Background : Seungyeon grew up a very difficult life style. Her mother and father were very, very poor when she was a child and she had to do a lot of odd jobs just to help make a living. By the time she turned fourteen that's when she started to work, two jobs just to make a living. One being a fast food worker and the other being a worker at a daycare center. Eventually things did get better for her and her family: Her father got a better paying job but even so she still worked one of her jobs at the daycare because she wanted to do something at least to help her parents out.

A few years later when she turned nineteen, Seungyeon finally graduated high school but didn't go to college. She thought long and hard what she wanted to do with her life and that's when her mother suggested 'Why don't you try a career in dancing? You love to dance.' Dancing had always been a passion of hers. Whenever she listened to a song she'd dance to the beat of the music. So she signed up for a few dancing classes and that's when she decided that dancing was her passion.
