(Note: My thoughts will be in this color.)  So I'm not going to lie, if any of the EXO guys became Top Models, most would probably bet on Tao or something, but the thing is, I would say Jongdae instead.  Not only does he have unique looks, godly bone structure, and being super handsome, he has the personality and this aura about him that makes people like him easily.  He's talented, good looking, and has a fun and fresh side about him, and being able to see the differences between pictures and how he acts in real life is the thing that would make him a Top Model.  Top Models have this unique thing about them and not to say that Tao doesn't have it, but Jongdae has uniqueness in spades and looks god damn beautiful in the pictures he takes, which all Top Models seem to have the ability to do.

[TRANS] Ceci interview: Chen

Ceci June issue. Chen’s section.

Attractive point: main vocal, skinny pig.

Skinny pig?: Because compared to how much I ate, I can’t grow as much fats and this is kinda troubling. No matter how much I eat I can’t grow fat, and when I slim down it happens so fast. But this time in order to make my face look better, I have put in some effort in gaining weight.

The thing about Jongdae is that this is so painfully true and it's kind of painful to hear a bit, because I don't know how many other people have noticed, but some of the boys this comeback are looking really skinny (*cough*Minseok*cough*).  So it might be a just me thing, but it's sad to hear how hard Jongdae has to struggle to keep within healthy weight standards.  It also doesn't help that Jongdae's naturally small, even though he likes to wear lifts and his bright personality hiding the fact that he's one of the tinier members of EXO.

I can understand that Jongdae has a bit of an easier time when it comes to staying skinny when it comes to the other members, but I also think it's a bit unfair that he has to eat so much.  I'm sure a lot of times he doesn't mind it, but there are always those times when you just can't physically eat or can't eat anymore, but Jongdae can't not eat, so he has to force himself to.  It's a bit dysfunctional and my heart bleeds for the other guys that have had to do similar things or do the opposite when it comes to slimming down for this comeback.

Break time: I was afraid that I might become lazy so I focused a lot. And because the free period is really long.

The break really was long and EXO fans agonized over it, but the thing is, I'm sure the guys felt even worse not being able to do anything.  If there is anything about Jongdae that stands out besides his bonestructure and trolling, it's his hardwork and dedication.  Jongdae likes a challenge, genuinely likes being able to sing, and doing the idol stuff. He likes getting to show the world his voice, but the thing is, I'm pretty sure he's one of the boys that probably had a hard time with coping with that long of a free period.

Jongdae literally lives, eats, and breathes music.  He's willing to put the hours into learning Chinese so he can help speak out more and promote in china better.  He spends extra time in the studio to go over his singing to make sure he sounds good enough, being able to balance emotion and intonation correctly.  He's aware of the fans and is the expert in the group when it comes to dealing with fanservice.  Jongdae is a doer who likes a challenge, so the break they had probably almost killed him in boredom alone.  That and continuously doing 'MAMA' all the time ahd to have , because while BAP and other groups have been able to do multipe songs, EXO really hasn't.  And to Jongdae who like I said likes to be challenged and not bored, this was probably a bit hard on him to do.

Which brings me to the point that part of the reason why SM decided to keep the debut under wraps for so long was hopefully to give Jongdae and Minseok some extra time to polish up their language skills.  I know SM isn't the best management, because they aren't, they actually fail in a lot of areas, but a part of me hopes that SM held back on comebacks for so long was to actually help some of the members out, rather than finding a time that doesn't correspond with any of their other comebacks.  But knowing SM, it's probably the latter.

Ideal type: Really charming eyes, city girl, has a heart that is able to tolerate my willfulness.

If you were to confess: At an amusement park, I’d pretend to leave to buy drinks and suddenly appear in the parade team to give her a surprise. After that I would ask her, “Do you wanna marry me?”

Anticipated reactions: Hope she will throw herself into my arms.

If you were to receive a confession: I don’t need anything, an “I love you” is enough.

