T H E L A S T O F U S ☠ Park Chanryu ☠ The Hunting Rifle

T H E  L A S T  O F  U S

Username ; -heibai

Name ; Park Chanryu
Date of birth ; August 03 2008
Gender ; Male
Height ; 180 cm

Personality ;
Chanryu is independent, analytical, and determined. He's the mastermind, long range thinker, extremelly intellegent, someone who will always think 5 steps ahead of other people. He looks into every plans, every tactics, every possibilities that could possibly happen. If plan A didn't work, rest assured there would always be plan B, plan C, plan D, E, F, G, etc.
He's a natural born leader. With his charm and public speaking talent, it takes little to make others look up to him. He's someone that never mixes his feeling to the decisions that he takes. He doesn't regard other people's emotion or even his own emotion when he's making plans or decisions, which often will result in people to see him as a cold and ruthless leader. But he did that because he needs to ensure his group would get the best outcome and be successful in their plans, rather than to make everyone happy. But as a person, he's very modest, emotionally sensitive, and down to earth. He regards memories and tradition highly.
In a situation where others fail to know what to do, he will never fail to rise up with a plan. He acts well under pressure, even better than in normal situation. He is also very methodical and an extreme task-oriented person. A, B, C, D. If he said to do that in that order, DO THAT IN THAT ORDER.
He's not someone that will give his trust easily to random stranger. He regards group safety much more than mercy, so when your group stumbles across an injured survivor, don't expect him to lend a helping hand, moreover to accept the survivor into the group. But once you showed that you're competent, it won't be hard to gain his trust. And once you have that, he would always have your back. Always.
Most of the time, he looks very composed and stoic. As in his nature he's an introvert, he enjoys some quiet, alone, time where he'll take a walk in the woods. But in rare times, very, very rare times, in the rare moments when he's out of ideas, or he knew something wrong is going to happen (or something wrong is happening), he would loose his temper very quickly. Don't be around him when that happen. Because by then, he would've burried his composed self so deep that his raw, almost brutal, instinct would take control.

Life before the Infection ;
He was born a few years before the infection spread (I'm assuming that the outbreak began in 2012-ish), he was 4, if he remembered it correctly. He couldn't remember anything aside from the faint shouts, faint gunshots, being in a speeding car, his mother's voice telling him that 'It's all going to be fine. We're all going to be fine. You are going to be fine.' Over, and over, and over again.
... That's all that he remembered.

Family
Father | Park Myung Han | Unknown
Mother | Park Ha Yeon | Unknown
Sister | Park ______ / Lyn | Alive (I don't know if you want a long name >< Maybe ChanRin? ChaeRin? Agh I don't know... I'll let you make up you own :P)

Chanryu and Lyn were really close to their parents. They always make sure that their children are not starving, that they have warm clothes and enough water to drink, even if that meant they have to give up their food and drink ration to them. Chanryu and Lyn knew about the sacrifices that their parents make, but at that time they didn't know what they could do to help improve their living conditions.

Their parents shield them from the conditions that were happening outside the camp. They didn't teach them combat or how to shoot or anything, really. It was because their parents wanted them to grow up like a normal kids would. Without them having to feel the fear of the reality. Chanryu, going through a phase of rebelling, starting from the age of 13, often sneaked off and joined a 'self-taught' classes on combats and gun shooting.

Lyn was born in the refugee camp. It was an accidental pregnancy, completely unplanned. Because at that time, it's just common sense that pregnant women and babies are more at risk if any breaching or in-site outbreak happen. But Ha Yeon (mom) decided to go on with the pregnancy, dispite Chanryu's protests. Well, he had to take back his earlier hate when she was born. An older brother! He was so excited by that. It didn't take long for him to pledge himself as the protector of the little princess.

