Jin Hye is an introvert. She doesn't talk alot, she's not comfortable in the presence of too many people, and she likes being alone. She only has very little number of friends, but once she's comfortable with them, she'll loosen up a lot. With a close friend, she can be pretty talkative, a bit crazy too. With all her ideas and questions. She will usually only observe from the distance, and won't chime into the scene if she thinks it's not worth her time.
She looks blank at times, like there's nothing going on inside her. But she has a big curiousity and likes to poke on things that capture her interest. She goes lively everytime she found a new target for her investigation. She's not afraid of getting caught red-handed, or scolded, basically she's not afraid to be punished. As long as she get to know what she wants to know, she'll be content. Even if that means she has to do her little adventures alone because her friends think it's a reckless thing to do. Skin heavily tinted blue (like the Navi from Avatar). They have large eyes with no iris (all black), roughly the size of a tennis ball, with two eyelids (one like a clear film, and one normal skin). She has 3 gills on each side of her neck, and on the sides of her body, near her ribs. Long, green hair, and her ears kindda look like the antennae of this fish, but hers are blue instead.

Planet Name : Hydromantella Hidroxi
Species : Homo Hydrome
Language : Hydrax. The alphabet is boxy and still has drawing symbols (like hieroglyphs). They write horizontally from right to left.
Description : A planet covered mostly with bodies of water, the water to land ratio is 90% to 10%. Because of the axis of the planet, a quarter of the planet would experience 3 months of darkness in any given time causing most of the ocean to be covered with everlasting thick coating of ice, eventhought the climate of the planet is fairly warm. Because of the warmness, another quarter of the planet is ridden with 3 months of terrible hurricane in any given time, which makes living outside the surface of water a bit tedious. Most of the less intelligent, non-naturally aquatic beings will live in caves, and the more intelligent ones will live in the under water cities.
Hydromantella is not the biggest planet, it's around the size of Venus (slightly smaller than earth). It orbits around a small newly formed star, and it's surrounded with a wall of tightly knitted asteroid belt. It's located in the Centaurus constellation. Looks light blue viewed from the space.
Background : Hydromantella is not the most advanced planet out there. It doesn't have the most advanced technology and their interstellar travel is still behind the rest of the planets. It took almost a century just to travel to earth. If the other planets had developed the warp drive technology, then they're still stuck with cryogenic travel.
The people are divided into tribes, of different races and intellegent level. Racism still occurs heavily, and there are still caste system. There are mermaids (top human and bottom fish), underwater humanoid (able to breathe underwater but has 2 legs), and land humanoid (usual human). The ones that can breathe under water naturally is considered less perfect, and the mermaids are even considered worse. The most intellegent of the tribes (the ones that creates underwater civilization) unanimously apointed themselves as the universal leader of the planet.
Other Info : The mermaids are more spiritually enhanced, so they have the most supernatural power than the rest of the races. They can either mess with other people's mind (reading their minds, inserting images into their heads, etc), or bend water. In some cases, they can do both. The underwater humanoid can only mess with the mind, and they're much less powerfull (except when they try really hard). The land humanoid doesn't really have a power, maybe just the higher ability to read the situations around them.

So, in the age of 7, she was already considered fit for work, and was working way harder than a kid is supposed to.
But she often escaped from the subpar workers lodging to go play in the deep ocean. The price of escaping the lodging is not cheap (flogging!) but she didn't really care.
Mission : She had a hard life on her planet and so her family bet on everything and volunteered to be the 'lab rat' of the planet's first interstellar expedition. The journey was not programmed on any particular planet, it was only assigned to land on any planet that has higher intellegence life in it. She and her sister's pod just happened to land on earth.
