Style : Casual. That's one word to describe her style. Comfortable. That's another one too. She doesn't like cramped spaces or in short, she doesn't like not being able to move. She doesn't like being restricted, so she wears short-shorts or thin skirts with leggings of different kinds under. [She rarely wears skirts because they can't be used for running.] Her upped clothes are—if not always—most of the times, baggy and loose-fitting ones. She also liked button ups and long sleeved shirts that can be rolled up to her elbow. Her shoe rack is composed of boots, ugg's, flats, slippers and the biggest of all, rubber and canvas shoes. And, she never leaves without her silver antique watch.

In few words : Casual and funky. Um, a bit on the spontaenous side and with a tad bit boyish touch.

Casual : Sweaters. Big, oversized knitted sweaters with any top inside and shorts. It varies. Sometimes, when it gets too cold, she wears jeans with her ugg's. On special occasions, she wears her lucky red trinity shoes. 

Formal : Cocktail dresses that are lightly colored along with her boots or flats. Also paired with her silver locket with the picture of her mother with her and a message saying, "True love will always find you." on the left.

Personality : J.J. is very outgoing and extroverted. She loves making friends and exploring. She likes to meet people and meet different personalities. Her mother once said, "Amongst the people you will meet, there will come a time that you will meet the love of your life—a person who will love you for the rest of your life, so you'd have to meet as many people as you can because one of them might be him." So she tries to, at least, meet all the people within her reach. Sometimes for her and sometimes just for pure fun. She enjoys being with people because she believes that humans are truly beautiful in so many ways even if there was that looming aura over them. Even if there was sadness.

She is also quite bossy and doesn't like her work and belongings being touched. She was a natural born leader. She always stood tall and confident. At school, she was always that leader, the president and the director. She was used to people relying on her so much that she can't help it, she will always take over even if it becomes too much for her. She is quick to gather her thoughts and will always be calm and collected when everything's disoriented. She grew up in a rural place near the slums, so she learned to be independent and practical at the young age of thirteen. 

She is also secretive even if people told her that she was open with her emotions. That is not true at all. Her eyes have a cloud hanging over them, a thing that prevents people from telling what she really feels. Due to that, she learned to faux what she truly feels and smile all the time. It became a reflex for her that she didn't have the ability to pour out her sadness and anger, always locking it at the back of her mind and heart. One minute, she smiles and then it falters before regaining its shine. Her secretive attitude became a wall for her. She doesn't like anyone seeing her at her utmost vulnerability, so whenever she's absent because of a simple fever, she says otherwise, like, "No, I just had... an appointment. Yeah..." and laughs it off. She lies too much because her body's immune system is a little fragile that people seemed to question her personality.

She became insecure after that. She began to doubt herself as well as the others. Her name's description rocketed down. Everything seemed to fall apart and she couldn't do anything... but she still stood tall. She became sensitive to insults regarding her personality, but of course, she still hid that. Her insecurity taught her to not always stand up, not to always be the leader. She began to seek appreciation and became afraid of rejection.

She treats everyone equally, status didn't matter to her. She doesn't judge quickly, the key as to why many people liked her. She's amiable and easy to approach. Once you become her friend, she will always take care of you no matter what and she will bend over backwards to be helpful. She's like a big grizzly bear, you can always seek warmth from her and she will always keep secrets. Even if she is the perfect friend, to her, no one is. That will explain why she knows everything about you yet you don't know much about her. 

On stage, J.J. will only talk if required. She will always give the spot to her other members and will try to make them happy, but that doesn't mean that she won't show off her talents. Of course, that happens very often. She will be daring and she will always be the first one to try the games because 1. She makes sure it's safe for them and she makes sure that they have a hint on how to play and 2. She wants the fun of first times.

Lastly, J.J., when it comes to business, can be blunt to the point of harsh. She directed a play once and told a very talented student, "This is what you call acting? This is trash, go exchange with him. Unless you cannot make acting happen, do not expect me to put you back in there."She doesn't care for material things and will constantly be in search for happiness. Her helpful nature only makes people walk over her. She always believed that you can run to the top without stepping on someone. She's also unpredictable, choosing random numbers and random places... etc. She also has a sharp memory, so she tends to forgive but she will never, ever forget.

Background : J.J. grew up in a rural area in the Philippines. Life was very hard for her and her mother, Jo AeCha. Her father was long dead, even before she was born. He was a writer and a Professor in Korea. Police often called him and involved him in cases because he was a mystery writer, but a case had gone wrong and resulted to his death. Her mother then moved to the Philippines for she knew that education and living arrangements were not so expensive there.

They lived in a small apartment as her mother went in and out of the city. It was hard, you had to give your everything just to earn good food and you had to scour the city just to get a good job. Her mother, being the frail woman she was, got sick very often. There were nights that she had to suffer without a complete meal, so she decided to help out in the Hacienda, the place where she met the man who took them in. 

