The intro to my blog

Wassup?

So I've finally decided to start a blog. My posts will be irregular and the subject matter could be on anything from news about my stories (because I really hate getting chapters out of order just to put authors notes... I'm a bit OCD...) to drama recommendations/reviews, to random updates about life. I'd especially like for my story subscribers to read this, because I don't know about the rest of you but I'm always interested in meeting other fans.

A little background about me:

  • I'm currently 19 (born in '94 ^^)
  • I live in a medium sized city in Texas... and before I continue, I wish to answer a few stereotypical questions that I've been asked more than once before and am sure will be asked several more times in the future:
    • I don't own a horse. In fact, I've only ridden a horse once in my life (and "ridden" is a bit of an exaggeration; it was more like a 9-year-old-me holding on for dear life as the ranch owner walked the horse in a circle for 5 minutes.)
    • As sad as it is that I've been asked this... well, at least five times over the last year or so-- No, I would not consider myself a racist. *thinks for a second* And I actually just realized that I'm the only caucasian in my friend group... hmmm. It's sad that I feel the need to post this bullet but I know if I leave it off, someone will feel the need to ask me... *sigh*
    • I have owned 1 pair of cowboy boots and 1 cowboy hat in my lifetime. Honestly, I never wore either more than 2 or 3 times.
    • "Y'all" is a word.  Look in the dictionary. Moving on
  • I hate stereotypes
  • My ultimate bias is Chanyeol from EXO
  • Before I discovered kpop, I hated rap. Now, somehow, 9 out of 10 times my bias ends up being the rapper. This leads to awkward conversations with non-kpop fans. For example, earlier today at the bus stop:

Me: "I listen to lots of different kinds of music."

Guy who's been there the last 3 days, yet I keep forgetting his name: "Really? What about rap?"

Me: *thinks*

*nods head* "Yeah, I guess I listen to a decent amount of rap."

Guy: "Who do you listen to the most? I might know them."

Me: *makes a list in my head* Chanyeol, Zico, Zelo, Junhyung... *looks at guy* "You probably wouldn't know them."

  • I've only met 2 other kpop fans in RL before, and I'm the only one I know that listens to more than one group.
  • I'm OBSESSED with Simon, Martina, and their adorable pets.
  • When I'm really tired (like now) I tend to babble a lot. Sorry in advance.
  • I'm the only one among my friends that actively listens to kpop (though I think I've finally converted one of my friends, more of that in the next post.)
  • I love variety shows, my faves being Hello Baby (common, producers, I'm still waiting to know who's in the next season!) and Running Man

That's it for now!

Lol. I know how you feel. I HATE stereotypes too. I'm Asian and people always ask me the following things: Are you smart?(Okay so that I'm not hating on. The rest of the world thinks Asian are smart. I do happen to be in the top 5% in my highschool life. LOL.) Do you know how to fight?(Dear god, I hate that question. No I don't know how to fight. But I definitely would be one of those girls who pulls hair either.) Are you going to be a doctor in the future?(No I'm not. I plan to do something with literature!) Are you Chinese?(Like are you freaking kidding me...not all Asians are Chinese!) Yeah well, things aren't so easy for me either lol.
