“With this technology, the world of medicine shall never need further development. What makes us human is our conscience; our ability to think and make decisions. What defines a human is our superiority over our animalistic instincts. With the launch of the project ‘Perfect Human’, the human race shall be the most superior of them all.”

“Project ‘Perfect Human’ was a lie. The human race fell for their lies and now we have become the lowest of the low.”

“The human race shall no longer experience sickness or disease. We shall no longer experience injustice throughout the world. With this revolution, we shall not fear famines, droughts, epidemics or any other kind of natural disaster.”

“True, they do not fear natural disasters. They fear nothing at all anymore.”

“I say the time is now. We have been living with death ever since humans had existed. Our purpose in our lives was to become more and today, we have finally done it. This project will make us become gods. Our humanly needs that threaten our existence shall no longer be needed. Food and shall not be a necessity. Injuries shall no longer be existent. Our bodies shall gain so much more that we will no longer have to worry about something being too heavy. We would be able to do anything we like. Rain, snow, wind or shine, the human shall no longer be affected. Mother Nature shall be the one to kneel down before us.”

“Gods. If they knew what kind of ‘gods’ they would become, none of us would be in this mess. Indeed, Mother Nature has kneeled before the new human. In fact, she did more than just kneel. She begged for mercy and pleaded to the new ‘gods’. But alas, she was put out of her misery. Mother Nature has been completely ruled over by the ‘gods’ and was completely and utterly destroyed. They were definitely gods, but they were merciless.”

“It is now the future. We shall no longer remain in the past. Project ‘Perfect Human’ shall make us the perfect human. By transferring our conscience to our new and improved bodies, we are able to achieve immortality. We no longer need a younger generation to hand our works to because we have already found it. This is the turning point for our race. The gods shall no longer look down upon us. The world shall no longer have wars. Money shall no longer be needed. We will be able to spend our new lives doing whatever we want without any restraints. I say, the time is now. This project is what we have been waiting for, why should we wait any longer?”

“The Perfect Human, that was what everyone wanted. No flaws, no suffering, no pain. But alas, the project had one problem. The ‘Perfect Humans’ were no longer human. Our ability to develop feelings with one another was one of the main points of being human. The project only managed to transfer our conscience and that was it. The bodies were no longer human but machine. With only a conscience in the body of a machine, it would only be time until the machine takes over the conscience. As a result the perfect human was no longer human.”

“Taeyeon. Stop muttering nonsense and come help me. I found a bag of canned foods in the rubble nearby. Help me bring it up before the PHs arrive to destroy it,” a female brunette by the name of Jung Jessica interrupted the other’s thoughts with her harsh and cold voice. The female who had just been interrupted stood up swiftly and walked over to Jessica’s side and rested her hand against the blade in her sheath belt.

Jessica looked back to where the latter was sitting before to see an old destroyed screen playing the scene of the event many years ago.

“Why are you watching that speech again? You’ve seen it many times already. I don’t see any reason why you would go through all the trouble of getting something to work just to watch something like that.” Jessica walked over to the device and made an expression of disgust when she saw the man giving the speech on the screen.

“I was just watching the fall off humanity. It’s kind of nice to see where the world went wrong. I at least know that it’s not my fault that we’re in this mess,” the other female, by the name of Kim Taeyeon, answered back with an indifferent tone. Jessica stood up from her place and kicked the video player device as hard as she could; imagining that it was the actual man on the screen.

“Yeah, I get it. Now let’s focus on getting the cans of food. I’m so hungry right now,” Jessica reached to the belt around her thigh and took out her trusty weapon of choice ready at hand. Taeyeon chuckled at the brunette’s complaint as she scanned the perimeters.

“Why don’t you become a Perfect Human?” Taeyeon suggested before jumping down from the pile of rubble to the, somewhat flat, road. Jessica followed close behind but quickly took another step forward to smack Taeyeon across the head.

“Become a PH? No thank you. I’d rather skip a few meals than take up that project,” she scoffed haughtily. Taeyeon rubbed her head where Jessica had previously hit her sorely as the two walked down the empty and deserted road.

“Skip a few meals to remain human, huh? Seems like a fair deal.”

“But of course. I want to remain humane. I don’t want to be a mindless heartless robot.” Jessica kicked a rock in front of her with much force, despising the thought of ever undergoing the project transformation process. Taeyeon just shrugged carelessly and drew her sword out from her sheath. She swung it around lazily at the space before her with a small smirk on her face.

“Remaining human. I think that just about sums out what our future is going to be; protecting our humanity.”

Just a prologue of that annoying story that wont leave my mind xD
