel) and is fiercely protective of anyone he cares for. However, he does have a slight love of starting fights (not like serious, mostly martial arts sparring), mostly just for the fun of it. 

Henry Lau | 23 | Dance instructor at international college | He's friendly, kind, and understanding...but once you start up one of his dance classes, you'll grow to resent his chubby cheeked smile as he tells you to push yourself harder, that you can and will do the splits by the end of the hour. He, Daniel, and Jiryong were best friends in highschool. 

Kim Heechul | 25 | Fashion designer | He's sassy, sarcastic, and blunt. He's not afraid to offend and, honey, that cardigan looks hideous against your skintone. Somehow, he and Jiryong get along pretty well (even if they argue a lot...) ever since Henry's cousin, Hangeng, introduced the two. 

Hangeng | 26 | Chinese dance instructor at international college | He may look like an unsuspecting Chinese man, but believe me, he's not. He won't listen to anything anyone says...unless it's Heechul. He's stubborn and sarcastic, and knows his way around Korea. 

Lover: 

Lee Sungjong | 20 | Visual arts major | Sungjong is stubborn and confident, even if he appears to be a weak pushover. He's not afraid to speak his mind and criticize. However, he is generally nice and friendly...but he will not stand for it if you think he'll just obey like a slave. 

How you met: Sungjong met Jiryong at Niel's boyfriend's family party. Sungjong, being Minsoo's cousin, was eager to meet Niel for the first time. He thought Jiryong was Niel and they started arguing (even if they hadn't even been properly introduced...) finally, Minsoo and Niel came and sorted things out. Jiryong found Sungjong to be adorable in looks, but not cute in personality. Sungjong thinks the same of Jiryong. Their personalities are strikingly similar, and that is why they thought this way.

Status in the fic: They are currently friends that argue a lot (y'know the type), but Jiryong kind of has a crush on him, even if he's not his usual type. 

Interaction with each other currently: They argue like an old married couple...with some punches and slaps thrown into the mix (not super harshly!) there's a lot of teasing, as well, and they both love to go on roller coasters together....

Problems?: Sungjong is biual with a preference for girls. He actually has a crush on a fellow classmate of his, Hwayoung. Jiryong is extremely jealous and sometimes messes up his cakes and whatnot being jealous. 

Back Up Lover:

Jo Kwangmin | 21 | Aspiring Model | Kwangmin seems to be the silent, shy guys...but he's not. Instead, he's bubbly, optimistic, and energetic. He's clingy and loves skinship, but can be a little too cutesy and touchy for his own good.

How you met: Kwangmin and his brother, Youngmin, were going to pick up their younger brother, Hyunmin, from culinary school. Jiryong saw the two of them and could tell them apart quite well, having young sibling twins. They talked for a while and Jiryong said that he was tutoring Hyunmin on his cooking ability. He praised Hyunmin and said he recognized the two from a few magazines. Jiryong had secretly been admiring the Jo twins and had all their magazine pages at home, but as he talked to Kwangmin he realized he definitely liked the younger twin better. Kwangmin thought Jiryong was pretty nice...but short.

Status in the fic: They're pretty good friends, and Jiryong was able to get the two to help advertise his workplace.

Interaction with each other currently: They act very friendly and cuddly with each other, tease each other, and go to amusement parks. They act like a couple when they hang out, except they're not dating.

Problems?: Because of Kwangmin's dream of being a model, he cannot date anyong without it creating some scandals...especially a guy.
