Personality: One word to describe Zoey? Loud. This is the girl who laughs the loudest and loves to have fun. Zoey's laugh is very contagious. She has the ability to lighten up any tense situation or arguments. Zoey is a social butterfly and loves to make new friends. Whenever her friends are upset, Zoey will immediately jump to the rescue. Zoey also can be fiercely protective of her friends and isn't afraid to hurt whoever harms her friends, both physically and verbally. She may not be the best person to ask for advice, but she's an excellent listener and will lend her shoulder for a cry. There is a twist in her bright personality however. Zoey tends to be blunt and works faster than her mind, speaking without thinking. She's not trying to be mean, it's just in her nature to be blunt. Zoey also has a sassy and sarcastic mouth, so don't try to sass her or she'll say something extremely witty and it'll make you look stupid. She loves arguing with people just to avoid getting in trouble. When angered, Zoey swears at and stomps on the feet of the people who made her angry, whether it's a member from her group, her manager, or even a sunbae. If there are things in the room with her, she might throw it at you. Still, after two or three hours she'll calm down and is seemingly forgetful about the blowup. Zoey normally forgives you quickly, but she'll still hold grudges depending on how serious the situation is. She is free spirited and stubborn as well, if she doesn't get her way she refuses to budge until you give in.

Zoey may seem strong and cheerful on the exterior, but inside hides an insecure girl afraid of failure. When she was a trainee, many of the girls told Zoey she'll never make it as an idol. Zoey pushes herself to the limit to prove them wrong, but at the same time she's terrified of proving them right. When her progress does not meet her expectations, Zoey becomes short-tempered and sometimes pushes people aside, mumbling 'get out of my way.' She locks herself in her room and listen to depressing songs while sitting down with her hands on her head. Zoey always refuses to cry, because she believes that it would show her weak side, and Zoey never shows her weak side. She cannot handle criticism well, and although she gracefully accepts the criticism, something inside her shatters. She tends to scold herself for being the way she is and forces herself to work harder until she is deemed perfect.

Background: Zoey was born on October 14th, 1994, to a fairly wealthy family. Ballet runs in her family, with her mother grandmother, and aunt being formal dancers. Her father Kyungho was an engineer, born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. Her mother Claire is an American-born French, who was a formal dancer at the San Francisco Ballet. The two met when Claire traveled to Korea for a vacation, and married after two years of dating. After Zoey's birth, they moved to California where Claire immediately returned to dancing and Kyungho had no time to take care of his daughter. Zoey was mainly raised by her aunt Elizabeth, and was often brought to her mother's performances. Despite being the only child, Zoey was barely pampered and fussed over by her parents. It was mostly Elizabeth who gave her nurture. When Zoey was four, Claire decided to enroll her into ballet to continue the tradition. Zoey inherited her mother's love for dance and showed natural talent in it.

Five years later, tragedy struck the Kang family. While performing Swan Lake, Claire seriously injured her right knee, thus ending her career as a ballerina. A few months later, Kyungho was hit by a drunk driver on the way home from work. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. After Kyungho's death, Claire decided to move the family to Los Angeles. To support themselves Claire and Elizabeth opened their own dance studio and started teaching.

Zoey's love for music began at 11 when she saw a man on the streets of Los Angeles performing. She pestered Claire into letting her take singing and guitar classes. At the age of 13 Zoey switched from ballet to hip hop after watching a video of the dance crew Beat Freaks, much to her mother's dismay. Once she entered high school, Zoey joined the school's hip hop club and she learnt locking, popping, and breaking from the members. Zoey was also active in the dance team and choir.

In January 2009, Zoey was at a dance competition when she was approached by a man, who introduced himself as a SM scout. He told her she had brilliant stage presence and a true talent in dance. Zoey thought it was a scam, but he gave her an SM card and managed to convince her to try out the Global Audition held in LA. Claire was very disappointed, though nevertheless she and Elizabeth pushed Zoey to audition. To her surprise, Zoey passed the audition on the first round. She began her training at SM, but was transferred to Starship two years later. At Starship, Zoey was given an opportunity to try out rapping, and though she is not the best, she proved skilled at it.

Personality: Ilhoon is the only bloodtype B among s. He is the 'spark type,' meaning he's very lively and can be pretty unpredicatable at times. Once he steps on stage, he transforms into this fierce, charismatic rapper. Ilhoon is very dedicated in his work, and gets angry with himself when his progress doesn't meet his expectations. He's always trying to create his own rapping style. When Ilhoon is in a bad mood, he'll often change his hair into interesting, weird hairstyles.  He is a child at heart, he always asks s to get him toys and whatnot. Ilhoon is quite talkative, whether it be around his friends or strangers. He can be a bit of a sassy brat if he wants to.

