So yep. I started brainstorming horror stories, as requested by the couple of lovely peeps who responded on my earlier blog post (thank you mizzm29 and cdbmblackjack!) Plus, doing some research via tvtropes and obvious google searches like "how to write horror" (lol) and reading some of the horror stories on here and others. And guess what? I'm so proud of myself! Cause 1. I thought of some nice (well not nice but ummmm effective?) ideas and 2. I didn't lose any sleep over it yet! XD GO ME!!

I honestly have historically had a very hard time with horror movies or video games. Books, they're okay, because everything there is only as scary as I let myself imagine it. But strong visuals or sounds, they get stuck in my mind. Seeing "The Ring" when I was 14 was life-altering; I didn't sleep except when I couldn't take it anymore for a month and couldn't be around TVs or in silence. And it affected me all the way up into college. I still can't look at pictures of Sadako/Samara, really, or ghosts that look like her.

But actually horror - and even my own reaction to that movie and that story - has always fascinated me too. Like why do we get scared and what does it take to really drive us over the edge, each individual person... and what different writers of horror use to inspire us to fear. Especially when just the idea of some certain thing is enough to make us go "oh crap" and whimper... an idea that can make people viscerally afraid? That's when horror becomes genius. I find slasher films kind of hackneyed and torture just gross, so my main interests are in pyschological horror and occult horror. What eats at people's minds.... muhahaha....

Sooo I think first of all I'm gonna be doing a shortish, like a few chapters, psychological horror story. Starriiiiing.... maknae Mingkki! And I hope it's going to be interesting cause I really don't want to just do a rehash of dumb old ideas that everyone can see coming in every scary movie.  I wanna scare the crap out of you people. Cause I love you! <3

And then maybe later, I'll do a story involving demonic elements, because gosh it's so fun for me. I love mythology, and Judeo-Christian mythology has always been some of the most fascinating for me (even though I'm no longer religious) because it hits so close to what I grew up in, as an American and having a family with a Christian background. So looking forward to thinking up ideas for that too!!! Maybe a one-shot or something... we shall see~
