Sometimes tumblr... *sigh*

powerful dancing =/= good dancing

I know everyone loves how powerful Min’s dancing is but powerful dancing =/= good dancing.

To me, her dancing is very sloppy compared to Jia and Fei. Min also tends to get off beat and rush things. Her range of dance is also limited to hip hop and popping. She can’t do jazz, ballroom, ballet, swing, ect like Jia and Fei can.

If you see all the stuff Jia and Fei can do you will see how much better they are than her at dancing. (this is coming from a dancer)

As a dancer myself, I beg to differ. Who says you need to have a broad range in dance just to be a good dancer? Having a broad range in dance just gives you more knowledge in dance but you don’t have to know fifty forms of dance to be a good dancer. It’s about the expression, the passion and the technique, and Min has it, which is why people constantly praise her for being such a good dancer. Even if she can “only” do hip-hop and popping, as you say, it doesn’t make her any less of a good dancer, especially when she is one of the best at it. Min was actually formally trained in all sorts of dance because she went to several dance schools in both Korea and NYC, so who are you to say she isn’t capable just because she only prefers to do hip-hop and does it the most. In fact, when they did the tango for a special performance with 2PM, Min had the best lines and footwork (thanks to hiphop). You say she’s sloppy, off beat and rushes things? I don’t think that’s true at all. Fei tends to mess up a lot in live performances, especially the special stages. The one who messes up the least would be Jia. You can be good in several things but it only takes for you to be great in one. Sure Fei is good in Jazz and now ballroom but she’s not great, in fact, under Min and Jia she is one of the weakest which is why she wasn't given a main or lead dance title.

So basically, I read that post up there and had to respond. *whispers* It's the pink by the way -my response. Anyway, I kind of found it a little ridiculous. Expoloring different forms of dance is a personal choice, it has nothing to with making you a better dancer. There are amazing dancers out there who never got trained, and only specialize in one form of dance. This person, who claims to be a dancer, should understand that. Yeah, sometimes power isn't everything but neither is knowing every single style of dance in existance. I'm sorry to say, but if you don't devote yourself to one, but still want to improve with the others on the side, than you will never reach that level that you want to be in your dancing. *weird analogy alert* It's like an engineer who decides to take a bunch of classes that has nothing to do with his major and improves everywhere else except where he needs to improve in order to graduate and get a career. Like I said, it was a ridiculous analogy to begin with. Lol. Being a great dancer is about more than that. Look at Teayang. He is a great dancer. Why? because of the passion he puts into it and the power and the energy... but wait, doesn't he only speciallize in hip-hop? *gasp* you don't say. -.- So yeah, I'm rambling. It's just that sometimes... the people say. smh.

Like has anyone really paid attention to the way that she pops or locks or ticks? I mean, her isolations are freaking ridiculous and even more so for a girl, especially one as tiny as her. And her power is a big freaking deal, considering how much she has when she dances.

This isn't a rant to take anything away from Fei and Jia, I mean they're exceptional dancers, missA as a whole is, and is the best dance group out there. But I won't tolerate people putting Min down and taking away from all of the hardwork and passion she put to get that far, especially as a dancer. I just won't.

Preach brother. I laughed when they said that Min "rushes" and she's "sloppy." I'm like, please. Her dancing is the cleanest in the group. I actually thought that the first post was yours and I was ready to defend Min, and then I was like, oh, we have the same thoughts about Min.... AGAIN :))))