Ilhoon is quite gentle yet teasing towards Zoey. Though he strongly despises skinship, he loves to hug and kiss Zoey. He tends to be more mature around her, but Zoey has told him many times she likes him to stay as the childish, energetic Ilhoon.

How did you meet?: While on the set of BtoB's '2nd Confession' music video, Zoey began rapping Ilhoon's part in the beginning of the song because she was bored. Ilhoon heard her, and decided to challenge her to a freestyling competition. Zoey smirked and accepted. The other members of BtoB were the judges of the battle between the two. In the end, Zoey won the rapping competition. Afterwards, she and Ilhoon struck up a friendly conversation, and he asked for her number.

How do you interact: Zoey and Ilhoon are super close. They're the kind of couple who would do derpy and dorky stuff together. They're not into serious PDA, though sometimes Ilhoon enjoys sneaking a quick kiss on her cheek and they hold hands. Zoey simply loves it when Ilhoon does aegyo and gives her piggyback rides. They always work on rap lyrics together and Ilhoon likes to give his girlfriend tips on improving her rapping. Minwoo is a little strict when it comes to choreography – even towards his hyungs. He is horrible at keeping his temper and gets huffy at times. Minwoo is also emotional and quite sensitive.

How did you meet: It was during Zoey's second year of training, while she was doing a late night dance practice. She couldn't get this one dance move right, and Minwoo heard her frustrated groans from outside. After introducing himself to Zoey, he offered to help her out and she accepted.

How do you interact: Zoey is very sisterly and caring towards Minwoo. Before a show, she fixes his hair and checks to make sure his microphone is working. Minwoo has innocent flirtations with Zoey, which she is unaware of. He says 'noona~' to her in a sweet voice and often links arms with her. Minwoo always manages to find excuses to hang around her. Zoey feels quite comfortable when it comes to sharing her feelings with Minwoo, so she tells him all her insecurities and fears.

Personality: Min's a strong girl who likes simplicity, she hates to make a big fuss out of things. She's very straightforward when it comes to words, but can may come off as blunt. Although she doesn't like to overthink, she's careful with her words and always thinks carefully before speaking her mind. Min is also relaxed and chill to be around, but she does have a crazy, attention-grabbing side. Whenever she hears music, Min automatically starts dancing, which makes her friends embarassed to go out with her.

How you met: One day Jia and Suzy decided to bring Zoey along to lunch to introduce her to the rest of the miss A members. When Min saw Zoey, she smiled amusingly and said, "So you're Zoey Kang. I've heard a lot about you." Zoey was confused at first, but she later found several articles on allkpop comparing Zoey and Min.

How you interact: Min and Zoey are actually polite towards each other. Zoey greets Min with a respectful bow and calls Min unnie. But they are also awkward, and whenever they try to start a conversation it always ends up being one-worded answers and uninterested nods. Then Min and Zoey sit there silently until someone else comes along to talk to both of the girls.

Why are you rivals: Zoey doesn't actually hate Min. In fact, she has no problem with Min. It's just that many of the netizens and Min's fans compare Zoey's dancing and rapping to Min's, which irks Zoey endlessly. While the two girls have a neutral relationship, the media loves to portray their rivalry as nasty. Min has told everyone repeatedly not to compare them, but it still happens and it may strain Min's and Zoey's neutrality in the future.

G.Na is also very bubbly, and her performances are always high-strung and energetic because of that. She's quick to understand awkward situations and loves helping out her hoobaes. G.Na does however, hold insecurities inside, many which are about her body and physical image. 

How you interact: Zoey tries to be nice to G.Na, but she just ends up gritting her teeth whenever she sees G.Na. At most times Zoey avoids eye contact with her so G.Na won't come over for a conversation. G.Na is completely oblivious to Zoey's behavior, she likes to give Zoey hugs and calls her 'my lovely dongseng.' On camera, Zoey smiles brightly and returns G.Na's hugs, but once the camera and G.Na leaves, Zoey sticks out her tongues and rolls her eyes.

Why you are rivals: G.Na just rubs Zoey the wrong way. As childish as it sounds, Zoey is extremely jealous of G.Na's closeness with Ilhoon and how they spend more time together than Zoey does with him. Zoey understands that they're labelmates, but she gets paranoid whenever Ilhoon touches G.Na's shoulder or hand. It doesn't help that several fans ship G.Na and Ilhoon together, despite the . And since no one knows about Zoey's status as Ilhoon's girlfriend, she can't be possessive around him. At the same time, Zoey is jealous of G.Na's amazing vocals.
