Between I-Fans and K-fans + Rants

Note these: 1) This is what I've observed for the few years I've been a kpop fan. 2) This is also what my k-friends have said about this issue. 3) Everything here is purely written by me and ME only.

I feel like there is a broken bridge between Korean and International fans, specially the part where the news are supposed to be known by the whole fandom and not just the few. It felt like, there will always be a thick wall or a barrier between us and them. Yes, I have a few K-fan friends and k-sasaeng friends... but I never felt like they were open about almost everything to me (as they know that I am a foreigner). I asked them, "Why are you not open about these issues to International fans?". They explained to me that it was not because they hate them for no-other-reason or because they just wanted to. It was because of the different perspective/point of views/goals when it comes to the Oppa/s and Unni/s.

Just like the recent issue about Zhoumi and Henry. I talked about this with my k-friends, also. They told me that only the international fans started the issue and were followed by the Koreans&Chinese fans. K-fans never really stated something about this but the i-fans fueled up the issue made it big till Hyukjae exploded. They were actually too stressed to talk to their I-friends who keeps bickering about the issue and that made them more pissed off.

The issue about "International fans don't buy anything so they don't have the right to say anything about this issue"? I was actually offended. I am one of those who does not buy the official release and such things. I am not well off, I don't have enough money to actually buy an album because I give my two cents on charity projects by fanclubs. I'd rather help a fansite who helps other peple for the name of our idols. I almost never gave a damn aboub K-fans but my pride was too hurt to never drop off my cents. Though I don't buy any album or official merchs, I actually go to their concerts (which is technicaly helping them).

"We send them off. International fans stops them." Yes, it is a big deal in Korea if you don't serve in the military. To be honest, I don't kinda get the meaning behind military services but it makes me feel good. It somehow makes me feel good to know that my idol is going to military and his hardships will be over soon. Not like other International fans, they don't literally understand the military service at all. Majority of I-fans hates their idols going to military (backtrack: yoo Seunghoo). They hate the fact that they won't be able to hear a "thing" abuot their idol and not seeing updates about them for 20 months.

"painting face black is actually funny", for Koreans it is. But for some reason, some I-fans hate it or despise the fact that it is a comedic act in Korea. Comedians in Korea do it. Yesung, Gikwang, and other idols did it already yet the I-fans still thinks it is un-natural in Korea. You might not know but there are I-fans who thinks they know everything Korea. Fans like those who bash a group for doing the "black face" because they thought it is a 'racist' thingy to do or something.

"World = Asia" Yes, it is somehow true. Before the K-Agencies actually opened up to US, they called Asia their world. Actually, their Asia is Korea-Japan-China and the world it mainly the Southeast Asia (Without Philippines). So if agencies sees the Korea-Japan-China as basically the world world, the K-fans have no reason to se others as "true" fan. In my own experience, my korean (sasaeng anf normal fans) friends actually think that Southeast Asia has the most neutral fans. They said that most S.E countries weren't a troublemaker but they didn't mean that the individual fans are the best.

"K-fans first. Because we're on our own land." It is right. If you were them, would you rather the foreign fans pioritized first before you, who lives in your own country? of course not! I actually do not think that International fans are always right about majority of the issues.

"Korean fans are too secretive" — International fans says.

I, also, have bickered about this too. Well, it is true that Korean fans are too secretive and they keep the issues to them, just for them. Wonder why? 'I-fans think differently and are not too open like us', that's what they said. I agree, though. We think differently and our perspectives are different from K-fans&C-fans.

In my own experience, most of my k-friends are willing to help us, I-fans to get closer to them. And to be honest, they tried but the International fans were too wild and too hard to hold up. But not all I-fans and K-fans are in a war... Just like me and my friends, we're close as it is. We keep in touch and they even wen here to visit me! They update me with what they know and I update them with what I recently knew. Basically, it's all about give and take. You might not kno wbut we are normal human being too. We cannot just do what we love to do just because it is your own perspecive. You might want it, but do they like it?

Ah mind if I comment?

I'm glad you're Korean K-Pop friends are willing to help international fans like us ^^ It shows that not all Korean K-Pop fans hate international fans. Me being international myself, I feel hurt sometimes when other fans look down on us.

Were all fans right? We all like the same thing. Kpop. I hope someday all of us fans can come together as cheesy as this sounds and support our favorite groups together.

International fans are not always right about certain things and Korean fans are not always right. It goes both ways really in my opinion.