Um, can I say how cute I think Jongdae is here.  His reactions and way to confess is really sweet, even if it's a bit cliched.  It's cute and really tells how playful and fun Jongdae likes to be.  Amusement park dates are probably a dime a dozen, but having a parade team to confess?  That's new and most definitely cute and innovative.  The anticipated reactions is so cute, that I just, really don't have any words, because Jongdae is just a very cute guy.  Like how can he be overlooked so much when he has such cute and professional answers.  Jongdae knows when to have fun and when to stay professional, and personally, I think that's one of his best qualities about him.

And his answer to if he recieved a confession is just totally simple and true when it comes to guys, because simple and straight to the point is good.  All that planning and trying to make things perfect and trying to do things when a simple 'I like you' is suffice is something not a lot of girls get.  Guys are really simple when it comes to a lot of things, and yeah, that may seem confusing to girls who like to overanalyze everything and make things complicated, in guy world, simple, yet heartfelt confessions go a long way.

If you sign up for a 10billion insurance: Insurance for my vocal chords. I want to sing for the rest of my life.

See why I say Jongdae lives, eats, and breathes music.  He would insure his vocal chords, which may seem like it's common in the kpop/music entertainment world, but one cannot forget the fact that Jongdae was going to go to university for music on his own, rather than a lot of idols who go to school to take music majors that are easy to juggle with their schedules.  If Jongdae didn't become an idol, I'm pretty sure he would have ended up on Korea's version of Broadway or something.

EXO’s gathering: Noisy, as if we’re in the middle of a busy street, a total mess. When each of the 12 members say just one line, the scene is grand enough.

This makes sense, twelve guys in one room, talking and doing things that create so much noise pollution that some can't do much of anything else.  And I'm sure Jongdae was fine with a lot of it, but between him and Minseok who actually have to study Chinese, probably disliked the noise a bit.  I mean, studying is hard enough, but with noise?  Yean, it becomes ten times harder and for a language like Chinese, things like this make me think a bit more about EXO and more often than not, Jongdae and Minseok.

Members’ beer tolerance level: Best one would be Xiumin hyung, then Chanyeol> Chen> Kris> Luhan. The rest of the members are on par with one another. But Lay hyung whose face turns red immediately after a glass is definitely at the bottom.

Haha, this is kind of cute.  Minseok doesn't really surprise me because there is always that one small guy that literally is able to drink like a champ and no one knows how he can do it, because he's so damn small and shouldn't be able to drink as much as he can.  Chanyeol and Kris make sense due to their heights.  Jongdae could be fudging the numbers a bit, but he might be one of those chill drunks that everyone likes, so it's okay if he fudges the numbers a bit, because chill drunks are usually better than people who can hold their liquor and become non-chill drunks when it comes to consuming alcohol.  The last point about Yixing being the worst of them is actually really cute.

Three wishes: I am very curious about the world after death. I just want to simply take a tour to find out. If there are really aliens somewhere in this universe, please bring them to me. And I want a medicine that is able to cure all diseases.

Like seriously, can I steal Jongdae away for a bit, because these answers are kind of gold.  Yeah, the last one is a bit cliche to say, but if you notice, Jongdae's always the one to make statements to the fans about health related issues, it's kind of a cute point about him actually.  So seeing it as one of his wishes is actually pretty truthful of him to say if you think about it.

The other two wishes obviously tell you that Jongdae's a curious guy and that makes sense too, because Jongdae really is.  He may not show it a lot, but I'm pretty Jongdae was probably one of the guys that was the type of student that paid attention in class and actually asked questions because he wanted to learn.  Aliens and death are relatively deep to taboo topics, because both explain something that many people like to argue about if it's true.  So seeing Jongdae ask these questions just kind of confirms that fact that Jongdae does take the time to think about life and the other things out there, cementing the fact that he's not as immature or kiddish as some believe.

Chen’s three main points: Blessed, thick earlobes, the mole below his neck, a very manly and loyal character.

