They said it's gonna be a dubstep song, but given that what people like to call dubstep (that be brostep, ya... Skrillex and Excision and their ilk) has kind of had its heyday already a year or two ago, I am gonna guess they're really thinking more along the lines of trap music, like what Major Lazer and Flosstradamus do, and that type of breakdown that Will.i.am used in "Gettin Dumb" for CL's rap (.....and the Harlem Shake. WOOP.) That is the sound that is pretty much causing a ruckus this year, and so when they say that CL's going to be doing something fresh and hip-hop, that is what I think they mean. Plus a dougie style dance would fit with that better than brostep.