Peter Rosales or 'Tatay Pedro' was a very kind man who runs the church in the Hacienda. People who came for refuge came to him and found comfort in God's quarters. Tatay Pedro never hesitated to take her in when he saw a thirteen year old girl out in the sun, planting crops along with the other farmers. He took her in, dressed her and fed her. Her mother was given proper treatment and she was allowed to go to school. He just knew that there was big potential in her. He was never mistaken.

J.J. did exceptionally well in School. She scored top and was part of the Art Club and the Theater. There she met a group of people who danced outside of school. She joined K.I.X. and performed outside occasionally, got good money that she used to buy presents for her mom and the rest she saved for other purposes. She found that she really enjoyed dancing and took classes.

At the age of sixteen, her mother told her that she still has a father and brother in Korea, much to her surprise. She gave her a key and her passport and told her that she would have a better future in Korea rather than in the Philippines. She reluctantly agreed and flew to Korea with her locket as the only reminder that her mother was with her. She took the adress of a person named Park Leroy in the phonebook and found out that he lives in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Leroy was definitely surprised to find out that AeCha was still alive and had a daughter. She found out that one year after her brother was born, they separated when her mother met Jo Hyun Woo. Leroy took her in and she continued her studies in there until she got recruited.

How your character got into SM Entertainment : Park Leroy owned a local theatre that J.J.'s taken a liking in. There they held the plays that she directed in her high school years with her class. Leroy knew that she was a director, but he saw he once on stage with no one around, she was dancing and singing to a song. She was charismatic and her moves were definitely solid, strong and smooth. Her voice was surprisingly low and powerful. He was a former actor and director himself in SM Ent., so he put in a good word for her. J.J. just suddenly recieved a letter that she was to come in the final auditions. She was definitely surprised that her teacher gave her a letter and that she was to come to the final auditions. Who was she to deny? This was definitely an unforgettable first time, so she decided to try.

How was trainee life? : It was E-Ok. She made acquaintances but not much friends. It was because the only places she goes to is the recording studios, practice rooms, school, cram school and her house. She never really approached someone unless needed. She focused more in her singing and other skills, so she could debut faster and get back to her mother. This caused a great rumor to spread. Some girls kept saying that she just got in because of her father and that she was a no-good and also that she was spoiled. She didn't notice the rumors floating above her head until Jessica Jung approached her and asked her directly. She ignored the rumor and thanked her for asking her instead of believing them. Other than that, it was normal.

Pre-debut information : She was assistan director for a short period in the movie Attack on the Pin-Up Boys. She was also a back up dancer for SNSD and a cameo in the show To The Beautiful You.

After-debut activities : An acting career and a few cf's.

Personality : Chen loves to smile. He likes to observe people and keep it within himself. He's a quiet guy who has a sharp eye for things. He enjoys writing and composing, but keeps it to himself. He's not much expressive but you can rely on him about certain things. He doesn't like conflicts and will do anything to stop it. He's neat and he doesn't like overspending. He likes to keep it simple and lovely. He doesn't like being criticized for he will start to notice the littlest of his own faults, but he will accept it.

He's a very sweet guy, a person you can hold on to when you're disoriented or scattered. He rarely gets angry, but when he is, he'll most likely lock it in the back of his mind. He never liked the feeling of angry, he knows it's a very dangerous emotion to hold on to, so he tries so hard to control himself. That's what she's frustrated of. He never once got mad at her that she started doubting if he really cared. Now, trust is a vial thing for her. A simple display of mistrust will send her to pits of doubt and endless frustrations. She'll start being paranoid and push herself away in, no doubt, an attempt of gathering herself and her thoughts.

Meeting :  It was the day of J.J.'s own teaser photo. It was also the day for EXO's photoshoot of their upcoming second album. Everyone was frantic; the staffs were running around and hopping from place to place. J.J., along with Key, entered the room and was shocked by how busy the set was. She was nearly hit by rolls of fabrics when Key pulled her back. She just laughed it off, but was interrupted when a staff grabbed her hand. Key just smiled and waved at her, laughing maniacally.

Chen was early. Of course he was early. He stepped back when a staff who's dragging a girl who's cursing at someone ran past him. He looked at the direction where she was cursing and saw it was his sunbae Key who was waving and laughing maniacally. He shrugged it off and kept on walking to his set. He didn't know why, but since he found out about their debut, he couldn't keep his eyes off her.

Ending : J.J. will take a six month haitus from all activities and will go back to the Philippines to visit her mother. "Oh, her? Everyone is saying that she has no talent and she got in because of her daddy. I'm not sure, but that's what I heard."

Jessica approached her and asked her directly. Well, she would only be satisfied if it came from . She was taken aback by the uncaring attitude towards the rumour and decided that she was a good choice for a friend. When they meet, Jessica would smile and motion her over and they will talk.