I truly think Jongdae does believe he's blessed, but there are also moments where I can't help but think that Jongdae is getting the short end of the stick when it comes to SM.  EXO is an experimental group, sorry to burst your guys' bubble, but it's true, because SM has no clue how to really promote EXO as two subgroups and a whole that well.  EXO was something that didn't have enough planning done and that's why things aren't that great for the guys sometimes.

And seeing this and knowing how talented Jongdae is, how overlooked he is sometimes, it's kind of painful to see.  Because if Jongdae had ever went solo instead, he would have been popular.  Teamed with his good looks, natural talent, affinity for doing good fanservice, and having pipes on him that literally blow people away, no one can say that Jongdae wouldn't have done well.  He would have rocked the stages and then the interviews and variety shows, cementing him as a good contender when it comes to good solo acts.

You can try and debate this, but Jongdae's talent and interesting personality alone sets him apart, which is something needed when it comes to standing out in the kpop world.

Explain about Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Chen beagle issue. (T/N: Beagle are the kind of dogs who can’t calm down and are very playful): It’s a misunderstanding. Compared to Baekhyun and Chanyeol, I’m a very, very normal kid.

Out of all the members of EXO, Chanyeol and Baekhyun are the guys that Jongdae really allows himself to break free from his normal hyung-dongsaeng or dongsaeng-hyung relationships he has, which makes sense as the two are born in the same year as him, being relatively close in age as well.  So it makes sense that Jongdae can  be the wacky kid he is sometimes, and knowing Chanyeol and Baekhyun to be loveable derps that don't always care about how they look or their image compared to some of the othe EXO members, it's good to see them be the people that Jongdae allows himself to freely play with.  Jongdae may have fun with his hyungs and dongsaengs, but there is a slight professionalism he keeps with him, hence all the times whenever they do those games where the youngest members get to be the oldest, he doesn't talk to his seniors with disrespect and still calls them his hyungs.

Jongdae is one of those people that I'm not sure that many people get because he has facets to his personality that are often overlooked, because for whatever reasons that people just aren't able to see.  He's very good at switching the fun and serious button when he needs to.  So yeah, I can see that Chanyeol and Baekhyun may admit to Jongdae being a bit crazy sometimes when he's with them, but when he holds that level of respect to his hyungs and has some belief in the age heiarchy that Korea has, it's no wonder he may seem a bit different when it comes the Chanyeol and Baekhyun.  They're the same age, so it's easy for him to get away with a lot more stuff, rather than having to hold back a tiny bit for his hyungs and dongsaengs, because he wants them to respect him.

Skills you wish to steal from other members: Lay and Kai’s dancing abilities.

Jongdae is not a dancer as he doesn't have that natural flow to his body like some of the EXO members.  And it's something he struggles with as well, because Jongdae is a bit of a perfectionist.  His hardwork, perseverence, and wanting to constantly better himself shows that.  And him being unable to dance that well, it's obvious that he would want to have those dancing skills, because it's something he's not good at and needs to work at.  He's gotten better, but it's just one of those things, along with combating the language barrier, that really is a challenge for him.

To Chen, the “not able to leave 4D” dance is?: Can’t say anything today. I will show it on stage soon.

Chen’s user manual: As long as I eat a full meal and there’s tidbits in between, I’ll be full of energy. Even if you leave me alone, I’ll still complete the job well. So you don’t have to worry. I like to watch movies. Hence if you want to go out with me, then bring me to the cinema!

Out of all the boys, Jongdae is probably one of the most down to earth guys as he's surprisingly simple when it comes to certain things.  He has that boy next door thing going on, and hearing his replies to these questions really show that.  He's got that respectful air about him, but also that playful side to him too.  Jongdae likes to keep things simple because he knows his job isn't that simple, so things like going to the movies or just going out to eat speak loads more to him than doing something crazy.  Jongdae's the type of person that'll be happy if you're happy and he'll make sure to do his best to do that.

Overall, Jongdae's an interesting guy and I hope with future developments, people start looking at him a bit more, because as I see it now, many people are missing out.

He is just precious! And yeah I noticed Minseok's lack of chubby cheeks in the new pics. It makes me sad because that was what made him Baozi! :(