All hell break loose when after 10 years of relatively 'peaceful' living (well, if living under constant opression can be categorized as peaceful), there was a major breaching in the refugee area. They were living at the biggest refugee building at that time. So, it was just a mater of hours before pure chaos erupted. The family rushed to the nearest evacuation area (because they thought moving would be better than if they were to wait inside their room), but amongst all the panic and the huge amount of people, Chanryu and Lyn were separated from their parents. They were pushed back, pushed back, further, further, until somehow they were pinned against a brick wall. Looking down, he noticed a small crack on the wall, and crawled through that to escape from being stampeded to death. The chaos were mainly cause by the poor emergency exits (or the lack thereof).
He knew that they had to go as far away from the refugee area. There were too much noise emitting from that place, the infected would gather around there within minutes. He knew about the infected, he were old and educated enough to know what they looked like, what should he do to avoid being spotted by one, but Lyn didn't. So, it was one heck of a traumatizing week for her, that's for sure. He was 17 at that time of the breaching, and Lyn was 7.

He cared about Lyn, he really wanted to protect her, but he knows that he can't be there beside her forever. So, unlike their parents, he didn't shield her from the truth. He started teaching Lyn all the basic survival skills, so that at least she could survive for a period of time without him being there for her. He also gave freedom for Lyn, to wonder around for a bit (after he scoured the place, quadruple checked it, and secured it completely, of course), because he knew, if he holds her back and completely shield her like their parents did, there's a possibility that at one point she would rebel, like he did. So, even though it's hard for him to do so, he tries his best to not make her feel like she's imprisoned.

He found an abandoned house in the outskirt of the area that he deemed to be safe enough for them to live in temporarily. Since then, their survivor group began to expand. (aaand the story start)
He knew that his parents couldn't possibly survive the breaching of their residence building, as they rarely ever meet any single survivor from that event. But there's still a tiny little part of him that's still wanting to believe that they're still alive, and that they're still looking for him and Lyn. That's why he would sometimes go on a solo 'scouting trips'. "Just because," he would tell the others, "I work better alone". But they all knew what's he really up to, and they don't really have the heart to tell him no. A little hope in that kind of situation is better than nothing, right? After all his trips, he would just quietly go back to his room/lodging/tent, and lock himself in for the rest of the night.

Persona, Weapon
The Hunting Rifle | The Assault Rifle | The Revolver | The 9mm Pistol | The Pipe | The Hatchet | The Baseball Bat

2nd Weapon ; Crowbar
Hand-To-Hand Combat ; 8
Running ; 5

Jumping ; 6
Partner ; The assault rifle.
They are a skilled runner in the team, and Chanryu's not really good at running. They're the best shooter, and Chanryu's aim was not as good as they were before. On the other hand, they aren't really good at hand-to-hand combat or jumping, and Chanryu's quite good at that. So, they can use their weaknesses and strengths to create a perfect team. (The reason why I don't choose the bow and arrow/Lyn is because Chanryu knows that he will become significantly less focused with the mission, as he has this automatic obligation to keep his sister's safety above anything else.)

Your Love Interest
From Your TeamFrom The Other Team

Love Interest ; The assault rifle -or- the revolver -or- the pipe

Chanryu honestly doesn't have the time for any romantic thoughts to seep into his mind as he's too busy thinking ways to keep everyone safe. But she's just always been there. Like, always there. He just naturally, automatically knew that she will always be in places that she needs to be without him telling her so. They just clicked. After so many times going on scouting missions together, they knew what the others will do without even looking. They just trust each other that deeply.
(Their relationship is just like the quote from the Fault in Our Stars: " -slowly, then all at once." Maybe at first he doesn't realize that he loves her in a romantic way. But something will happen that makes him finally, finally realize that he does love her.)

Death ; Yess, I don't mind. Kill him, it's okay. Just make sure it's an extremely tear jerking moment.

Scene Suggestion ;

A look inside his solo scouting. It can act as a character development chapter for him. Explaining what goes behind his weird habits (picking up coke caps because he found out that he was a great marksman when he were playing around with his friends in the refugee camp, flinging coke caps with their fingers). Some flashbacks of memories of his parents, maybe a mini birthday party with saltine crackers stacked up as his birthday 'cake'.
